I am happy i went 3 minutes after opening today morning :)

  • Just out of interest, the data is for 12 months is the text/ calls and international calls to any carrier also for 12 months? cheers

    • +1

Yes, 80GB for 12 months. No data top up. Data will stop working when you run out of data unless you change plans or recharge $150 to get another 12 months and 80GB.

Call to anyone in AUS is unlimited as well. I think it 6 or 8 hours per day?
"UNLIMTED STND CALLS & TEXT TO 25 SELECTED DESTINATIONS:Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, USA, Vietnam
PLUS 1200 STND MIN & TEXT TO 30 SELECTED DESTINATIONS:Afghanistan, America Samoa, Brunei, Cambodia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Guam, Hungry, Iceland, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, Laos, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Mongolia, Nepal, Norway, Peru, Puerto Rico, Romania, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sri Lanka, SwedenPLUS 1200 STND MMS T"

      • just, curious can anyone else confirm, that unlimited calls in aus is limited to 6 hours per day?

        • You need to call them to confirm the fair use limit. Most consumer won’t be calling for more than 6 hours per day every day of the week.

Keep in mind that this plan is for personal use.

          • @LucyDartnell: Ok i was just curious. Thanks

Also with boost are you able to keep track of all calls and sms like i can currently do with Vodafone prepaid

            • @ATTS: Looks like a Yes for that…
It shows time date duration logs when you click "History" on the boost app.
So all calls and texts with individual costs(if any)….
              :)

Just tried to buy this but no one at Cole's could get it to work. Kept on saying "item not added" when they were trying to ring it up.

    • Facing this same issue at Coles in Brisbane CBD. They are saying Catalogue items are not honoured at City Stores. Is it? I doubt.

    • This deal has 600+ upvotes. The original deal has 1100+ upvotes. It seems this deal is for quite a few people.

      • +2

80GB should be enough for most people if they don't view videos or load a lot of photos while out and about as WIFI is everywhere now (home and work)

        • Exactly. My phone is hardly ever not on wifi.

          • @Buyingcrap: A lot of people moved to the $99 Aldi plan which has unlimited call + SMS and 12GB.
For $36* more, they can use anytime they like with the added benefit of calling overseas! (Based on the assumption that 12GB is a lot already)

            REF: https://www.aldimobile.com.au/plans/99-super-pack/
*Based on purchasing recharge for $135

          • @Buyingcrap: Same. Both my home and workplace have wifi coverage so I only use mobile internet to stream music when I'm out. But then I listen to the same songs most times so they're all cached so I barely use more than 2gb/month

    • -2

Rubbish. I use internet on my phone all the time and 6GB is plenty. Get off the porn sites dude.

      • The only person who is being honest! I hope I don't see you drinking coffee and watching those videos

    • +3

You're like that other big spender that couldn't disconnect.

    • Comment removed.

  • Anyone know if you can use the $150 credit on a different plan, or is it locked to the 80gb 12 months plan?

    • +1

A rep has confirmed above that you can stack 2 x $150 credits to switch up to the $300 plan.

      • So, $135 x 2 = $270.
        Gift card at 5% off. 2 x $ 100 and 1 x $50 = $237.50 + $20 cash = $247.50 = $20.625/month for 20GB/month + all the other exras

*let me know if my math is incorrect and if you want, you can add another 4 x $5 gift card into the mix.

        • +1

          $237.50 + $20 cash = $257.50 = $21.458/month

$21.38 if you buy the entire value with gift cards.

          ;)

  • Just tried to buy this at MQ Cole's could get it to work. Kept on saying "item not added”

    • +2

      Could or Couldn't ?

    • I tried at Broadway Coles and didn't work. We tried at the Service counter and self serve but didn't work.

I believe the Coles has sold out all the voucher they had on their system. Probably they need to order/buy more recharge vouchers from the Boost.

    • Sorry couldn’t

  • Sorry noob question. My understanding is that one first ports their own number to Boost and then recharges so that the number can be retained.

If I am recharging over the counter at Coles, how can I retain my number since the sim will already be activated and having credit on it?

    • +1

You dont recharge at Coles. You just buy the recharge voucher. Use the normal porting process to activate your Boost Prepaid and then use the Recharge Voucher to recharge.

