PSYCHED

Looks like The School Locker is clearing out some old stock, and stacks with the 10% ebay code.

The iPad pro 10.5 64gb seems like a great buy - another $60 or so off from this deal. The 256gb also looks to be a great deal ($999 at JB)

The 2017 iPad is probably the cheapest 128gb iPad I have seen at $362 after shipping. Apple is currently selling refurbed models for $429 - there is stock for grey and silver. all gone

Also available at their website (but no 10% off ebay code) - They are an authorised reseller so should be kosher

Look through their store for other apple products - possibly other bargains to be had.

Fantastic price for the 256GB. I bought mine 2 weeks ago at HN for $800 and thought that was a good deal.

Are these compatible with the Apple Pencil 1st Gen?

    • +3
    • +2

Yes, no worky with the second gen pencil though

    • Yes. Writing this using a first gen pencil right now on a 256 GB model.

The only minor concern I have for this iPad Pro is that it can get a bright spot about 5cm above the touch id button. Mine did, and I have seen on forums others have too. Apple quickly replace it though if that should ever happen. Truly great iPad. I use it for abut 5 hours a day.

      • a bright spot about 5cm above the touch id button.

Interesting. Is the spot a burn in or does is only show when one press the button?

        • Nah, it more like a backlighting issue. Maybe a bit of flaking.

        • Bright spots are internal pressure points

Note: No Apple Pencil support on the 2017 (5th-gen) iPads. Great price for 128gb though.

Damn, when I thought I bought at a good price … the 256GB for the price I paid for the 64GB …

  • What's the scene of warranty? Not mentioned anywhere on their ebay page.

  • Thanks OP. Just purchased the iPad 128GB…great price.

I bought it in last deal and regret now

They have no change of mind policy. However, I did return the iPad Pro 10.5 64gb 4 days later, I just said the HQ in NSW says its ok to return. They were reluctant but upon going back and forth, they proceed with refund, but said that this is one off. This is for still brand new and unwrapped condition. Try your luck.

  • Thanks OP

Decent price but the software is very limiting which would still make me give it a miss.

Not iOS bashing, but it's simply not built to take advantage of the hardware, screen size, multitasking, multi window and this essentially being a mini computer.

Hard to deny. If it had mouse support for a start…

Not sure why you're getting negged - I have an iPad and I've got to completely agree with everything you've said. With iOS at the moment, it's really a big iPhone when it has the capacity to be a fully fledged computer. Apple needs to design the iPad OS from ground up with macOS as the base, not iOS. That was fine when the iPad was literally a big iPhone, but it's competing with laptops now .

    • I agree it does not work as a PC replacement but it is more than a big phone. I use it for mail, games, reading news, watching movies, You tube, doing my cryptic crosswords, etc. I rarely pick up my home PC unless I want to do some serious typing. However, I do agree they could do more with it but they do have a PC tprange so where is the incentive?

      • You can do all of those things with an iPhone.

        • Actually no you can’t. Some of the apps only work on the iPad and best of luck trying to do the cryptic crossword on the phone. I have both a phone and an iPad and more and more the phone is a hotspot for the iPad or just a phone/messinging device.

          • @try2bhelpful: So there's a few exclusive apps. Big deal. And it is an arbitrary decision to exclude the app. A decision that can be reversed at any time.

It's still the same OS and hardware. There is nothing fundamental featured in one and not the other.

I don't do cryptic crosswords, Nor do I use apps that are exclusive to one of them. So for me, it's a large iPhone that can't take calls.

They both still have the same limitations.

@lostn: Then you are speaking from your experience and I am speaking from mine. I’ve had iPhones since the iPhone 4 and iPads since the generation 3. Not sure what your experience is but there is a big difference between them for my usage. It is the same IOS but it is not all the same hardware, the size of the iPad makes it more suitable for some applications than the phone. It is like saying if you wanted to you could soup up the phone to be a stand-alone PC replacement; nobody would seriously consider that. As I have indicated they could do more if they wanted to make it more like a PC, but I don’t need a mouse to do what I want with it. I currently have an iPhone 6 and am only looking to upgrade for the Camera, my IPad is the thing I use the most, by far. YMMV.

      • However, I do agree they could do more with it but they do have a PC tprange so where is the incentive?

The incentive is that their competition is moving along swiftly. The Surface range is getting better with every iteration. The hardware is nice, and the fact that you can run real software on it is amazing. Ultimately, there is a market for this sort of device.

From a personal level, though, there are a lot of reasons why I like the iPad - the Pencil is great for taking notes, the hardware is really nice and the display is top notch, but for the asking price of the 12.9" iPad Pro + Keyboard, which is the same as the latest Macbook Air, there really is no competition to which device is the more functional. If you're happy to go Windows, you could get a more functional Surface Pro for less than the iPad.

Sure, I could just get the Macbook, but I like to be able to use the iPad as a tablet - so right now, I need to have both a laptop and a tablet.

  • Ipad 5th Gens outta stock.

Said 6 Available then a min later both were out.

    • Updated. Cheers.

    • That’s the one I was after :(

  • Is this the sim version? Great deal

    • No, Wifi only.

  • The 128gb is a great deal, I bought mine 32gb last year from hn for $300 after Amex offer I thought it was great deal but 32gb isn't enough really, would jump on this 128gb if I didn't have mine.

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed an iPad Pro

  • Same, just ordered a 256GB iPad Pro. Can anyone confirm if the Logitech Crayon works on the 2017 iPad Pro models like this one - I am seeing info that it does work on the 2018 iPad pro, but nothing either way on the 2017 models? Has anyone tested it themselves?

  • FYI, tried to get a 5th gen ipad through their website - no delivery available

    • I just ordered one (space grey) off their website, was $7.95 for delivery. Have another look, maybe you'll have better luck now?

  • Thanks OP. Bought a iPad Pro 256GB last night

  • but will it bend?

  • Thanks OP. My partner just got the iPad Pro 256GB. The space grey one in the link was out of stock, but we found they still had stock of the silver. I have exactly this model, but with cellular, that I bought 2 years ago, and I love it. Mind you, I paid nearly twice the price at the time.

    • I had the same issue, and they offered to provide any of the other colours. I also chose Silver, hoping it all comes through…

  • Do these guys provide a tax invoice, showing GST and ABN? Looking at claiming TRS as well. Thanks

  • Picked up the Pro.
Anyone got any good case recommendations?

  • This seller is currently away until 18 May, 2019, and isn't processing orders at this time. You can add this item to your watch list to purchase later.

    Gerry is taking a holiday!

    • Ah wtf, does that mean I have to wait a week for them to ship it?

      • you cant place order now….

      • +4

It means the person in charge of the eBay sales is having a breakdown with the sudden flood of orders.

        • My order was placed on 10th May.
It soon turned to "order being prepared", then the "Seller is away" alert.
Now waiting for his return on 17th and the delivery to Woolies on est. 20th.

  • Are they out of stock for the 256GB iPad Pro? I can't find it…

    • Only gold is available

      • Where has the link gone

        • The seller is away and the eBay store is "locked", so you can't find out what is available & what sold out.

  • Any good deals on the iPad Pro 12.9?

  • +1

    Any deals for ipad mini?

  • 98.6% Positive feedback

  • Another three days for the person in charge of the eBay sales to come back? :lol

  • Back in stock

  • Looks like they stuffed up inventory and are refunding orders.

  • Yep I got the same message via ebay saying that "we found out a few stores had incorrect inventory levels" and now I won't receive even the second choice of colour I was asked to choose after they said the space grey 256GB 10.5" pro was out of stock…

    Refund time.
