I too have lost money through them. So this end up to be a me too campaign 🤑.

    • Hey seibmoZ niagraB - We don't want you to lose any money! Please send us a PM with your email and I'll look into this for you today.

  • +1

Terrible tracking.. better wait for CR.

  • +1

I had a $40 vodafone cashback not track due to a mistake in their listing. They admitted the mistake and said they would credit everyone. I never got that. I chased it up and they said they couldn't do anything anymore.

Since then I don't take part in prepaid mobile cashback deals. YMMV but I've had other problems with them.

But my Amazon cashbacks have been fine. Sometimes they didn't track and had to be chased up.

And I wasn't able to get paid when using a gift voucher (they treat it like an unapproved promo code). But all the items still currently tracking have a date that hasn't been reached yet, so I won't hold that against them.

    • +1

Hey lostn - Are you able to send us some details around the Vodafone issue? Send us a PM and I'll look into it today.

      • +1

It was ages ago. I have let bygones be bygones. No one is perfect.

I'm careful about what cashbacks I go for. I only take part if it's something I actually needed/wanted to buy. I won't see it as a loss if the cashback doesn't go through. So I won't take up a mobile deal if it was only to make a small profit in cashbacks.

I see cashbacks as a bonus, not an incentive that would get me to buy something I wasn't already planning to buy. That way I don't get burned.

I am very impressed by your professionalism though. For the most part I've had a positive experience with SB.

  • +2

Yeah I tried shopback when it first launched and had these promos. None of my multiple purchases tracked, since the amount is pretty minor I don't see the value in me chasing it up and I think that's the strategy they employ here. I've used cash rewards before and rarely have problems (not never but at least 90% of my stuff gets tracked).

    Yeh nah negged.

    • hey fufufu - Nothing is too small! Send through a PM and I'll look into it for you.

      • Hi there, I also miss some tracking. So who can I contact for these issue? I can't find any contact button on the website. cheers

  • +2

Same issues here with 3+ month old purchases showing as pending or rejected and no support from SB. Waste of my time!!!

    • Hey mrkrazy - Please send us a PM with your email and I'll look into this for you today and see what's going on

Shopback are the kind of company to get their own executives to fake reviews on Trust Pilot.

Angus Muffet posted this review, he's the Country Manager.

Josey Chow posted this review, she's the Head of Expansion.

"Tommy" or Tom Howard, the Head of Merchants & Partnerships has posted 2 reviews, both 5 stars. dev tom is probably him too.

Their recent feedback speaks more reasonably and this thread just confirms it.

    • +4

Lol. This is a new level of stupidity from the employees(Execs!!!!) I gotta say. Leaving feedback under their own names!!

    • +4

I have never used Trust Pilot before, are user names actually verified with a some kind of ID? Because of they are not, then there are two cases:

      a) Shopback executives are stupid since they can't even use fake names when leaving reviews for themselves
      b) Someone else has posted these reviews under their names to later shame them.

      • Your second point definitely makes sense if in case they aren't using an id verification system. But as a business, wouldn't they be inclined to monitor their feedback and remove them if they are under fake user accounts - especially under the name of their execs to avoid this potential issue doweyy has highlighted.

      • I don't believe ID's are verified unless someone requests it as they might be not genuine.

But funnily enough, they all posted the same comments on their Other Shopback Page? too. So highly doubt that it's (b).

  • +2

Agreed I find their tracking unreliable.

    • Hey VehemenceThePhoenix - Are there any transactions you'd like us to look into for you?

  • +2

Lately unless contact them many firms will not freely provide refunds on products they could not provide . The onus is on the customer to chase it up and they are playing a % game that X amount won't and provide them more profits .

Really is sick practise : (

  • BTW saying that I've never had a problem with shopback .

  • +2

Reading these comments makes me feel like I’m the only Cashback user that is experiencing normal service :\

    • +2

I doubt its malicious on SB's part, sounds like some greater technical issue. At least rep is pro active in trying to deal with it.

Ignoring genuine support tickets is poor form though.

    • Me too, everything has been tracked. Wild guess but I’m sure ad blockers are the underlying cause for a lot of tracking not being done.

      • Right mate. Have you bothered to read peoples complaints?

Most of them are made by experienced OzB members who have used cashback sites for ages.

A lot of missed transactions are from the same Amazon orders where some items have had cashback approved.

And that is still no excuse for poor customer service in not replying to peoples complaints sometimes for months.

        • Thanks for the feedback, mate.

  • +2

I have never received any credit from shopback and I followed the rules and tried various setups.. Tried claiming also no luck. back to cashrewards

    • Hey xtommyk - Can you PM us with some details on the credit issue so I can help out?

