[Hack] $9.65 Small Big Mac Meal+ "Double Fillet-O-Fish" Hacked @ McDonald's via Mymacca's App + Counter

To my dear fellow fillet o fish lover ozBgn'ers.

This hack requires both app and at counter (I can’t seem to add steamed bun to cheeseburger order and there doesn’t seem to be an option for fillet o fish portions)

STEP 1 VIA APP
Order the $5.95 Big Mac Meal with Cheeseburger in the McClassics section of app.
Customize Cheeseburger: No Ketchep, No Regular Onions, No Regular Beef Patty, No Pickles, No Salt & Pepper. [Just Bu and a full slice of cheese]
PLACE ORDER. (Click through to payment section and make payment. You will then follow steps to check in and confirm you have arrived in store. Then you will receive an Order number ie: 148; to confirm your order has gone into the stores system)
https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/76531/68015/img-201903…

STEP 2 AT COUNTER
Point to your 148 order on screen and say; “that weird cheeseburger there, it is only bun and cheese, please ask the cooks at back to steam the bun like they do for fillet o fishes”
Then order:
1 x Tartare Sauce
2 x Fillet o Fish Portions
Pay and they will give you another order number.
Then say to the checkout staff; “please bag the 2 orders up together”
https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/76531/68013/img-201903…

Big Mac Meal with Cheeseburger $5.95 ORDER VIA APP (AT COUNTER; POINT AND ASK FOR STEAMED BUN TO THE CHEESBURGER)
1 Tartare Sauce $0.50 ORDER AT COUNTER/ OR ADD TO APP
2 Fillet Fish Portions $3.20 ORDER AT COUNTER
TOTAL $9.65

https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/76531/68012/img-201903…

I put the 2x fish portions inside the emtpy steamed cheeseburger; then dip the thing into the tub of tartare sauce.

[a normal fillet of fish is made of half a slice of cheese only; a double fillet of fish is 2x halfs slices of cheese, i think the ingredients are identical]

Full price Double Fillet of Fish burger only is $6.75. Big Mac $5.90. Small coke $2.60. Small Fries $2.20
This equates to $17.45 vs $9.65 [45% off]

OR
small mac meal @$9.70 + double fillet of fish burger only at $6.75
This equates to $16.45 vs $9.65 [41% off]

[please don't hate this post too much. I love a food ol fresh fillet o fish; and hate paying over $10 for McD's at the same time]

That's ridiculous, I'd rather pay than go through that crazy process..

    • +3

      Thrifty.
(Pains me to pay full price)

      • +21

Oh you're still paying full price alright. The rest of the cost is your dignity trying to order this.

        • +5

Shame Saving is the pro terminology

  • +9

    STEP 2 AT COUNTER
Point to your 148 order on screen and say; “that weird cheeseburger there, it is only bun and cheese, please ask the cooks at back to steam the bun like they do for fillet o fishes”

They don't have to do this.

    Then order:
    1 x Tartare Sauce
    2 x Fillet o Fish Portions

And you can just get these and retain a whole cheeseburger since Step 2 isn't a deal, it's claiming a different item from one that was purchased.

Good on your for the effort. It was an entertaining read but not really a deal.

    • +6

      Thanks for not negging man.

Yup. They dont have to steam the bun. (But i have not been knocked back to date)

HACKED Fillet o Fish bro. $6.75 for a double one is expensive as!!

Notes that the McD’s staff do not have to do this steam burger request.
But just a normal cheese burger bun and cheese is fine in by me.
      Then…
      Order
      1 x Tartare Sauce
      2 x Fillet o Fish Portions
Pay and they will give you another order number.
Then say to the checkout staff; “please bag the 2 orders up together”
      $0.50 Tartare Sauce
      $3.20 2x Fillet Fish Portions

      TOTAL = $4.10
VS RRP Double Fillet o Fish $6.75
Equates to about 39% off RRP

Reply from staff, that weird guy ordered No Ketchep, No Regular Onions, No Regular Beef Patty, No Pickles, No Salt & Pepper. [Just Bun and a full slice of cheese]

Poor thing, he must have hit his head on the door when he came in.

I have a better hack, go to coles and buy a bottle of oil, bag of sugar and a bag of salt. Mix them together and drink.

    • +2

But that would just be my breakfast juice and not a fish burger.

    • -1

What's wrong with sodium and fat? The sugar I understand, just skip the fizzy drinks.

            • @freemoneyhunter: How's the air up there on your high horse?

              • @Skinnerr: I'm just trying to help people, eating cheeseburgers at McDonald's is bad, everyone knows it but cognitive dissonance/compartmentalisation and deficit in thought promoted by advertising enables incorrect eating choices, not only themselves but they will even give their children this food. People need to wake up to the mass stupidity of eating fast food, it causes diabetes, food poisoning, artery and heart disease, dementia, shortens lifespan, ages the skin, poor eyesight, depression, overweight and obesity and many other diseases. Get the idea of McDonald's as a happy place with happy meals and everyone having fun and children are happy completely out of your head, advertising has brainwashed people into believing this, the average person will see over 100 positive pieces of advertising for fast food every day.