      • Thank you 😊

  • I'm using the old tariff from boost not changed over to there new one as found old was cheaper and suited me better,I need to check somewhere but I pay $20 per month and have option to pay $40 but I can't remember the gb date I get with $20. As this deal is running of $150 boost for $135 can I just keep my current boost sim and add this deal to it meaning I don't have to get a new sim and keep my same number?
If say after a year I believe I not have the option to go back to my current tarrif of $20 per month as it's no longer offered.
Obviously with paying $20 per month m paying $240 a yr,this is far better but what do I get unlimited. Calls and txt and 80gb right? And I believe am able to call overseas.

    • I am hoping that there will be better deals or similar deals of this type in the next 12 months.

  • -1

If everyone start getting error and couldn't buy, wonder people will start negging this deal, haha!

    • Deal getting Ozbargained Not = Negging :-)

      • They wouldn't have a limited number available would they?

        • I hope it doesn't vanish from the other channels too, eg: Woolies, Boost website.

    • +1

There's no reason to neg the deal.

People are not getting the deal because they are unable to read.

      • +1

I think you are wrong because I bought one earlier today then two hours later at the same store it had become unavailable when I went to pick up a second for my partner.

        • I tried at Broadway Coles and didn't work. We tried at the Service counter and self serve but didn't work.

I believe the Coles has sold out all the voucher they had on their system. Probably they need to order/buy more recharge vouchers from the Boost.

          • +2

@jubz: I was able to buy one just then so your theory about Coles running out is incorrect.

            • @capslock: Thanks, will go and try again at Broadway to see if it works.

          • +1

@jubz: Working now at the same store that rejected the sale earlier.

            • @Buyingcrap: It did work this time at the same store (Broadway). I was just able to buy the $150 voucher without a sim card for $135 at self serve checkout without any assistance.

  • +19

PROTIP: Go to their self check out and do an item search, then prepaid mobile voucher, then Boost mobile, select the $150 voucher, it will come up at $135
    - Buy the $2 sim later as most store would have run out of the sim by now.

    • does this overcome the "connection errors" being reported?

      • This is what i, i grab a $2 sim, proceed to self check out and ask the attendant to add the $150 recharge, it then ask for some pin, the attendant scan her card and key in her pass. I then paid $135.
Then 2 mins later i tried it again, this time without a $2 sim, it all went smooth, without any issue, and no pin was needed

    • my coles tried that too, didn't work either.

      • Update: working fine now and bought 2 vouchers with free $2 sims

    • thanks for tip; can confirm it worked

  • So after 12 months or once 80gb is used, which ever happens first. What happens? Can I then switch over to the monthly plan?

    • Once 80GB is used, you recharge $150 or change to another plan

  • +1

Or you can keep using it for unlimited dial and text until day 365 without data, as long as you can live on free wifi …

    • +5

Or if you have a dual SIM phone, you can buy a data SIM for more data

  • Just bought a voucher without issue at self-checkout. Didn't need a SIM yet - couldn't find one around and didn't bother to ask a staff to find out as it was quite busy at lunchtime.

  • 3x $2 SIM cards left on hook at Vic Gardens, bought recharge at checkout with no issues

  • Those looking for this deal in Sydney CBD go to coles world square store. Just got 1 from there via self checkout. No sim available though

  • +1

Available now at the same store that couldn't process it before.

  • Just got 1 from Melbourne CBD (Elizabeth St). No $2 sims, but got the recharge through the self service check-out no problem. Walked around the corner to Woolworths Metro on Flinders St and got the Sim from there.

  • +3

Went in today and picked up 2. A little confusing so I thought I'd share.

In the catalogue its displayed like it is a sim you get off the shelf but is actually just the $2 sim off the shelf and then a recharge of 150. At the counter after they scan the sim and put in the 150 recharge the system reduces the total cost to 135.

Went to 2 different coles before someone at the counter figured out what was up and sorted it out for me.

Also the expiry for both is a huge - Sim expires 27 AUG 2020 and the credit 17 JAN 2019. Heaps of time to run out your current plans.

    • 17 JAN 2019?

  • Just FYI guys. Some officeworks may still have the old boost sims for $0.04
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/441293

May be hard to find but when I last looked a month ago there were like over 20 at my local expiring end of May. I highly doubt that many people signed up to Boost mobile locally with quick expiring sims.

Or just get a $2 from any place really.

  • Bought 2 x $2 sims and $150 recharge on each at Coles, Caversham, WA….$270 ($135 ea). Perfect timing for our Kogan (never again) 365 plans to run out :)

  • Can anyone elaborate on the process to port from Telstra pre-paid to Boost? Never ported before, do i activate the Boost sim and then phone a number to request the port, port it and then recharge the Boost sim?