  • +2

Just made another purchase through Amazon for 12% but then realised a bunch of my previous Amazon purchases are still pending in Shopback and should have gone through Late Feb Early March……no one seems to be too bothered in pushing my cashback through :P

    • Hey Fergy1987 - Can you PM us with some details on these orders and I'll get it looked at for you?

  • +2

I have many transactions dating back to Jan 11 this year. All pending. When am I getting my money shopback. Poor form.

    • Hey micsav99 - Can you PM us with some details and I'll get it looked at for you?

  • +2

I have a bunch of amazon ones stuck pending as well.

    • Hey exc3113nce - Flick me a PM with some info on these and I'll look into it for you.

  • -3

Ozbarganiers saying they have lost money from Shopback, you haven't lost money. They haven't taken money from you.

I treat Shopback and Cashrewards as a nice little bonus. Buying from Amazon, Dan Murphy's is already the cheapest price so you are getting an even better deal. No one is forcing you to buy anything.

I've opened tickets with both cashback sites and have always had my issues resolved.

If 12% isn't good enough for you then don't use cashback sites.

    • +4

I don't really agree with this…well depends on how you see it..

If I was to buy something that cost $400 and say my budget is around $350..I wouldn't have made the purchase unless there is a 12% cash back.

Now if my cash back is declined, I actually "lost" $50 or some would even say $400 because I would have saved it and wait for another sale.

      • -1

I can see your side of it as well.

I look at it like $400 is the cheapest price I can get this for right now and as a bonus there is a 12% cashback so that makes it an even better deal.

This would be an issue if there was a place that had it for $380 with no cashback but you bought it from the other place for $400 with 12% cashback and missed out on the $48 bonus.

    • +4

It’s not a bonus as I took the Cashback into consideration of my purchases. Therefore I feel robbed if I don’t get my Cashback. Anyway I just checked my SB account. Everything was tracked but all pending earliest one from late Jan.

    • Yes they have taken money from you.

Who says they haven't taken the money from the cashback and kept it for themselves.

We don't have the proof but a disturbing trend does seem to be appearing on these forums.

I'm not here to line the pockets of cashback sites at my expense buddy.

      • -3

No one is forcing you to use Cashback sites.

If you feel so strongly about it then don't use them. Then they can't keep your cashback for themselves.

        • Seriously mate can't tell if you're just trolling or a company shill.

HaHa and that's what is exactly being discussed here.

A lot of us as members of the OzB community are deciding about just that!

Taking our business else-ware and not using shopback any more.

Perhaps sticking to cashrewards as it appears as though shopback has a broken and/or incompetent and/or understaffed and/or worse system.

  • +2

Hi Shopback , still waiting for cashback from December Amazon purchase . I only got cashed for the cheaper items but not the big ticket item even though it's in the same order. Pretty disgusting tactic , I was hoping you'd be better than cashrewards. Please pay it out as its way past the three month pending date and again, items in the same order were paid when they were cheap items.

    • Hey Blorgglorg - Can you PM me with the details on this and I'll look into it today

  • -1

I just did the david jones shopping this morning as well. And shopback is not tracking.

    • hey New World Mobile - Don't worry! Tracking can take up 48hrs depending on when the brands send us the data. If you PM me your email address I'll see if I can find it in the system for you

      • But my hotels.com booking fromo 11 Mar is also not tracking.
        So disappointed on shopback

      • PM already

  • +1

Thanks for all the comments, decided to check my shopback and two orders that are still pending.

    • Hey mikey31 - Can you PM me with the details on this and I'll look into it today?

  • Agree with yah sause if no 12% today unless a real great Amazon bargain no way we spent 1k on 2 accounts . With the 12 % very easy that play .

  • +1

I have 7 transactions that is still pending after available date went pass by between 1 to 4 weeks but not being credited. No response from the enquires either

    • Hey jumanjii - Can you PM me with the details on this? Keen to help you out and get these cleared!

      • @gotyourback
i also have numerous Amazon cashbacks still pending wks after the available by dates….. pm u with my email address. pls help to look into it!
        thx!!

        • Thanks for sending the details!

  • So if I buy something that costs $58 I will get $6 (from capped $50) trought shopback or nothing at all?

    • +1

The $50 cap is the refund amount of money. So a purchase over $600ish (minus out the postage plus GST amounts) will only earn you $50 cash back.

  • Let’s rephrase the question. Has anyone here successfully redeemed their Cashback from SB?

    • Yes many times for me at least. People seem to also forget cashrewards can take some time too..

  • +1

I've just checked my shopback after reading everyone's comments & there's still stuff pending from 12/18.
Can't be bothered wasting time and effort chasing it up so Cashrewards from now on.

