I bought them for 18.5% off in the recent eBay UK sale ¯_(ツ)_/¯
For those who have OCD with precision, it is 5% off the original amount after 10%, then another 5% off that discounted amount, therefore 18.775%.
How did you guys get targeted for the 5% code?

Can't buy giftcards with giftcards. Just get your jb giftcards through suncorp — Sign up online to a bank account and you get access to their discount gift card system.
Bought a macbook air for $1452 which is a good deal considering it's listed or $1699 on the apple website. Plus used $1000 worth of JB gift cards bought for $950 (would loved to have gotten them during the ebay uk deal). Will also claim GST through TRS. Ends up costing about $1260.
I hope you have someone else with you because it's greater than the $900 limit if you plan on bringing it back.

I thought they don't check if you have it when you're back if they catch you still have the item don't you have to pay that GST again?

You need to declare it, you're basically committing tax fraud if you don't.

Trust me, the moment you're claiming huge TRS on items that you're likely to bring back, you'll likely be flagged and checked when you're coming back.

I said "likely", not definitely, anyway - fraud detection systems are far different between now and a few years ago. Either way, The risk of getting caught exists. It's up to you if you want to evade the tax.

19% off two macs!! Although technically, it’s 5% off the 10% reduced price, which in turn is reduced a further 4% with the gift cards. So 18%. But still!
JB cashier wasn’t too impressed with the eight gift cards needed to pay for them though.
