@andrew1879: Pretty sure you're mistaken. I just tried a test transaction using the current Myer discount code with some eBay gift cards already attached to my account. The 20% discount voucher code component remained the same regardless of whether gift card(s) were included in the transaction.

This is explained by Woolies as being an issue due to scams and they've implemented a ban on all purchases as a result.

Yes based on previous experience, the person at the checkout processed the gift card as a separate transaction so I could use the E gift card for groceries

@Niczoom: Seems the eBay system only allows up to 8 codes to be entered, so if you've entered a promo code, this leaves 7 gift card codes that you can enter. Not sure if this is a recent change.

Isn't the ebay gift card like cash, it will be used on the balance of the remaining 80% price tag.
If one paid for the item with ebay gift card first, then applies the PMUM20 code, the PMUM20 would have no effect as the balance is 0 after fully paid by the ebay gift card.
That's how it should work, codes should be applied in the order entered, unless eBay changed the algorithm so that each code has a rank and is applied based on the rank.

Best method is to buy all with no points used all . Guarantees 10% back in points each card purchases and end results is squillions of pts to figure out best use latter . Another advantage is CC pts maximized as well . Don't forget to get your school charity stickers .

guys, double check that the card gets activated. one of mine had 'activation was not successful'. I got a refund for that one.
Does the receipt show "activation was successful" if successful? In my case, the lady at the counter just scanned the gift card and handed it to me. I asked her if activation was required but she said no.
You get the normal receipt for purchase and one small receipt for the activation. It says activation was succesful

Plenty of $50 cards available in Parramatta Westfield WW. Over 50 I’d say. Make sure to look near the assisted checkouts. Most assisted checkouts have GC racks near the bottom where you leave out the shopping baskets.

How do your check out with your Woolworths credit? I tried but wouldn’t work. I even did it at self check out and when it prompted the screen to use Woolworths credit and at check out still show full amount of the gift card to pay.

Yes I have purchased them and have the $50 dollar everyday rewards credit in my account. Odd thing when I check out, it says "Do you wish to use woolworths credit" I said yes, then next check out, asked me to pay $50 for the $50 gift card. Spoke to the store manager they say not applicable for gift card purchase. Two stores gave me the same answer. This is for the self check out as well. Really confused at the moment with all people with great success using their everyday reward credit.

Tried to check out another 1 x $50 eBay gift card, at the final check out, it asked me to confirm using Woolworths rewards $50 credit, I pressed "yes" then at the final checkout, it prompts me payment option, I can only select card, this at self check out kiosk, then next final step, it asked me to pay $50, Woolworths credit wasn't applied.
@cloudie9: I know this issue. In the situation when the owing amount is less than 10c(maybe) or 0 after rewards redemption on giftcard purchase, the system refuses to take rewards. You just need to buy one small thing to get around or use it to buy a $100 one.
@Neoika: I did try purchasing 3 packs of vege chips, $3.80 each, so total is $61.40. Still wouldn't let me check out.
I tried first with self service but once the lady came and saw the stack with my hand she said I should move to a cashier.
After the cashier scanned the 2nd batch of 9 cards she asked if I wanted to use the credit, so I said if I can yes please and it worked fine.
I would have been equally happy to use a $10 credit each time I shopped at Woolies for groceries for coming few months, but this way worked better.
Have no idea why it wouldn't work for others. Perhaps it does not work at self service cashier, or the human cashier tries to follow "the rules" :P

@cloudie9: Wonderful and good on you. In numerous occasions, I find that staff at Woolies and Coles do not have a clue on the gift card promo details including T&C. It happened last week on the Coles pre-paid mastercard and recent Boost prepaid mobile plan. Could be better to buy 6 x $100 and 1 x $50 in single transaction (pay $650) to get 13000 bonus points AND 1 x $100 in another transaction and redeem 12000 points to offset $60 during payment and pay $40 balance with 1000 bonus balance on your WW reward card.
Note that I used 10 cards and the TECHY coupon code when buying my S10 this morning so it looks like eBay aren't enforcing the 8 card maximum at the moment.
Woolworths Penrith has a couple dozen of each 50 and 100.
I would like to ask as for year any deals like this would never work but if you purchase cards and gain your points which turn into $ how did you use them to buy other cards. As i have never been able to use the credit with purchase of cards yes food etc but not cards.

I already had a pending $10 on my card, so when I purchased my first card, I used that to gain 410 off for a price of $90. The next card used the $10 rewards from the previous transaction so discount, and so on.