    • +3

You need a blank SIM (mailed to you by Boost) not a retail bought SIM for starters. If on Telstra postpaid, you have to call Telstra to convert to prepaid before calling Boost to port your Telstra phone number.

      • Awesome thanks, i've called Boost and they are mailing out a sim.

        • The person I received on the phone needed to confer with a manager to understand what I meant by a blank SIM though. If anyone has some insider industry knowledge of what else it might be referred to in order to smooth the process, I'm all ears.

    • Go on the boost website to port and follow the instructions. You'll have to enter the sim serial number. I ported from optus yesterday and did it via the site. Didn't have to call anyone. You can leave your existing sim in your phone, once it is ported the sim will say something like 'emergency calls only' and then you can turn off the phone, remove the old sim and put the new one in

  • +2

Bought 4, first store said they didn't have any as they were looking on the boost stand for the $150 long expiry in a pack. Went to another store and they correctly gave me 4x $2 Sim cards (hidden behind the $200 packs) and 4x$150 recharge vouchers for $135 a piece. Bye bye Kogan

  • Anyone knows the process to port from Aldi mobile?

    • Normal prepaid process.

It's only Telstra to Boost that is different.

  • Coles Penrith doesn't have the 80GB plans in stock despite being listed in their physical and online catalogue… Annoying!

    • +1

You can just get a printed voucher from the point of sale. Just go to self serve/ assisted checkout and ask them for mobile recharge, tell them $150 Boost recharge. It will automatically get adjusted to $135. I bought mine from self serve.

      • Yeah, I ended up grabbing the last SIM at Coles in Surry Hills and printed voucher for $135. Cheers 😀

        • +1

I just bought one there - they've restocked.

  • Just brought 2 x $2 sim with $135 recharge at Waverley Garden in VIC. Roughly 30+ $2 sim left 10 mins ago

  • +1

    Got two, thanks OP.
Picked $2 SIM and then went to Self checkout, selected $150 recharge under Boost Prepaid Recharges, price came down to $135 and free sim.
Recharge expiry is 17/01/2021 and SIM card 9 Oct 2020.

  • It's available at Coles Point Cook (Vic)

  • You can't charge it online. You gotta use the app I think or dial its recharge number.

I bought one today to charge my mums phone. I went online to charge and there is no option to enter code from coles receipt. Only usual recharge options.

I'll get the receipt to my mum tomorrow and try it.

    • Yes . Need to disable WiFi. (It use the service number to identify you from mob data which is not using your quota of data )

Then need to use the add voucher code option. Then type in the voucher code is from the coles reciept.
Then it shows 80GB data and 1 year from today as end date.
      :)

      • @ozbris

Dud it show the international minutes aswell?

        • Yes..it shows that too..
          :)

      • @ozbris

since the recharge voucher has a voucher code, does that mean even if they cancel the $150 deal later on, you can still recharge the $150 deal as long as you do it before expiry date on the voucher?

    • Can't you just goto boost.com.au from PC and recharge there instead of via your phone?

      • Yes..but then thats a $150 recharge I think. For this $15 off offer, we have to buy from coles, then have that voucher code entered through the mobile app. I cant find a place to enter the voucher code in PC mode..

  • Heaps of sims at TTP, SA. Went through fine.

  • It doesn't seem available in Melbourne. I checked 4 Coles stores today for this and none of them received it :(

    • It's available, ask the counter staff instead of looking at self.

    • +1

Just go to the self check out and search for the voucher. I bought it this afternoon at Melbourne central

    • Neither at Coles Knox nor Ferntree Gully (Melbourne Outer East).
Staffs didn't know if they would receive it later :(

      • Check Coles Vermont South, got one this afternoon. They were few in the service desk cupboard.

      • There are heaps at Waverley Garden

    • +3

Definitely available in Melbourne. Make sure you are asking for a $150 recharge and not an 80Gb pack. It is very easy to get through the self service check-out, just follow the screen prompts and select the $150 recharge, which gets reduced to $135.

      • Thanks mate, also find the note from @bargainfinder above.
        It's a recharge, not a pack!
All staffs I asked thought it's a pack.

  • Just want to ask are there any prepaid plans out there which support SIM + eSIM (I.e. one for phone and one for Apple Watch)? Thanks.

    • Nah, I believe you can only get esim with postpaid, unfortunately.

      • Thanks for your reply. :)
