Been over a year since alexshel posted this great deal and a nice reminder for those unaware. I've copy/pasted the instructions from alexshel's OP, so thanks to him/her for all the initial efforts. Confirmed working by hm & alz. Stay safe, and enjoy :)

  1. Opt in for 30-day Prime trial.
  2. 3 days before trial ends, go to cancel and when a message to change a plan appears, click the button to switch to annual ($59).
  3. A day before trial ends, go to cancel and when a message to change a plan appears click the button to switch to annual ($59).
  4. Right after changing the plan go back to cancel the plan again - a message to extend the trial for another 30 days will appear.
  5. Click the button to extend the plan.

Update 03/05/19. How it may also work:

  1. Opt in for 30-day Prime trial.

  3. On the second page of cancellation process, notice an offer for a 30-day extension and accept it.

    I tried this today with 2 days left on my trial.

    Started the cancellation process; switched from monthly to annual subscription. Waited five minutes. Started cancellation process again; offer came up for a 30 day extension of free trial; accepted. Now have 32 days of free trial remaining.

      That's funny, I was the same as you, 2 days left. Did the exact same thing as you did (didn't wait 5 minutes though, I did it straight away) and came to make a comment about it only to find you beat me to it by a day.

    It acted funny but worked. I had 3 days left. Went to cancel it showed pay annual screen switch to $59. I did that. Then again same time I went to cancel again and pressed back and suddenly it showed 30 day trail extension screen. Did that and now it shows 33 days left in trail.

    Didn't work for me, 3 days before trial ends. No option to get free 30 days trial again. I Kept clicking cancel, and it was finally canceled.

    Worked fine for me. Cancelled > Changed to Annual Plan > Cancelled > 30 day offer appeared. Had 1 day left in original trial period. Thanks OP

    It didnt work for me first time, so I rejoined (in the 1 day before free trial ends), kept fiddling with the changing of the plans and cancelling until the button appeared for me :)

      Iā€™d never seen this post before and cancelled my 30day trial yesterday as it expired tomorrow. Are you saying I can rejoin and cancel again?

    3 days left on my trial.

    I clicked 'Manage Membership: Update, cancel and more'

    It took me to a new page with just a button for 'End membership' which I clicked

    It then displayed a second page with only 2 options: 'Continue to cancel' and 'Keep my membership'

    What did I do wrong?

      you should choose the 'change to annual plan' option, then cancel again and you will see it..i literally just did it with steps via this thread 1min ago

      Just click 'Continue to cancel' and on the next page it will offer another 30 days.

    Just finshed my 30 + 30 day free trial. The free shipping was handy during toilet paper crisis of 2020. Watched a few shows on prime video. However, will not be paying for the subscription.

    I have 7 days left of free trial, clicked cancel, changed to monthly subscription, immediately tried cancelling again & it asked for 30 day extension. I now have 37 days.

    7 days left on my 1 month trial here, I tried a few times, went back and forth between 1 month and 12 months and the extend button didn't come up, then I left it for a couple of hours and bam!, there it is :) .. all good.. (I couldn't wait till 3 days left because I'm heading out into the boonies with no reception)

    Thanks ozrules! Even though I cancelled my membership yesterday (free trial expires tomorrow) it let me rejoin, cancel, switch to yearly, cancel again then was offered the extension. Great stuff team!

      I can confirm this still works. Just did it 5 minutes ago.
      Trial was going to end in 3 days (I had amazon send me an email to remind me; besides my own reminder in my calendar). Step 2,3 and 4 all done in under 2 minutes.
      I did not seen an option to extend for 30-days with the second method (which I tried first).

      1. Opt in for 30-day Prime trial
      2. 3 days before trial ends, go to cancel and when a message to change a plan appears click the button to switch to annual ($59)
      3. Right after changing the plan go back to cancel the plan again - a message to extend the trial for another 30 days will appear
      4. Click the button to extend the plan

      Original end date extended by 30 days.

    Worked for me just now.
    -Signed up to Prime on the monthly plan when the Echo dot was available for $10.
    -Set a reminder to be sent 3 days before trial ends.
    -Got reminder, logged in and headed to 'manage my membership'
    -Changed it to $59 yearly plan and went back to main menu.
    -Immediately chose to cancel.
    -Chose 'End Membership' on next screen.
    -Then 'Continue to Cancel' on next screen.
    -A further 30day trial was offered on the next screen.
    -Accepted and done.

    Worked. 2 days before the end, Went to cancel page a few times, but kept membership. Changed to yearly plan and back to cancel page, extra 30 days offer was available.