The bonus points didn't appear on my card (I tapped Google pay to link it to the transaction). Apparently, it's been happening to a number of people at my local Woolies store. They pulled out some notes they'd written up earlier, told me which number to call and said they'd help me sort out the error.
I called rewards support, which has ended up being really unpleasant and a waste of my time. They couldn't find the deal (at first). They finally found it (after keeping me on hold for 20 minutes) then tried to tell me I wasn't eligible for the points because the card I bought was apparently a different colour to the one in the advertising picture!
I cleared that up, but was then questioned at length about whether I was sure I'd added my rewards card to the transaction (because it wasn't showing against my account activity i.e. the reason I'd called support in the first place!).
It irks me when large companies try to squirm out of coughing up legitimate claims for no good reason. If I was given a genuine reason why I wasn't eligible (e.g. some small print I hadn't read), I'd happily wear it and move on. It seemed to me like their automatic reaction was to start grasping at straws to find a way not to credit the points. Perhaps they get a lot of people calling up with rubbish claims trying to screw some points out of them and it's just become their standard way of dealing with people.
I'd like to send them a photo of the in-store signage for this deal to help clear it up but won't be able to get in till much later tonight. I don't suppose anyone snapped a photo of it whilst making their purchase, did they? I'd really appreciate anyone who did getting in touch.
I'll keep everyone posted on how I go getting this sorted out. Please share if you've had a similar experience!

It's set up to be difficult. The discount should be applied when you scan the ebay git card >end<. What I actually meant was i'm not going to use a temporary card or google pay. I'll wait until I get a physical card in the mail, if the deal is still available
@PAOK11: There are temporary paper membership cards at the checkout, sign up on the spot and use the temporary card.
Same thing when they went promotion for the $100 eftpos card but they had the old card(with $5.95 fee instad of $6.95) even had the banner on top saying 2000 points. Spoke to CS they said black luck then i raise complaint to FT for misreading. At the end they give me the point as good will
is the rewards card and your credit card both on your phone? is it possible that the woolworths terminal took the payment before your reward card scanned? I always use my physical reward card to make sure it scans.
is your gift card blue and yellow? if so then it is an out of date gift card , it should say 2 years expiry.

Yes it is true they normally dont do it evern you ask for manager, if you can call them one more time and tell them that you are recording the call(install a phone recording app), then ask them again nicely, told them if they refuses then you will need to go to Fair trading.
I raise a complaint to Fair Trading then specially resolution team gave me all points as good will.

Bought 1 more using the points and the price came down to 17.50 after employee discount and gained $5 worth of points
Overall bought gc worth $350 actual spend $297.50

Was recommended not to go through self serve. Apparently if the card does not activate, it is voided and can not be sold again. Took all through the old service register and sent each through individually for the extra fuel vouchers. Receipts continued to show the rewards value adding up with the $10 per transaction.

Two cars. One filled once a week the other every second. Vouchers last what.. 4 weeks? Given I don't often go to woolies (Coles is closer) it worked out for me to get the extra fuel vouchers. Always fill up at Caltex as you earn Qantas FF rewards. Well, I've been using Caltex from before the FF days.

I've use gift cards on car parts in the past without any issues…That's really dodgy if they've changed it recently, there's no mention of car parts being excluded on the cards or in the T&C…
Worked recently on car parts. There was a promotion for eBay plus membership, and that's when they specifically excluded car parts with that particular gift card they were giving away at the time.
For people stlll purchasing suggest you go through the normal check outs rather than self serve wherever possible. I spent 20 mins trying to get a staff member to process the rewards discount which for some reason was picked up but not applied to the final price . Remember paying solely with eBay gift cards means you don't get PayPal buyer protection. I'm not sure however if you make a partial payment with PayPal you'll get protection on the full purchase amount.

Has anyone seen anything official stating that you can do 10x$100 transactions multiple times? I've seen people say they did 2x transactions each with 10x$100 cards with success.
I'm looking to purchase 100+ if I can find stock, so want to make sure I'm covered from a T&C perspective if things don't work out, but I can't find any information.
Wellcome to do that and resell it on classified for members like me who can only find 2x100 in WA. I might need to get it from the classified forum @ 5% off when I need to buy something on eBay.
I don't want to resell. I buy a lot on eBay so just looking to minimise my costs. My local store is holding 40 for me now but I'll see if more stock is on the way.

