            • @Deal finder: Well, you are not the lucky ones.

I hope you are not trying to exchange the phone after you claimed the gift, it will messed up the people who got it after you.

  • Has anyone received their Galaxy Buds yet.
Mine is still stuck on Submitted.

    • Mine from a week ago still on submitted, there is a phone number on email to follow up in case you want to chase up.

      • "25 Oct 2019 Request Submitted - 04 Nov 2019 Validation Completed"

    • Best to call them. Mine was stuck and called them today got validated in 2 mins.

      • Yup just called them and got it validated.

        • Ah Thanks, I will try calling them.

EDIT - Called the number and was given a timeframe of 30 days.

  • Anyone know if you can get a Vodafone number with just a $2 Sim card? Or do you have to recharge

    • +1

You need to recharge to activate the sim, so better buy sim card with credits in it.

    • +1

      Voda - NO
Optus - Yes, via live chat

      • Voda prepaid ports out after SMS confirmation very fast from my experience as well

  • +1

Anyone tried taking the phone back for a change-of-mind refund?

  • I just ported a number out this morning and tried to get the deal. Went to in and he had to call someone to enter my details (maybe cause I wanted to use existing Telstra account?)… guy on phone saw the the number was previously in the system…so couldn't get it. Might have to try another jb.

  • Good news story! s10e purchased today. First online chat switched to $80 M2M (rep said he would waive the ETC for this or above only). Confirmed I could port out/cancel after the switch for no ETC when ever I like. Chat saved in case of emergency. Wait for the bill now.

    • -3

      On web or app?
      Whats the guy's name?
      And how did you ask?
      Thanks

      • the guys name is james bond.

      • On web. Just asked outright if I could swap to M2M. Clarified the details about ETC.

  • Just called up about the buds, it was validated this morning and sent this arvo!

Should arrive with in the next 14 business days I was told.

Looking likey I'll end up with a S10e and Buds for under $200 all up, I think this is the biggest deal I have ever got from OzBargain <3

  • Plan switched through the app successfully first try to a $50 MTM, said they would waive the fee.

What a deal in the end, just need to cancel the plan tomorrow and wait for the final bill.

    • Hey bro, I've sent you a PM. Do you mind replying

    • To be clear I used the chat in the app.

    • when u say cancel the plan, do you mean that you will port out your number to some other provider and your telstra plan will be cancelled automatically?

      • +1

That is the intention, otherwise I will chat them and ask to move to prepaid

        • Did you cancel or change it?

          • @Deal finder: Changed to prepaid

Got my Bill for the Jb plan $2.17 no ETC

Just waiting on final bill for the month to month plan

  • Does anybody else's Telstra account show that this is a JB deal? Wondering if that will make it tricky.

    • +1

Anyone one who ported in to this deal will show that this is a JB plan.

      • +1

Yes, that's what it shows as a JB plan.

      • Thanks

Merged from JB Hi-Fi 12 Months Contract Phones E.g S10e; Are Phones Unlocked?

    Hi,

i'm wanted to confirm its unlocked, i assume it is but confirmation would be good.

    cheers

    mac

    • +1

      Yes

    • Yes sold unlocked.

    • I don't think any non-prepaid phones in Australia have been locked for the past … 15 years?

      • Im pretty sure they use to be locked like a year or 2 ago but now they are all friendly and unlocked

  • Thanks all……

  • Has this actually been extended to tomorrow?? Has the pixel deal actually expired?

    • Not every store extended. Better call first before you go.

  • Anyone in the past few days been able to convert to month to month without ECT fee?

    • Tried a dozen times so far and no success.

      • they keep mentioning etc fees.

        • -1

Maybe you should call their bluff and just say yup go ahead charge the ETC as they move you m2m.

I think their systems are setup in such a way that if you stay with telstra on m2m there is no etc fee.

I note, it appears as if etc is not a waiver that they physcially do as "etc waiver" has yet to be documented in a bill or on a screen grab anywhere (i could be wrong).

Instead when moving to m2m it simply states no upfront costs and shows the ongoing charge on m2m with no mention of etc fee.

I also got my latest bill and no etc fee was charged, only ongoing m2m.

The question is will there be a telstra wide push to recover etc fees in future?

          • @bargrin: when did you do this though?

            • +1

@Inflow: I did all mine before it blew up with telstra getting a set script with generic response when asked to change plan.

But really for the price of phone and buds the ETC fee not that bad.

              • @bargrin: When I attempted to change to m2m, they all mentioned that they can't do it as it's a JB Hifi deal and will incur an etc fee.

