All meals come Vacuum Packed and frozen. You can store in the freezer for months or defrost and reheat. Everything is cooked to order so we need up to 3 days to pack and then ship. We do not keep any of these in "stock" so need some time to prepare.

    Are there ingredients stickers on the pack? If not, Would you mind letting me know if your risotto, beef stew, ribsy, wings of chicken meals contain egg? Thanks

    • Thanks for your order and encouragement. We are working on nutritional information details. Hopefully will have them as stickers. Otherwise will provide on the website on each item. Also, regarding your egg question, all the meals you mentioned are egg free but may contain traces.

  • Put together an order of about 16 meals going to the Sunshine Coast, freight now shows $35! Either this is an error or the title of the thread is misleading IMO. OP anything you can do about that?

    Bought $144 BBQ sampler pack. Received an email at 10pm a day before pickup that there was a glitch in the system and we need to resend the type of meats in the pack.

    We waited all day today for updates/order confirmation, when we called around 2pm the person on the phone had no clue. Got a call back after another half an hour of waiting, the order won't be ready for pick up until maybe tuesday…

    Totally understand they're under stain, but yeah… Definitely not a great experience so far.

        Thank you. We actually had quite a lot of orders (thanks OzBargain Community). Luckily all our 8 chefs have been working full time trying to get everything done. So we are almost there. @miumiusan apologies. Please let us know your order number and we will organise something extra for you.

    Pretty unreliable service, I didn't get groceries and was relying on the order. Now I gotta make additional plans for food and who knows when this will arrive.

      Hi we sent a message to you. The courier companies decided to increase their pricing up to 3 times due to "Corona Virus". No idea how that is affecting them but this is what they said. So we thought that it is best to refund as soon as possible. Better you have the money than us sitting on it.

      This seems to be happening to all the couriers to far flung places. It's as if the courier companies decided they just can't be bothered… Apologies. We are actually sending out lots of orders and losing money on them because of what the courier companies have done. There are some, unfortunately, where the cost of freight is double the total of the entire order.

  • Do you have any heating instructions for the $5.90 Eat-at-Home meals? E.g. What power to use (1000 high?) and how long to microwave for.

    • Whatever you normally do I expect. For me it's 1.40, no idea on wattage.

    • Unfortunately, it depends on every microwave. However, if the food was in the fridge, under normal power, it should take around 2 minutes to reheat.

    How would i make a warm up:

      Hi, We would suggest warming up the Wings, mash and gravy together. The slaw needs to stay cold. Corn bread is much better warm. You can warm it up in a microwave for around 10 seconds or in the oven till feels warm. Hope this helps.

      • extremely difficult to even see what's evne in each pacakaging. It's like a jigsaw puzzle. I got like 10 different packaging all frozen and not very obvious what they are.

        I suggest keeping the salad and bread in the fridge and rest freezer. Frozen veggie is hard to unfreeze without heating or letting it rest for hours.

    Order received today, thanks. Still cold, not frozen. I'd be concerned if it had taken any longer to arrive though - obviously not transported as cold goods (guessing if that's possible it's more expensive).

    It would be good to have some labels on things - I can't really identify what's what and what goes with what. Just something to identify it would be great, even just some coloured labels to mark things as "together" would be good.

    • Great to hear… yeah they look small packed but they everything is weighed and are basically the same serving sizes we serve in the restaurant. The feedback in the restaurant is that the serves are large. Glad you liked them!

      Thanks for the order… Mostly the packs will be frozen, unfortunately. It is just easier to make sure that everything stays fresh. Sorry, you might have to wait a day after pickup to eat them. We don't recommend defrosting in a microwave… You could defrost in a low temp oven. That could work to make the defrosting process faster.

  • Received mine few days ago, overall quite nice and big portions. The food however did not come frozen, everything was melted and was cool to touch like tap water and had one package leak out of its vacuum package. Also would of been nice to have things labelled. Good job!

    • Could you please Direct MEssage us with your order number. We will check which courier was used. We are finding that a couple of packages arrived with small leaks. Want to make sure not to use that courier again. Also, we will be able to resend some of the items for you to make up for the lost items.

  • Got my meals today. They are SO tasty. Loved them!

    Some of the bags were defrosted but still cold. I didn't mind because we were going to eat them soon anyway. Between a recyclable paper box and a non-recyclable styrofoam box, I think I'm quite happy with the paper box that you guys used this time.

    I ordered quite a lot to make the most out of shipping so my freezer is pretty full now. Can't wait to go through them then try your other dishes.

  • Hi. Our Mexican chipotle chicken bowls arrived tonight but the reheat instructions I think are for the bbq packs? How should we reheat? Remove the sauces and 3-4mins in the microwave?

    • Yes absolutely. Please do not reheat the salsa and sour cream. The rest just in a microwave till hot. Depending on the Microwave, 2 to 3 minutes should be ok. You are also welcome to move the contents to a plate or a bowl and reheat.

  • Ordered 15 and just got delievered this morning, The lack of any labelling is a problem as I did not know which items belong to which meal packs. It would've been good if all items in a meal are packaged in one bag.
    The meals seem to have been defrosted and there were grimes so could've been some leakages.

  • I ordered over 10 days ago and after 3 different SMSs with different dates (and from different numbers) I still dont have a definitive pickup date for my order. Quite frustrating from a planning point of view as I normally order from other actual meal providers and this has thrown it all off - original order date was 28th with the option to pick on 3 days later.