    • Hey Lrbwood, please send your email through to me and I'll check on it.

  • +2

Have to agree with most here…basically everything is stuck on "pending" for months, some past the 'available' date.
Happy the rep is taking PMs though, hopefully everyone gets what they were promised.

  • +2

Same situation unfortunately, bought quite a few items from Amazon via Shopback and only 1 has processed… Over $20 on pending even though it's from last year.

  • +1

Off the topic, it might be worth noting that your cash rewards will expire if your account has been inactive for over a year, and you can only withdraw a minimum of $10 each time, quite stressful if you ask me, why take our money if we don't need to use your service, and why make it only a year? and why impose a $10 minimum withdrawal amount, most of my rewards average $1.

Cashrewards states that there is no expiry date for their rewards, however if the account is inactive, no mention of longevity, then you can still get your money, but you'd need to speak to them.

  • +1

My purchase from under armour a week ago hasn't even appeared on the system.
This is the second time it's happened. Why do I even bother with SB.

    • Hey dfk367, Can you please shoot me your details - I'll check it out!

  • +1

Despite some of the negative comments on here, I'm happy to report that my experience has been pretty good with Shopback thus far. A few transactions may have come through a little longer than I'd have expected, but they did come through.
I always start fresh when I start a new shopping session, making sure Adblock is disabled for both Shopback AND Amazon, and clicking through via Shopback. Good luck OZBers!

    • +1

Yeah I have no issues at all. Tracking has always been within the time frame and cleared on the date it says. I've had around 50 transactions. I wonder if some of these complaints are from people not following the directions or applying codes that aren't valid to work for shopback etc. Probably a few cashrewards employees too

      • Probably a few cashrewards employees too

And every person complaining on CR deals are SB employees /s Don't be ridiculous. Both companies know the rules and would never risk getting themselves banned here by doing it.

Besides it's exactly as you say. People not doing the cashback process correctly.

        • I didn't say every complaint I said a few! Pretty naive to say that the two competing companies wouldn't be playing games with each other.

          • -1

@Whisper Quiet: You must be new here as that's not how it works here between the 2 companies. Not to mention it's strictly against OzBargain rules and the mods would be all over it if it happened.

Go tell the mods if you think it's happening. Otherwise false accusations have no place here.

            • -3

@Clear: Like I said you are so naive! It's not hard to make an account and comment here and there. Sounds like you work for Cashrewards the way you're defending them… Your comment has no place here

              • -1

@Whisper Quiet: That's right I'm naive and have no idea how easy it is for mods to tell if someone is sockpuppeting or not.

If I was a CR employee shouldn't I be banned on the spot for voting and commenting on a competitor's post? It's right there in the rules. Feel free to TWAM the mods about your accusation.

Besides I had an awesome time meeting the Shopback crew at Spawn Point last year. Seriously some top girls and guys working there (totally not because of the free shots)!

                • @Clear: Relax! It was a joke… Have fun at the cash rewards staff party. The point was that it's not that easy to tell who's who on internet incase you haven't noticed. Mods need to have legitimate proof to ban somebody which is very hard to do when it takes just an email account to sign up

        • As i explained just below don't always use the excuse that people are not doing the process correctly.

If one item in an order has had a successful cashback so should all the other items in that order.

          • @prxy: Let me rephrase. The issue can either be 1. not doing the process correctly, 2. an issue with the affiliate network tracking or 3. an issue at Shopback's end

It's never going to be CR/SB reps disowning each others deals. They're not stupid.

            • @Clear: I don't think it's "…CR/SB reps disowning each others deals" either.

But something can be wrong in the tracking process.

There have been many posters who also had an issue with the timeliness or no response from shopback online support.

And no amount of negging will stop me posting about it either.

              • -1

@prxy: I was just responding to Monstalova ridiculous accusation. At the time of those comments I had not actually read your response and missed the comments about their poor support.

Having never actually had to do a claim with SB, I really can't share my experience. However other people's comments are definitely concerning.

    • -4

      Have you read the complaints?

Most are from experienced OzB members.

There are several cases where one single amazon order with multiple items have had cashback awarded to some items and not others.

      Especially the more expensive items.

So how do you explain/dismiss this in terms of:

      @X2Jason

"… start fresh when I start a new shopping session, making sure Adblock is disabled for both Shopback AND Amazon, and clicking through via Shopback"

      @Monstalova

"…people not following the directions or applying codes that aren't valid to work for shopback etc"

Also that does not explain the poor customer service in terms of lengthy or simply no responses to customer queries.

