  • anyone here thinking to close the card once $500 credit hit your account?

    • +2

You have to spend the $500 before you close it.

      • Is this part of the T&C?

    • +1

You get free shipping with Kogan First while you keep your card, so why bother cancelling it?

  • Haven't received anything yet, hit the $500 on 21 Dec, so it should in by the next few days…. I hope.

    • It's all about when it was approved. Mine was approved 10th December - no email yet. So hopefully within the next week.

    https://www.kogan.com/au/shop/?q=toilet+paper

  • +1

I have some FREE kogan $50 off $379 promo codes that can stack with this credit (so you get $550 worth). FIRST COME FIRST SERVE

Pm me if you want one or reply here
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/522572

    Codes expire tomorrow

    • Thanks for the heads up EC, posted in your thread.

    • Thanks have requested. Planning to buy S50 Roborock vaccum.

  • Can one cancel the card n maintain the $500 credit?

    • +1

I would assume so… but would you then lose the free delivery?

  • Got my credit (approved 12 Dec). Note: They didn't send me a notification email to say the credit has been applied, had to check the website to see the credit.

    • Checked spam folder?

  • If anyone wants a $100 OFF code for LG V40 phone I have one , reduces it to $499 (from $599) and can throw in a $50 off $379 code that should stack to reduce it to $450.

    First in first serve

    • I would love a $50 code if you still have one.

  • Has anyone gotten a kogan branded pc monitor or Android tv (series 8 or 9)? Are they any good? I'm not sure what to get with my credit now haha

    • Get an Xbox or PS4 if you don't already have one. That's what I used my credit for

    • +1

      kogan branded pc monitor

Yep, absolute junk and multiple failed after a few months.

    • I have both. 120 hz monitor and 55 inch smart tv.

I've never owned expensive brands of these and I am very satisfied with both of them.

  • Damn, gf spent over the spend but a Service NSW transaction didn't count as it's a government transaction so get nothing. You win, Kogan.

    • Uh-oh. Did they confirm you wouldn't be receiving the credit? I spent on a gov service but it didn't show up as that on the statement and I did get my Kogan points. Fingers crossed anyway.

      • Didn't receive points and on live chat they said the requirements weren't met.

  • -1

Partner and I just got $500 each, Can the $500 be used together to get a $1000 item?

    • I suspect credit would be linked with your kogan account.

      • Yep linked to my account when I got it.

    • You would think you could try to figure that out on your own

  • Also noticing that many people who got $500 didn't up vote this post. Don't know what people need to do for some gratitude around here.

    • -1

Downvote must be from one of the people who didn't vote the deal up :)

  • Didn't receive an email but just checked my Kogan account and it's showing $500 credit. Happy days.

  • Approved mId Jan

Still haven't gotten the credit :(

Anyone else in the same boat?

    • +1

Yep, due April according to live chat

      • Thanks mate. Appreciate it

    • +1

I'm still waiting. Live chat aren't much help.

  • +1

    My 500 credit in account!

Click the person icon top right

    And click
    Credits

I have been checking the kogan credit rewards waiting but noticed it in this section in today..

  • Anyone know if you can use the credit in multiple transactions. $200 now and $300 later for example?

    • Yes

I spent almost same and left over ballance there

  • +1

For those interested, you can stack your $500 account credit and card rewards (credit card points) to use both in one transaction.

    • How much did your points end up being worth?

      • +1

$94. Tried to channel all expenses through it since December.

  • +3

Warning - Kogan lets you overdraw by default which may affect your credit rating

I applied for the lowest limit possible, and have been funneling all expenses through this card since I got it to get points and buy a phone from Kogan (always pay off my balance btw). I got a letter that I exceeded my limit by $30, and that they may share this information with credit reporting bodies.

I asked kogan why they did not simply decline the payment as I did not authorise overdraw, but they said "this is their default unless customers ask for payments to be declined instead".

So watch your balance or ask then to decline payments when you bit your limit.

I'm really not impressed that my credit file may be affected. She couldn't even tell me if it would, and told me to phone Equifax. Most incompetent bunch ever.

    • Pretty sure Kogan is just the name. Citi group runs to credit side of it

      • +1

True, but the conditions and processes around the Kogan card are new, poorly defined, and poorly understood by their own team. So you get a different experience. Even worse than normal Citibank.
