    • no, I tried, they don't use this rewards in tas.
in tas it's frequent shopper card.
      in mainland it's woolworths reward.

      • Ah, so sadly :(

      • Wow, didn't know this. Haven't been to TAS yet

  • Went to Lakemba NSW to pyrchase a few. I got the last set of $100. I got 11 exactly (but 15 minutes before I went I rang and they had 75) I was told someone came in and bought all the other ones before I got there. Wow!

  • Remember paying solely with eBay gift cards means you don't get PayPal buyer protection. I'm not sure however if you make a partial payment with PayPal you'll get protection on the full purchase amount.

    • you still can add your paypal even you pay fully with gift card

    • Isn't the ebay gift cards are issued by paypal?

  • bought webjet 26x$100 gift card from 3 different locations, 10 card limit for 1 transaction, I did not do another transaction in one shop, because staff look at me like I am a scammer.

ebay gif cards are all gone……..

pay my gift cards with The American Express® Platinum Edge Credit Card, Earn 3 Membership Rewards points per dollar spent at major supermarkets and petrol stations. it's about 200 points for 1 dollar.

    • 200 points for $1 if you buy $1000 then 200,000 points?

  • I wonder if wollies will restock these Ebay gift cards onto the shelves.

    • They did last time, right at the end of the sale week

  • Has anyone seen anything official stating that you can do 10x$100 transactions multiple times? I've seen people say they did 2x transactions each with 10x$100 cards with success.

I'm looking to purchase 100+ if I can find stock, so want to make sure I'm covered from a T&C perspective if things don't work out, but I can't find any information.

    • Wellcome to do that and resell it on classified for members like me who can only find 2x100 in WA. I might need to get it from the classified forum @ 5% off when I need to buy something on eBay.

      • I don't want to resell. I buy a lot on eBay so just looking to minimise my costs. My local store is holding 40 for me now but I'll see if more stock is on the way.

      • +1

I encourage Broden to do that ….
At least it will end up on classified at at least 5% off for less frequent shoppers.

      • I wouldn't mind reselling any unused on the classifieds but problem is not being able to get it for cash first… hard as they wont want to part with cash first… but neither as a seller would you want to .

An update for those curious. I bought 65 cards today and the receipt showed all points being credited.

An interesting thing is the cashier appears to have a limit per transaction of 10 cards or $1000, whichever is hit first. I'm told a store manager can override this and the points will still credit, but my local one wasn't available.

Also if you do this be prepared for your bank to assume you're being scammed and block your card :-)

      • Being told if you buy $1000 or more need to supply the ABN,but i brought $1000 another one didnt ask, the receipt do have empty business information there

  • Jeez, none left at woolworths stores around my place.

  • Did a lap of Melbourne CBD and couldn't find a single Metro (Flinders, Sthn Cross or Swanston) that have any of these. QV do, but the $100 cards are hidden and you have to ask at the counter for them. I assume they are rationing them? $50s are on the rack but there's only a single rack and it looks like it's down to around 20 of them so I don't give them long. Gone out with a fizzle, this promo has.

  • Anyway of checking the points balance ?
And where and when and how much points is redeemed?

  • Heaps at Sydney Town hall CBD.

    • Ground floor? it was empty when I was there 1pm

      • mm i was there at lunchtime. ground and train level were empty

        • There's a lot on the ground floor at the moment.

  • am surprised why every shop ive been to still has heaps of $50,

    obviously $100 is better

    • Marginally better IMHO. I am not planning on any huge value purchases so I am not worried about using $50s. I think the reason so many are around is because the promo shows the $100 and people have taken it too literally.

      • That will be my plan b next week if i can't find any more 100s

      • +1

I think it’s because u can only use up to 8 giftcards per transaction.

        • I used 15x $100 cards in a single transaction today.

  • so how many cards at once can be put through ebay to pay? need $1200 and WW only has $50 ones

    • Supposedly 8 codes per transaction. That’s why $100 cards are more popular than $50s.

      • Just used 11 to buy a S10+

        • +1

It stopped me at 15x $100 today on a $1900 item.

  • +2

Be cool TA you put $50 get 1000 pts .

Might help stop the imbalance of $100's vs $50's everywhere to a small degree :)

  • +6

No more than a total of $2000 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per day, and no more than a total of $5000 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per calendar month. Further, you may only redeem a maximum of eight Gift Cards in any single transaction (and fewer if you are redeeming Gift Cards in combination with other redemption codes, such as coupons or vouchers).

I've been hit with the 2k and 5 k limits last time around .

But the 8 cards in a single transaction is wrong .

    • Brilliant thanks.

  • Can you use AUD gift cards on a foreign currency listing?

Say US$1000 item and you choose to pay in USD to avoid eBay's exorbitant exchange rate.

    • You can. but who do you decides what USD is equivalent to in AUD? I've done it before, the rates weren't the greatest.

      • Not sure what you just said.

I choose to use credit card currency conversion which is better than Paypal conversion.

        • But you're paying in gift cards not your credit card.

          • @clone: My example was poor.

Say US$2000 item and I've put in the maximum of 15 x AU$100 gift cards. For the remainder coming out of my credit card, can I choose to charge the card in USD or has using the gift cards locked me into eBay/Paypal conversion for the entire amount?

  • +2

You can use gift card to pay but PP converts exchange rate to for example $1 AUD = .5128 GBP ( real XE = .5382 GBP )

    Lose nearly 5% .

