  • wow this or c 9 , so hard to decide

Depends on your budget. C9 is a much better TV.

        Is it $500 better tv?

        That is the question.

        • Depends on app support and HDMI 2.1 and a few other features.

Panasonic has no app support, won't get app support etc.

Oh and if you run one of those iPhone things, C9 has fully supported those too.

        • All been asked above. And price 'today' for a non-essential purchase isn't a fair comparison.

Picture quality is slightly better on the Panasonic. OS and features are better on the LG C9 by a big margin. If you're just using it for movies and TV shows get the Panasonic. If you want to game and have many uses get the LG.

      • Not sure why people keep hyping up the LG as having a superior OS. Like the Panasonic it also has an OS that’s exclusive to only one brand of TV and won’t get updated to a new version when later models come out.

Apps are less likely to support either platform because it’s a lot of work to make an app that only supports one manufacturer’s products.

If you actually do care about the smart TV functionality the only smart choice is Android TV. You’re getting a wide range of apps because developing for Android TV means developing for a wide range of devices from different manufacturers and Sony has demonstrated a commitment to putting out new Android TV feature releases on older models.

The smarter choice is to not worry about the smart TV OS at all and get an Apple TV. Something you could do multiple times over with the savings from buying this TV instead of the LG C9

        • Yeah but LG have more apps and much faster OS for people who are less tech savvy. Wouldn't go Apple TV, rather Nvidia as it's android. LG also have updates frequently to fix issues. Although I wouldn't recommend updating as companies have been fined for making the TV worse with some updates. Android is the best as it has all the apps available. Personally I would go with Panasonic as picture quality trumps everything else by far.

  • What wall mount bracket kit is best for these thin OLED TV's these days?

Are the selby brackets still the go to these days?

Anyone know what the input lag is?

    Edit: 21ms.

  • Congrats op on your first post, and what a ripper of a first time post! :D

Cheers Wyrsti, waiting for a price drop on the 65"C9 personally, very tempting though..

    • same here

  • So tempting! Is it worth upgrading from an LG B6?

they just jumped the price by $1,000 … $3,495 now!

    • Party is over

Ha, decision made for those on the fence then.

  • Thanks to the original poster! Just ordered myself one!😁😁😁 can’t wait to watch all of my 4K lHDR blurays again on this beauty.

  • Bummer, but also oh well.

Price back up to $3495. Was 100% a pricing error.
Hopefully JB honor those who bought it at $2495.

Wow I got lucky, less the 5 minutes after I purchased one the price went back to $3495. Just checked my cc and $2495 was paid to JB! If they try and void it due to a pricing error I have a good friend who runs the tv section at the JB she works at, I’m sure she will honour the price I paid.👍🏻👍🏻😁

Looks like price error from 2495 to 3495

  • +1

At least made me feel alot better for not being able to purchase it lol

    • +1

Haha, I had the same feeling, buy or not buy or not buy or not for the whole night and woke up this morning saw the price increased.

  • whew … managed to hold off on this deal, even though it was a great one. I'll still rock my 1080p Sony a little while longer I think.

Btw, the last time I paid (almost) $2,500 on a TV it was a 720p Samsung LCD with an analogue only tuner, massive street sized bezels, 1 token HDMI port which looked like it was a bit of a last minute bodge job to include in the chassis and no USB/media playback..

  • Just seen it advertised in store for 2495, although I assume it won’t go through when they try to process the sale?

    • Did you take a photo?

  • which store?

    • Indooroopilly QLD (the Westfield store)

  • any chance they will honour it?

    • +1

Yes. They phoned me about an hour ago to confirm delivery for tomorrow.

      • Picked mine up today … all good
Bit of a risky mission laying it face up in the back of my SUV and driving like Mr Bean 40 mins home from teh store … but all good .. got here and all set up (Y)

        Picture quality is bloody awesome

  • Honored mine.. Picked up today. Thanks OP!

  • So, is everyone upgrading their HD netflix plan to 4K?

  • Our 5yr old Samsung 55” died on Monday, so I’m stoked I got this deal so that I could justify the cash for an OLED 4k, thanks OP!

  • Does anyone know whether a standard TV wall mount (e.g. https://www.selby.com.au/brackets-and-wall-mounts/lcd-led-pl…) will fit this TV? I couldn't find any wall-mounting instructions/specs in the user manual.

    • Yes for the 65" the screw height is 400 so it should just fit

I had my plasma on this one and it was so lucky to fit straight in no height adjustment necessary (not that it can be because it's maxed out 400)

      https://www.msy.com.au/vision-mount-vm-lt19m-tvs-swivel-120-…

But I had to get screws from bunnings it's M6 35mm whilst I was rocking much shorter screws for plasma

My 65inch GZ1000 arrived yesterday, never thought I would score one for $2500!

  • Thank you OP, TV has been delivered - went in store to DJs who price matched and using discounted gift cards managed to get this for just under $2300!

    • Well done!
