No. Was walking the dog last night and came across a house with the driveway full of brochures.
Had an A4 page that said in large writing, do NOT distribute until Tuesday. So ofcourse I had to take 1 of each to save them the hassle of delivering a few brochures.

Does this have a minimum month on the contract? Can I cancel say within the first day and only pay for the month?

    • +1

Usually 12 months so if you cancel 1 month in you'll be up for ETF.

      • I thought ETF is only applicable to plans where it comes with phones?

  • +1

Anything mentioned about the Sony WH1000XM3's?

  • Logitech g560s is what I'm wanting on the cheap hopefully someone will have it.

  • Is that for the Hisense 75r8?

  • +4

Hmmmm Hisense certainly have made their TV range confusing - not easy to discern what are the key differences between models.

Just wondering which model within their line do folks feel is 'best value' i.e RG, P7, R7 (as these seem to come in all manner of sizes)? Want nothing bigger than a 65" (though would slum it with a 55") - updating from a ~7yr old Panasonic plasma (which still has great picture.

Not interested in native 4k material, will be FTA TV and a media library of video files (yes Linux distros ;-)

Between the P7, RG and R7 - not sure if there's much tangible difference? Any rationale to stretch to superior models? Thanks in advance.

    • +3

My understanding is that the Ps are 2018 model, Rs are the 2019. Both run VIDAA UI while the G runs Android. The G also only has an 8 bit panel and from what I've read looks slightly worse than the Ps and Rs

      • Hi,
Yes, you're correct on all that and that was the easy stuff to know. :-) But if there's much difference between them is very hard to know….isn't really something you can 'compare' instore either as they're all setup differently and is comparing apples with oranges.

Dunno if there's much difference between VIDAA and Android - suppose it really comes down to the long term support/updates each will get - if any. The 10 bit panel vs 8 bit is a clear advantage - oddly IIRC thats on the cheapest p7.

IMHO there's often little difference between mid level models and it's just 'marketing' features which are often of little or no benefit that support one over another - though there'll be a big price difference.

Might have to check a few reviews on them or over at Whirlpool etc - could go another year with the plasma + Mibox combo so no biggie either way. :-)

  • Damn I want a Hisense 65R7 but have $800 in Myer gift cards.

What is the best way to sell/swap them for JB gift cards or cash?

    • Sell it to me for 400 then I'll buy a bet from them lol

    • Btw, why not the R8?

      • The R8 is a little out of my budget for a new TV which is 1k or a little over, so I’m hoping the R7 drops to that in the next week or two.

        • Aahh ok. I thought it might be coz the R8 doesn't really have anything better.

  • +2

I believe this is a record price for PS4 excluding limited frenzy/plus events.

  • +2

They have already jacked up the price of the 65R8 to $1995.
Will be $1496 with 25% off, which it was available for a couple of weeks ago..

  • MacBook 2017 for 1249. Is that for Air or Pro - any idea?

  • Pardon my ignorance, but is the Galaxy Watch the latest model?

    • Nope. From last year. Looks like they're releasing one every 6 months. They've had the Galaxy Active and Active 2 since.

  • Is it possible to see the catalogue pictures. Did you get multiple store catalogues?

  • +5

Not a deal. JB Hi-Fi bumped up their TV prices (and presumably other items) in anticipation of black friday.

  • So the Hisense 65R7 is 1121.. Not really that wow for a black friday deal as it was cheaper like 2 weeks ago and still chealer on Ebay..

  • Is the Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order token (in the Xbox One X bundle) the deluxe edition or just the regular edition?

  • +2

Damn. The Xbox is the useless digital only one. Hopes DASHED.

Thanks anyway man, you did great with this.

  • Thoughts on the Samsung 65" QLED? Any better TV's at the same price point?

  • Question:

    1) Will their online or eBay store have same price as bricks and mortar store for their TVs for Black Friday sale?
    2) Do their bricks and mortar store price match their eBay or online store?
    3) what model is the Hisense 55” $633? As their catalogue does not have model numbers
    4) can you transport the tv lying flat on top of car or in boot or must it be upright still with these newer tv?

    Thanks

    • I was looking into this. After zooming in and checking the SKU number its the 55" R6. Hoping the R7 will be 25% off the ticketed price for Friday (~%821) 60 more than Videopro but will have instant gratification.

      • I was hoping it was the 55RG with Android TV function - Not sure what's the difference between r6/r7/rg. Anyway cheaper to buy on EBay…

        • From my research, Difference between R6 and RG:

          -RG is Android TV
-R6 has support for Dolby Vision HDR whereas RG supports HDR10; Heard Dolby Vision is better but it depends if the content you are watching is that format. Not sure if much difference will be noticed on general content/regular streaming.