    • Thanks.

What about say a US$2000 item. After you max out 15 x AU$100 gift cards, can you still charge the remainder to credit card in USD?

  • Bought 9 x $100 ebay cards today thru self check out. Gift cards were activated successfully (paid with my credit card. First tried to pay with wish e-gift card but system would not let me) but the bonus points were not loaded instantly. I panicked but in the end the points showed up in my account after about 3 hours. So the points may not be added to your rewards card immediately.

  • Anyone knows where else to buy these gift cards in Perth? I have been to 3 surrounding stores so far, and none of them had stock. :(

  • Burwood East woolworths got about 50, $100 ones in stock. Its on a table near self checkouts and not on the isles

  • I wasn't able to use the woolworths reward $10 off for gift cards. Anhone else can?

    • Works on Ebay gift cards and same 10% bonus :)

  • Can I use Woolworths wish card to buy the eBay card? Or not allowed?

    • I tried last night buying a $100 ebay card with a $100 wish gift card. It did not work for me. The display said something like 'error - payment type cant be used on purchase'.

    • No. This has not been allowed for some time.

  • Anyone got some extra gift cards from this promo ?Need help to get $150 eBay gift card to complete one of my purchase.

  • +2

My local Woolworths has a big stack of $100 cards (very quiet store). Is there any way I can help people who can't get any?

    • -2

      Yeh….

Please buy them all and put on classified for 8% discount….rather than 10%. People will love you for it

    • Yes. Name the store.

  • All sold out in Hornsby NSW for last 4 days

  • Still available at Woolworths wentworthville.

  • +3

Can confirm points issued on $50 cards as well.

Was a bit worried when the checkout guy said it wont

    • Oh, didn't realise that. So $50 ebay GC = 1000 rewards points?

      • Yes

        • but today the people told me only the $100 enjoy the promotion

          • @Ethandong: Well I have $2K worth of $50 gift cards that say they are wrong

          • @Ethandong: Fake news! Who are these bad actors?

          • @Ethandong: Take what a woolworths staff or manager says with a grain of salt

sometimes, its ego, some times its ignorance, sometimes its just theyre having a bad day

ive been to stores that say 3, 5, 10 is the limit,
ive some ask for me ID for random transactions,

one manager, offered to order in 100 in for me

the system is programmed to be the same nationwide, what works in one will work the same nationwide, despite what the staff says

  • Got 10 cards + 10 cards through self check out. Thanks for sharing the bargain.

  • Northbridge and North Sydney don't have any.

  • +1

but today the people told me only the $100 enjoy the promotion

Somewhere just above advised OP to put $50's in getting 1000 pts , 2nd ping .

Save's the confusion besides being a major part of the promotion .

    • They have no idea what they are talking about

      • I purchased 20 x $100 and 20 x $50 they all work fine. Test it yourself prior to paying because the self check out system will prompt and notify you of the rewards points.

I've done both 5 x 100 and 10 x 100 in one transaction, all points credited immediately. Same girl saw me two days in a row -felt a bit awkward haha.

  • My local Preston wow restocked today, bought 20 $100 ebay cards, plus 200 sports stick for kids' school.

  • Heaps of stock at Jesmond if anyone in the Newcastle area is chasing some

  • Bought $2200 in total. Will comfirm how much the cap for me.

  • The $100 ones probably have more value considering the 8 voucher limit per eBay transaction.

    • You should read the comments

  • Town Hall ww left with 20-25 cards of $100 denomination.

  • Used 19 cards in a single transaction . Someone beat me and lets see the real cap :)

    • Lucky! I was able to do 15 only!

      • it wouldn't let me enter any more after 30 x $50 vouchers

  • Confirmed:

Maximum of 15 ebay gift card per transaction.

Maximum of 20 ebay gift card per day!

  • Bought the last $50 card at Westfield Doncaster Woolworths today

  • +3

I just redeemed 16 $50 cards in one transaction and have redeemed 35 in total today.

    Just as an FYI

  • Anyone know where can I find stock in Brisbane?

    • Sherwood had dozens of both $50 and $100 yesterday arvo. Moorooka had none.

    Confirmed:
Maximum of 15 ebay gift card per transaction.
Maximum of 20 ebay gift card per day!

Actually 20 per transaction Confirmed :)

    • +1

It seems like the maximum is 15 x $100 gift cards or 30 x $50 gift cards, eBay's limit seems to be value based not number of cards based.

  • +1

There were at least 20 x $100 and loads of $50 at Woolworths Wyndham Vale VIC (Greens Road) late last night.

  • -2

I’ve called three stores in NSW
    - all out of stock
    - will be receiving new stock “Thursday this week”
    - “apparently some Asians put it on a community website and people came last week to get 30, 40, 50 cards in one transaction!”

    • +5

      Asians?? wtf

    • +8

i'm asian and i have bought some after using this community website.

      • +2

Quick, someone tell Today Tonight about this

      • +2

What's the website? Post here so ozbargainers can be asian.

    • +2

Probably not the best comment to post pointing at asians.

People who buy these cards would 99% be aussie as this is Ebay.au

If u say this about the baby formula,
Yeh, I would agree bloody asians stealing all our formula for our home grown bubs.

      • +5

I’m just quoting what the Woolworths store rep locally told me. I’m not here to judge/be annoyed at fellow ozbargainers. All “Asians” are people. People are allowed to buy. This is clearly out of line from Woolworths staff
