Honestly? I'm ploughing along fine with a custom Dyson DC58 (the one we were all buying years ago for $150-200). When I want a deep clean I use my 2nd hand Cinetic Animal Pro I bought for $200 from a pawn shop.

Good prices for a good brand, I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger (hehe) on a deal like this compared to the V11+ or whatever it is now. There is only so much dirt you can rip out of a carpet.

    • What's custom about it?

      • +7

        dc58 + bamboo extension

      • +3

Aftermarket extended wand and a few various attachments. I realise it's nothing special but the fact I upgraded it to something that even Dyson says it shouldn't be… The price difference between the DC58 and the DC59 was $200 at one point! Not bad if you can fix that with a $30 wand.

        • I still have a Dyson DC19, even older than yours. Though it's sucking a lot less than it used to, and that sucks.

This Xiaomi Dreame is absolutely my next vac, Dysons are overpriced.

  • +11

I have been very happy with my dreame v9. Well worth the 300 I paid for it, at this price it's a steal.

    • Agree, xiaomi is really doing a great job by making these competitive consumer products, they also have way more brilliant products in China while last time I visited but all in Chinese packaging :(

      • how do you know if the products are brilliant if they were in chinese?

  • +3

Great vacuum, just replace my Dyson v6. Very happy.

    • +2

The V6 was/is a good vacuum, didn't break did it?

      • Battery is poor, died in less than 2 years. People said the Kmart one is great for $99.

      • Yeah v6 was a good Vacuum too but Dreame has better suction and soft roller is great to pick up dirt / sticky bits on the tiles.

        • Kind of figured but wouldn't go replacing a V6 for no good reason. (Sorry, I'm in the tight stage)

  • +1

OP, do you have the Pro version?

    • What's the pro version differences?

      • Metal body :3

        • That it?

          • @Click_It: Yeah I heard it's not much different apart from the appearance. But you know, personal references. I like metallic over plastic hardware

            • @Scythic: Fair enough, is there much price difference ?

              • @Click_It: They are like 330~380 AUD but I can't find any Aussie seller (for the sake of warranty)

You've really gotta stop including this video in your posts.

    Suction Comparison to Dyson V8

It's an absolute crock of shit comparison. Read the video comments.

  • I need to clean my car can i use this?

    • Yes, you can use other 2in1 attachment when you clean the car.

  • Could I able to use it to vacuum under the bed (stick on horizontal position with out the roller head being raised) with No hassle?

    • +1

With the hardfloor tools that's a no, and the carpet head looks like the hardfloor one so I'm guessing it's a no to that too (I don't have carpet head so maybe someone else can correct if I'm wrong)

You can't turn the barrel 90 degrees.

      • Thank you for your reply, strange no one mentioned this on reviews, probably no one is bothering on vacuuming under the beds, under the sofas etc.
I have a Dyson corded vacuum which I able to do so. I am not sure Dyson V10 is compatible to vacuum those specific areas.

    • +3

I just double checked with mine (sitting here right beside me). It can down all the way down until the barrel hits the floor, without the roller head raising. So the sick is not 100% horizontal, but its close. If vertical is 90 degrees, and horizontal is zero degrees, I'd say this gets to around 5-10 degrees. It can go low enough to get pretty much every spot under my bed.

      • +1

Thank you! Now I could able to make mind to buy one without physically seeing it.

  • +7

Good job Xiaomi. You’re not just blatantly copying Apple’s design language, you’re copying Dyson’s now too.

    • +3

It’s actually reverse engineering and takes time.

  • +3

Anybody can comment on this (from one of the eBay reviews):

A non removable barrel is a major design flaw which in turn effects the durability of the brushless motor. (everytime you change/clean the main filter you will be exposing the motor inlet with dust, not to sure if there is a filter from the main filter to the motor itself but if there is its not cleanable/removable) If you accidently press the trigger (which you will) when empting the barrel (with the barrel filters removed, which you will have to do to fully empty the barrel) dust from the barrel itself will direclty go to the main filter. So the design for the maintenance of vacuum itself iis not that great. It seems they caught on to this as the newer model on Xiaomi's website has a removable barrel, which will make it easier.

    • +6

I do find the single assembly a shitty design. You cant really empty it properly which diets stuck around the sides so I get another vacuum to vacuum the vacuum.

      • so I get another vacuum to vacuum the vacuum.

        I love the recursiveness.

      • But how do you vacuum that vacuum?