        Got overwhelmed with orders… Thanks to everyone and yourself of course. We are back on track now. Chefs really appreciate the fact that they are working their normal rostered hours given pretty much 90% of hospitality staff don't have work. Originally we did not expect the number of orders that we received. So that took us off guard. Made you guys wait… very sorry about that, but extremely appreciative of your support. As you can appreciate, we don't make any money selling food for $5.9 but we can keep the chefs working.

    With Easter holiday coming it seems that will have to be another week.

    Since many people were to self isolate for 14 days, could you consider cancelling those orders that you won't be able to delivery in 14 days or even 10 days?

    • Hi, can you please let me know your order number. We are working over the Easter holiday so if your order is local, we will get it to you. If interstate, we will be able to send it out on Tuesday.

        • We are not able to send your order due to Easter. If we send it today, you will not receive it till Tuesday by which time it will be warm. Because of Easter, the earliest we can send it out to you is Tuesday next week. You placed the order on Monday this week, so with the stated 3 days preparation time, we would dispatch today. However, Easter just like Xmas delays everything.

          • @gregor20: Finally got an email saying it's coming. But the ETA is 17/04/20.. Would it survive 3 days in transit? I suppose it would be warm by then?

            • @FatTofu: We have packed orders that might travel for longer with 3 times more ice sheets. We believe it should be fine. However, if it arrives warmer than it should, we will refund our order.

              • @gregor20: Finally arrived today. Unfortunately half of them have become warm as they seemed to have slided out of those 2 ice packs during transit (30+ oC today on the Gold Coast). The insulation layer was not well wrapped that one pack of food was even in contact with the shipping box. The other half were still in between ice packs but they were very fluid. Perhaps it'd be a good idea to staple the insulation or even the ice packs together? Thanks for the effort but I'd appreciate if you could refund my order.

                • @FatTofu: refund done… looks like the couriers are not able to keep the promised delivery time. Unfotunately things are just not working as they used to during this time.

  • Had the Mexcian pulled Pork bowls today. I must say they were pretty damn delicious. And a pretty big serving size as well.

    And they arrived perfectly frozen, which I must say is about on par with the last few Uber Eats/Deliveroo orders we've placed too :D

    You've nailed the price point with these I reckon. Once we get through our first order I'll be sure to order more.

    • Thanks for the feedback. Glad you liked them. We really do worry about portion sizes. Seeing a bunch of other companies doing potion sizes that are around 350g was really strange for us. Through this process, we had a few mishaps but we are learning and every new order receives a better experience. Logistics required to get this right is something new to us.

      • Honestly i appreciate the fact the portion sizes are one thing i never have to worry about at third wave so much. Itโ€™s such a simple thing that i just dont get why some restaurants serve a small amount of food even when the dishes have stuff that can be cheap filler to make the customer leave satisfied and not hungry (like rice or fries or whatever).

        Btw greg i sent an email to my order receipt because i needed to make a change to the order but didnโ€™t hear back. Can you help me?

  • I received my order last night but unfortunately it was missing a corn bread and a coleslaw :(

    Also, it would be nice if the labeling was a little clearer. The order contained the Burger Mac and a couple of meals that come with mac and cheese, but all three were just labeled as mac and cheese. Iโ€™m presuming one of them is Burger Mac because it appears slightly larger.

      • I donโ€™t usually eat much in the way of carbs but ended up eating half of the Burger mac that was for my wife, it was worth it!

  • Hey rep/ozbargainers, how would you suggest we reheat the mash?

    We mixed it with the gravy then microwaved for about 5mins but the texture was really grainy.

    Any suggestions on how we could've done it better or was it just the mash?

      The mash I heated was a little grainy but I figured that was my fault as I drained the liquid from the pouch before putting the potato in a bowl and heating it.

      I microwaved it for 2 mins, added some butter and gave it a stir then microwaved it for another 2 mins. I only tasted a little of it before serving it to my wife but it sounds like this was a lot smoother than yours. The gravy was heated separately and added after everything was plated.

      Next time Iโ€™ll try heating the mash at maybe 60% power and for 6 or 7mins.

        thanks for your input. Yes you are right slower reheat is always better. This allows for a gentle increase in temperature without cooking much further.

      Hi, slow reheat is always better… even in an oven under foil. It's best to reheat the gravy separately and then add to the hot mash.

  • The meals have absolutely been delicious. I've tried all the $5.90 meals, most of the $8.90 meals and the ribs.

    As per above, just some minor things like partially defrosting of some meals, was sometimes hard to know which went with which meal/labeling, some things like potato mash didn't reheat well and minor leaking on 1-2 packs.

    Nonetheless, I'll definitely make another order in a couple of weeks time! I'll probably grab a few bowls next time. Will you be thinking of rotating some of the $5.90 meals in the future for variety?

      Thank you. We are almost done with printing all the labels so that problem should not repeat in the future. Yes we are looking at making some more options available in the near future, in fact we will be bringing out some $4.9 meals as well.

      Regarding the other issues you mentioned, we are working hard on better packaging techniques.So in the future leaks should be eliminated.

      Regarding Potato Mash, it's interesting that when large commercial companies make Mash they put so much foreign crap in there like stabilisers, thickenrs etc… that reheating work well… Looks like when a pure product is made with just potatoes, cream and butter it does not fare as well.. We are working on new recipes that will stand up to reheating better.