At least it will end up on classified at at least 5% off for less frequent shoppers.I wouldn't mind reselling any unused on the classifieds but problem is not being able to get it for cash first… hard as they wont want to part with cash first… but neither as a seller would you want to .
An update for those curious. I bought 65 cards today and the receipt showed all points being credited.
An interesting thing is the cashier appears to have a limit per transaction of 10 cards or $1000, whichever is hit first. I'm told a store manager can override this and the points will still credit, but my local one wasn't available.
Also if you do this be prepared for your bank to assume you're being scammed and block your card :-)

Jeez, none left at woolworths stores around my place.
Did a lap of Melbourne CBD and couldn't find a single Metro (Flinders, Sthn Cross or Swanston) that have any of these. QV do, but the $100 cards are hidden and you have to ask at the counter for them. I assume they are rationing them? $50s are on the rack but there's only a single rack and it looks like it's down to around 20 of them so I don't give them long. Gone out with a fizzle, this promo has.

Marginally better IMHO. I am not planning on any huge value purchases so I am not worried about using $50s. I think the reason so many are around is because the promo shows the $100 and people have taken it too literally.

Supposedly 8 codes per transaction. That’s why $100 cards are more popular than $50s.

You can. but who do you decides what USD is equivalent to in AUD? I've done it before, the rates weren't the greatest.

I choose to use credit card currency conversion which is better than Paypal conversion.
But you're paying in gift cards not your credit card.

You can use gift card to pay but PP converts exchange rate to for example $1 AUD = .5128 GBP ( real XE = .5382 GBP )

What about say a US$2000 item. After you max out 15 x AU$100 gift cards, can you still charge the remainder to credit card in USD?
Bought 9 x $100 ebay cards today thru self check out. Gift cards were activated successfully (paid with my credit card. First tried to pay with wish e-gift card but system would not let me) but the bonus points were not loaded instantly. I panicked but in the end the points showed up in my account after about 3 hours. So the points may not be added to your rewards card immediately.
Anyone knows where else to buy these gift cards in Perth? I have been to 3 surrounding stores so far, and none of them had stock. :(

ive some ask for me ID for random transactions,one manager, offered to order in 100 in for me
the system is programmed to be the same nationwide, what works in one will work the same nationwide, despite what the staff says

I purchased 20 x $100 and 20 x $50 they all work fine. Test it yourself prior to paying because the self check out system will prompt and notify you of the rewards points.
I've done both 5 x 100 and 10 x 100 in one transaction, all points credited immediately. Same girl saw me two days in a row -felt a bit awkward haha.

It seems like the maximum is 15 x $100 gift cards or 30 x $50 gift cards, eBay's limit seems to be value based not number of cards based.
There were at least 20 x $100 and loads of $50 at Woolworths Wyndham Vale VIC (Greens Road) late last night.

@SnoozeAndLose: Yep have several times, small latch on top right or left corner, opens up like a door, if someone comes over to stop you, you just explain that if they were actually checking when you asked them, instead of having them say, “if you can’t see any on the shelf, we are sold out”.
You wouldn’t need to open the cabinet.

Ashfield NSW have a fair few left, I saw at least 40 x $50 and 10 x $100. Likely to be many more still boxed.
Ask for a manager if your having trouble finding them and insist they look. I’m sure my local store manager won’t forget me.

Based on my experience and other reports the limit seems to be $1500 per transaction.
I just did 18 giftcards ($50s without any problem) doesn't directly answer your question,but it's more than what ebay states.

Yup, I went around 4pm and checked Woolworths metro at Collins square first, they had none left. Walked to Woolworths docklands and saw quite a few 50s on one side and thought that was all they had left, but they had a ton of 100s of the other side of the cabinet. No, it still works at nearly 8pm. Unlike other giftcards, the eBay stock from Coles do not scan at Woolies(Item not found!), which is very disappointing. No wonder Coles have stock till now and nobody touched them. Just had a close look, they are slightly different. Maybe that's the stock that HDer got.
@Neoika: Could you please explain further? I'm not quite sure what it means by "the eBay stock from Coles do not scan at Woolies". What I visited was a Woolies and I took the cards from the gift card shelf.
@HDer: It can be a glitch that Woolies system did not update to recognise these batches.

I can confirm that ebay allowed 24 x $50 cards to be used in a single purchase on top of a $200 discount via Phoenix code. My heart did stop when the Ebay system stalled for about a minute after I entered the 20th but it then allowed me to use another 4 cards, and a small credit card charge for the remainder.
Other ozbargainers had cleared out all of the $100 cards earlier in day.
There was a few locations where over zealous managers guarded 10 per person not understanding 10 per transaction that lasted entire promotion LOL . They really though they were diamonds :)