  • The combo set is only $8 cheaper than the last deal on gearbite eBay. If you use the discounted eBay gift card, the last deal is still better.

  • I Bought a Xiaomi Robot (For alternative days vacuuming) as we all Xiaomi Stick handheld vacuum (for regular) from these guys and honestly. Wife and Mom are extremely happy and house is always cleaner :)

  • The codes does not work. Has it expired? When I apply the code PBLITZ, I get code “cannot be applied to your order error”. Appreciate if you can help fix it, will greatly appreciate!

  • +2

Do I need the carpet roller head to clean on carpet or will the standard one work but just not as powerful?

    • I'll answer my own question - from the reviews I've read. Answer is no, doesn't do a good job without the carpet head on carpet.

      • +1

I see you've answered your own question but if you still wanted to know, you are correct :D I've been using this vacuum for almost 7 months, the standard head is only good for hardwood and tiled floors, it doesn't do a good job on the carpet. I've also heard that some people burnt their motor on the unit by using standard head on the carpet, because it put a lot of pressure on the motor. You do need the carpet head (which I currently do not own, so not sure if it does a good job or not). I'm not too sure about buying the carpet head for ~$70 without seeing one in action. I paid $330 for the vacuum, so this seems like a good price.

        • thanks for your input, very helpful. How do you find the vacuum on tiled or hardwood floors (whichever you have).

          • @djevoultion: Its really good on tiles and hardwood floors(I've both). I mostly use it on medium suction level. The lowest isn't that great but the medium suction is good, battery runs for about 35 mins. It takes a while to charge it, so that's the only thing that can be improved on. May be they can add bigger battery or fast charging in the next model. Its good vacuum otherwise.

  • We offer 12 month warranty on these products.

If you are a registered business in Australia and provide a tax invoice with GST, it's 24 months according to Australian consumer law.

    • +2

24 months according to Australian consumer law.

Consumer Law does not set that kind of warranty.

Warranty claim takes in consideration the expected life of product and the price paid. If one could argue that this product is reasonably expected to last 4 years given the price, then that is what consumer is entitled.

  • Does this have a Aussie power adaptor in the box? I assume so

Before i buy today. Is it really work well in the car? Is it perfect 5 star if use this one in car?

    • +1

      Nothing is perfect

    • +2

I have this one and I've tried to use this in the car. While the vacuum itself is good but when you are cleaning the car in those hard to reach floor spaces, you need a flexible tube. The attachment given with this vacuum are great but when you attach them straight to the unit and then try to clean the corners etc in the car, it becomes a little difficult to use. However, this is just my personal experience, YMMV, I still have to use my corded vacuum with flexible pipe/tube, and I only use this vacuum mostly for spot clean, on tiles, hardwood floor, skirting boards etc (its convenient and great for all that). I also have the Mi robot, which is a good unit too(although started making funny noise lately), hope this helps.

  • Is there an option for next day delivery as we are going overseas coming Tuesday so want to buy and stock it before we leave on this price? Thanks

    • +1

Just wait till you come back ..these deals are not going anywhere and there will be more due to Xmas period..

  • Thanks OP. Ordered earlier today.

  • +1

I really really want this but my current Electrolux I bought from a deal 5 years ago is still going strong :(
Most reviews said theirs died after a year or so, mine's apparently the cream of the crop…crap

    • +1

      You mean crap crop right?

  • @OP: Why the price in the title and the price in your post is different? I.e $269.99 vs $273.96 ?

    • +1

Thanks for that,Price reduce to $269.99. I have updated.

  • Would this product be suitable for getting dog hair out of a rug?

    • +1

Doesn't come with carpet adaptor which you need to buy separate..

  • Bought mine a few months ago and we're pretty convinced it's not sucking as well as it originally did. Anyone got any ideas?

    • +2

      Did you clean the filter?

    • Please do regular maintenance. Please check manual here1 here2, please wash filter and Cyclone element. It should solve your problem.

  • +1

I bought one last deal to replace my Dyson. Is it just me being fussy or does anyone else find the vacuum head really wobbly? Like it turns to easily?

  • Thanks for the deal OP, always wanted to get a cordless vacuum but never wanted to pay the Dyson premium.

  • Does the price of $269.99 include carpet head?

  • +1

Bought. Cheers OP. Assume the normal head ideal for hard wood (floors) ;)

  • I don’t use eBay much. Can you buy a discounted 5% off eBay gift card as posted in ozbargain and then buy this using that gift card?

    • Ofcourse you can.