          Difference between R6 and R7:
          - Smooth motion rate 100 hz vs 200 hz- Actual seems to be 50 hz and 100 hz.Apparently R7 is better for watching action based stuff.

          • @Penguin8213: Thanks for the info. I think I would be happy with the R6 if someone could confirm it actually works with stan as i know it has support for stan. I believe I read somewhere that stan freezes and is not watchable on R6. Can anyone confirm?

  • Damn, I held off getting an Asus zenbook today at 15% off because I was hoping they'd be part of the 20% off next week.
Seems as though the sales assistant was right and they won't be included.

  • +3

Doesn't feel like it's Black Friday sale as things had been cheaper before. Hisense 75R8 was 1996 last week from TGG eBay store and here R7 model is 2021 after 25% off. Disappointed with the sale prices.

  • Are these sale prices both for in store and online? I'm assuming they are. Also does JB HIFI have a free delivery threshold where you spend $xxx.xx amount and you get free delivery to your house? Or do delivery fees incur when ordering online even if you spend over a $1000?

And does anyone know how long they will hold your purchased items from online order, if you select click and collect?

  • Why don't they sell Galaxy Fit 2 in australia?

  • Is it only me or the Samsung TV deals are underwhelming?

  • In their current catalogue they have the 65"R8 tv for 1100.. original price is 1295. With Black Friday its 1121 and original price 1495 lol wtf

    • Are you sure your not looking at the 65R7? Currently at $1100

  • +1

Who can tell me about TCL.. I don't know the brand but seems to pop up everywhere and their 75" is very well priced and specs looks nice but don't know how they compare to Hisense and Samsung

    • Im in the same boat, I like the 65 inches but can push to a 75 inch. Just don't know whats the best deal out of the same price range.

In the 75inch the Hisense R6 vs TCL P8M is 1250~ and a good price point. If you look at the 65 they are less than 900, crazy!

Is there a big benefit going down to to the 65 but up to a model or brand in the Sony, Samsung's and Hisense R7 for the same 1250~

    • I purchased the 65 r7 on sight but they ended up having the tcl 75 p8mr. They didn't have it on the website or on the floor but it was the p8m price. For 300 more and the r model with Dolby vision I am happy now. Quality is excellent for the money. Didn't bother comparing it to anything pricier. We like the Google features and Android TV.

  • Alright I'm finally going to use this Black Friday to replace my 2008 42" Bravia in my games room. I want a tv around $1.5k, 65". It'll be used mostly for games & streams using my Nvidia Shield, including streamed PC games. Any suggestions? I'm leaning towards a Hisense R7 but I'm not too sure honestly. I like my Sony and there is a couple of 55-65" for around $1500 in this catalogue. There's also a Samsung QLED for around the same price.

I'm sure whatever I pick it'll end up being great, I should just go in store on Friday and pick one but does anyone have a recommendation?

It'll also NOT be wall mounted if that makes a difference.

    • In the same boat as you and so overwhelmed with the options

  • The MacBook Air 13-inch is currently $1,186 - $313 off at JB (Model: MQD32X/A - I am sure that matches the catalogue), https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/apple-macbook-air-13-inch… - you could wait until the Black Friday sale and pay more!

  • Anyone with experience on OPPO Reno 5g? Price seems reasonable for the specs.

  • I must be blind because I cannot see the Samsung 75" Ultra HD Smart LED TV $1595 Local Delivery on the JB web site

    Can someone please help?

    @spammenotinoz

Is this the TV in the top-right corner? Hard to tell. If so, I think that's gotta be a winner for the price.

    • But its 55" :)

      • 55" is fine for me I think, I'm replacing a 42" and my couch is only about 2m from the screen, 2.5m tops. I'm now tossing up between that Samsung for a QLED or the Sony X95G for LCD.

  • dam i was hoping for $795 or better on the sonos sub :(
maybe amazon will come to the rescue

  • +1

At least some of these prices have already gone live. I just purchased an iPhone XS at the sale price

  • Maybe JB bumped up the prices for some items, the Sony KD75X8500G is selling at $2495 on Sony's Website.
    https://store.sony.com.au/television-4K-X8500/KD75X8500G.htm…

    No deal

  • The 65r7 seems to be going for $955 on eBay so $25 cheaper.

Think I might try my luck and see how low JB will go

    • $897 now on eBay

      • Please can you share the link for the price at $897, I can't seem to find it? is it with jb hifi?

        • Seller is appliance Central. Use code pitch20

I got it at JB for 890 anyway

  • None of these items appeal to me, but here's an upvote for going above and beyond

    • Starts tomorrow, however reports of JB honouring these deals now in-store

  • +1

Is there any local place in Melbourne that will match the 65R8 price as per ebay.
