Belong Mobile $40 Starter Pack Features

40GB Data.
Unlimited data banking.
Unlimited data gifting.
No lock-in contracts.
Telstra 4G & 3G.
12 month SIM expiry.
There are 2 great options for using this starter pack. Either way, before you activate make sure you get a promo code from a friend already with Belong or the OzBargain Belong pool for an additional $20 credit.

Option 1 - Start out on the $10/month plan. The first 6 months cost is already covered ($40 starter pack credit plus $20 referral credit). This is a good option for those with modest data requirements (average 1GB/month).

Option 2 - Start out on the $40/month plan. When the first billing day comes you'll already have 80GB data (minus what you already used). Then switch to the $10/month plan. The first 3 months cost is already covered, and you'll have nearly 80GB banked which never expires and can be used or gifted.

Lots of info in these commentsregarding best port days, etc. If you want double data the first month then DO NOT port on these dates 4th, 12th, 20th, 28th.

Porting hours of operation are: taken from Whirlpool wiki

Mon to Fri: 8am – 8pm (AEDST/AEST)
Saturdays: 10am – 6pm (AEDST/AEST)
National Public Holidays: Closed (Ports are not processed on these days)
If you request to port your number outside operating hours, your service will remain active with your existing provider until the next porting day. That being said, there are Belong mobile customers who've experienced successful porting outside these days/hours mentioned above.

  • Also at Woolworths. I got the $10 amaysim $30 tho that gives 35gb

Why? Catch Connect 40GB 30 days is $1.40 after cashback, delivered.
Also Amaysim is only 28 days. Both use Optus.

      • I usually get the Kogan $5 one but it takes so long to deliver so :p I'll check out catch tho, voda seems to be worse than optus

Thanks for all your helpful comments :-).

Not a good deal for me. I bought one last time from Woolworth with $15.

Be careful of the auto recharge. Very poor communication from this dodgy company. I wouldn't use belong even if it was free.

    • Belong Mobile don't say anywhere that they are prepaid. Also the "Payment Summary" in your account tells you exactly what's happening.

Yep Belong is not a prepaid service. It makes this very clear in the sign up process. Lack of ability for some to read the large print doesn't make this company dodgy. I've been with them for 2+ years and have a 4 accounts for a total of $40/month. Then just buy these throw aways for the occasional data top. $20 for 80GB for not much effort is a steal.

    • Ok I've learnt something. I always thought starter packs were a prepaid service to try the company/service before signing up to a plan.

  • I personally don't use Belong as all my accounts are prepaid now. However, I do appreciate all OP's efforts/links in detailing the best use of Belong sims and friends have good things to say about Belong. Just note that this is NOT a prepaid service.

    Same deal at officeworks.

  • To those wanting to get this at the moment who live around Blacktown NSW, the local store is sold out and apparently all the ones close by (presumably Merrylands, Winston Hills, Rouse Hill, Plumpton and Wetherill Park) are all also sold out. I just been and yeah that what the bloke at the electronics counter told me so had to go Coles and get the $25 pack for $10 offer someone else posted here.

  • Wondering about the maths on option 2?

    $40 + $20 referral = $60.

Do I stay on the $40 plan for 2 months to get the 80gb? Wouldn't that cost $80 already?

    • DO NOT activate on these dates of the months 4th, 12th, 20th, 28th and you'll end up with double data. Because these are billing dates.

Say you activate today on the $40 plan you'll get 40GB data but you won't get charged anything until the next billing cycle which is the 20th that's when you'll get charged $40 and you'll receive another 40GB of data too. Then on the 21st switch plans to the $10 one and that's how you'll end up with 3 months access and 82GB of data all up.

  • Thanks OP for your great information in your post.