    • Nope, tried many times.

  • +1

Changed to a m2m plan yesterday morning with 4th rep.(This is for a second phone) The first three said can't be done without ETC. One of the reps even said that they are happy to change the plan or cancel my service without ETC as long as I return all the credits/discounts I got from JB hi fi. So they definitely know what's happening.

The updated plan is now showing in my account and I've got a bill of $65 for the first month. Have confirmed with online chat that from next month bill will be $50.

      Username checks out!

  • Has anyone cancelled or ported out afetr signing up to this deal in last two weeks?

  • -1

Was anyone able to get the 5,000 bonus telstra plus points for switching to the m2m plan?

    • I didn't receive any bonus

    • haven't received my bonus either but not sure if its one of those things where it takes time to appear or you need to be on the plan for X months

  • Has anyone got their galaxy buds shipped yet? Mine are verified but still waiting for a shipping notification, been a week already

    • Been told to wait for up to 30 days to get an e-mail of the buds being shipped.

    • Same. On t&c it says it can take upto 30days after validation. So let's wait.

  • Has anyone still not received their bill yet? I signed up on 2/11 still waiting for my bills.

    • +1

I haven't got anything. I've ported out, too.

    • Do you have a My Telstra account? There you can see when your bill is due.
I just received mine (in sync with my existing primary mobile service, so they were billed together).
I switched from the JB plan to Telstra $50 MtM plan via My Telstra a few days after signing up.
My bill has no ETC, just ~$12 for the few days I was on JB plan, then ~$16 for the remaining days I was on $50 plan until end of billing period, then $50 for next billing period in advance.

Will cancel the MtM plan shortly - just using some data for a few days.

      All-in-All:
$10 optus prepaid sim for port-in purposes + $99 handset up front, + ~$35 in plan charges (assuming I will be credited the unused days when I cancel).
I also claimed TRS as I was travelling OS, so that returned me ~$90.

Galaxy S10e + Galaxy buds (approved not yet shipped) for about 60 bucks.

It was a very good deal based on $390 ETC.
In the end it was an OzBargain of a deal.

      • Yes, I have a Telstra account, but still shows nothing in bill section.
        https://imgur.com/a/yAfxyMB

        • You only have prepaid accounts listed. Your JB one (or MtM if you swapped) should show "days remaining" to tell you when your billing cycle ends
          "

          • @vbap: I had them changed from JB to m2m to prepaid via online chat. That's why it doesn't show "days remaining" anymore. Just wondering when my bill will come. 🤔

            • @Micky14: Ah, perhaps you found a loophole to prevent getting a bill at all.. :)

              • @vbap: Ha if so that will be nice.

      • vbap, did you switch to a m2m plan yourself thorugh your account? I mean not thorugh the online chat?

        • Yes, switched myself through MyAccount on desktop browser. I tried online couple of times until 3rd one suggested changing online. I couldn't be bothered with anymore chats so just did it…

If I got this deal and now ported out from Telstra, am ineligible for another deal with Telstra or does Telstra exclude customers who have recently signed up a deal and then ported out withing days? I assume Telstra's systems would have all the record?

    • +2

why don't you try and let us know

  • Received my bill for $11.13 for period 28/11 to 11/11, so no ETC charges here.

  • Did anyone recieve the galaxy buds yet?

Do you need to open the box for IMEI or can u just take a photo of the IMEI printed on the barcode sticker on the outer box?

    • No need to open

    • Haven't received them but I got an email on Friday morning telling me my claim was submitted successfully and I'll get a text or email when they've been shipped.

  • Anyone know who to contact for following up on the buds? Been over a month now

  • It's been a month and never got a bill. I sold one on Facebook with buds for 750. (Haven't got the buds so 600 for the phone and 150 when the buds come) And returned another one to JB on 26th (after the buds promotion), got my money 198 back and 801 in gift card. Woo hoo 🕺

    • They gave you the gift card back, wow!

      Which store was that?

      • I returned at different store the supa centre moore park.

    • Same no bill yet.

    • got my money 198 back and 801 in gift card

      hahaha!! surely OzB king!
      Wow!

      • Why 198? Everyone paid $99 for s10e

        • I signed up for 2 s10e. The receipt shows 198 with 2 900 gift cards.

          • @Micky14: That is amazing… Would be better if you get 2x TRS too or 2x$95 back haha

            • @CyberMurning: Ha yes. I have also let them put my name on the receipt just in case I will go overseas. But not in 90 days though.

  • +2