Put your hands to your head and concentrate very hard to break the mental conditioning.

haha. only fillet fish lovers will understand.

double fillet of fishes are top sellers in hongkong

      • +6

I appreciate the effort but how much are you saving here like $3? Why not put this much effort into your career?

        • +11

          This is his career.

          • @JerryB: Then he should get a new one where success isn’t measured by saving $3. Is this not obvious?

        • +2

$7+ savings for 2-3mins is pretty good for me.

Wish I had a 9-5job paying that well

          • @chinezejew: You probably need to focus elsewhere then.

            • +5

              @Icecold5000: @$7 per 3mins that equates to $140/hr.
if i can earn that 9-5 for 5days a week

              $140 x 40…. im rich biatch

              • @chinezejew: It's not $7. Double Fillet O Fish is $6.75. So $13.75 all up.

Your deal is $9.65 and you lose a cheeseburger. So the savings is $4.10 minus a cheeseburger, which is around $3. So you're really saving around $1.

        • +3

He's been hard at work on the Penski file, and figured this out on a break.

      • I was in hong kong in November and February, did not see double fillet o fish on any HK Mcdonalds menu. I did notice though the fish portion in HK was larger than the one we get here in OZ

        • I never order fillet o fish here because it's likely not fresh due to it not being popular. It doesn't taste good neither.

        • +2

they had the double posters poster posted up everywhere when i was there 12months ago.
fillet o fish is a popular seller in HK (maybe asia)
I think it was $30 HKD for double fillet o fish.
          FRESH and yummy in HK

    • Yep. I've had it twice. Both times I burped fish for the rest of the day. (Just before the second time I'd forgotten about the first time. I no longer forget either.)

  • +6

    • +2

yer. sorry for the typos. there are a few in there

    • +1

Maccas staff dont reccomend it because they know how long that insipid little patty sits in the artificial warmer for. I always ask for mine to be cooked fresh.

    • +2

I really want to ask why not, but somehow feel like I shouldn't…

Edit: and too slow and someone posted above…

  • Am impressed you figured this out. Might try it later.

    • +2

if you have time to wait a bit… ask for the fish portions fresh… they come out HOT and crunchy.

  • +3

Why lose out on a beef patty on the cheeseburger? Better value to keep it on and just transfer it to the Big Mac

    • +2

      very true.
I'll try get them to transfer the customized outs into the bigMAC!!

Medical science has made good progress for such conditions.

  • +2

if you hate paying over $10 in maccas, dont eat maccas then. Spent more than $10 in some other food places.

you do know that maccas are fast food and you are delaying the queue when people like us want it fast and it becomes slow because of your hack.

The staff are not not well paid and have to bear with your hack.

hope you end up working in maccas one day and getting the hack being tried on you as many times on you.. no neg votes, but karma happens..

    • +7

      menu allows it
my hack allows me to pay under $10
the staff choose to work at maccas & maccas exploit workers.

my order is screwing you up. sucks to be you. menu allows it. suck it up big fella

you sound like a McD lover. or have you worked at maccas before? so compassionate you are.

paying less for the same is good OzBgning in my books

      • -5

karama is also free.. comes in 3sizes.. small medium and large.

you would want a free and large size karma.. all free for you. good luck, troll.

sucks to be you. selfish and pathetic

        • +2

          Karma

          I've hurt you?

@chinezejew: Na, i dont work at those. The good thing is i dont make it difficult for other being you. Sorry you.

What an achievement making lives difficult and being proud of it.
Some of them dont have a choice, you might not know any people that worked at maccas living in your lonely palace.

            • @zzzsianzzz: Geez the attacks.

Dude. I have maccas once every 2months at best. If I've hurt you I apologize.

              Chill. Saturday night.

I'll have another drink with the money I saved with last nights snack.

I'll sleep fine about it mate.

I hardly live in a palace. Room sharing sucks mate.

You must have more money than me

              • -1

@chinezejew: just to make your system understand better, some people have allergies and have to remove things from the standard.

if you have an allergy, try having tons of it and see what happens. some remove meat for diets.

if they remove those from their system they will close or your hacks cause the maccas to close. your neighbourhood will definitely love u. try telling them that.

                its not a bargain.

dont have to be an arse to the society to get bargains is my bottom line.

                • @zzzsianzzz: If I could be arsed I would do this.
I wouldn't do it to my local fish and chip shop though.

                • @zzzsianzzz: So what you're saying is, McD has no way to tell if he's ordering it that way to avoid the allergies of someone who may waiting in the carpark for their dinner. ;-D

                    @GregMonarch: Peace,

                    • -1

@zzzsianzzz: When he goes to hell, i can burn it him hell notes for his escorts to give him a one way ride… One less turd in aust… lol…

                    • @zzzsianzzz: Really, I see these posts as the goose at the group BBQ who's had too much to drink. (Humour factor more than practical factor.) I tried one of these types of things once and felt my IQ dropped by doing it. ;-p

      • Menu allows it x4