  • Hi shopback, any extra % cashback on adidas? ;)

  • +1

Adding to the chorus and have sent rep a PM to follow up. My situation is 6 outstanding confirmations 5 of which were due 20 Feb or earlier with Amazon.

    • Rep followed up and all six transactions have now been confirmed earlier today.

  • +1

Just as an update, my pending cashback issue has been resolved today.
Props to the rep for actively resolving the problem and hopefully it's not jsut a quickfix without solving the root cause of the issue.

    • Thanks for the props!

We've spent a lot of time today getting into the issue with multiple teams and are confident that any root cause ShopBack can address has been seen to.

Thanks again and please do keep talking to me directly here should you or anyone in the community have a question or issue. We work hard to bring you the best offers we can and appreciate any feedback.

  • I can only talk from my experiences and I’ve had no issues at all with ShopBack. My many cash backs from Black Saturday last year tracked within time and were paid on time too, a week quicker than Cash Rewards for purchases made on the same day.

  • +1

Despite 119 upvotes and only 19 down, judging by the comments I would say this was an awful promotion for the business

    • +2

Rep is here responding to criticism and fixing up issues they can. For me I was started to lean to negative about ShopBack but this thread and the reps work has leaned me back to positive mostly.

      • Yep, rep responded to my message pretty quickly and has sorted my pending transactions.

        • +2

Wait after another two months, and then at your pending transactions it will show CANCELED. SB is is more like BS

  • +1

I have had over 60 cashback transactions with ShopBack. All except one either pending or been approved.

Very suss the largest by far, $32.55 cashback, was rejected. I inquired about this, was asked to provide invoice/info. I sent this and then my support ticket was just closed couple days later at 10pm.

And now still same boat as others orders from Boxing Day that were meant to clear still sitting as pending.

But still, highest cashback usually so keep using them lol. Hopefully they can fix the customer service side up a bit.

    • Anything I can help with? DM me with your email if needed, deelaroo.

  • Most of my cashbacks has been processed, apart from 3 that I messaged rep about. They were all sorted when I check a minute ago. My experience has been positive and I will continue to use SB

    • Thanks Johnny, glad we could help out. Thanks for your support!

  • After reading a few comments about pending transactions from December i then went to check my own account. Ive got one too!

    • Hey godzilla123, sounds like I can help out - shoot me a message with the details.

  • +1

It's crazy that Shop back won't admit the problem with their Amazon AU and credit people with the $50 they owe from the previous "flash" sale back in Dec. What's worse is that the date on all these transactions are completely out of whack so there's no way to challenge it with Shop Back or contact Amazon AU about it. I should add that they are not "pending". They have actually be rejected!

    • Hi cya,

When we see things go wrong we do definitely do want to help out to resolve it. I personally will apologise to you for some of the negative experiences you've had with us and right now I'd like to fix your issues up.

Yesterday I offered to help you out but I have not heard directly back from you/received any PMs from you yet.

We have not closed our doors on you to appeal these transactions, and we are encouraging you to please do so if they don't align with the possible rejection reasons (eg. order being returned/cancelled, using gift cards as payment).

We can definitely begin this if you could send us a PM with the email address you're using on ShopBack. Should we require additional info we'll let you know.

  • +2

it said on their website to track Groupon or other transaction within 2 days, my last 5 purchase never got tracked.

I don't really trust Shopback any more. But honestly 35 days to investigate for missing cashback is not up to the bar.

Please @gotyourback fix your system or no one is going to use it no matter how good to cash back is.

    • +1

      Hi SnoozeAndLose,

I know it's frustrating when your cashback does not track. While we would like to minimise the time it takes to investigate, often it's the stores that take a while to get back to us (some might only want to sort things out in batches at certain times of the month for example).

If you don't mind could you send us a PM with the email address you're using on ShopBack for us to keep an eye on the transactions you submitted claims for?

  • +2

    Here is my experience.

    1. Contact Gotyourback to advise cashback claim submitted and nothing heard.
    2. GotyourBack advised someone has looked at it and contact me - Nope.
    3. After advising nobody has replied - support replied saying they could not find the cashback claim (submitted via google forms)
    4. I replied saying I had completed the cashback claim and asked them to look again
    5. Shopback replied saying "Oh okay then, it will take up to 35 days" but didn't confirm they found it.
    6. At the same time Gotyourback asked me to resupply the invoices in email - which I did for good measure.
    7. Got an email to say they support are looking into it.
    8. Got another email with instructions on how I can redeem my Groupon??

    Here is what I think.

    1. Shopback seem to have poorly documented and implemented processes for handling anything that is out of the norm.
    2. Shopback seem to employee cheap staff that do not understand the process, business nor the context of the support requests.
  • not tracking at all
