He actually sold the box?? o.o"

      • Common trick to sell stolen gear. Buy a box then it looks like you have owned it.

  • I use this charger:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/GP-Battery-Charger-Rechargeable-Batt…

It's a 2 hour fast charger, that also tells you if individual batteries are charging or ready. It also detects batteries that are not suitable for charging, or batteries that are no longer capable of holding a usable amount of charge. I got this in HK 3 years ago with 4 AAA NiMH batteries for HK$180.

Not sure if anyone can find it elsewhere for cheaper than the link I provided, but if you can, I highly recommend it! (It can charge both AAA and AA NiMH batteries.)

    • Most people recommend charging nimh's for 16 hours at 10% of their capacity in ma.
eg 200 ma for a 2000 mah battery.

A 2 hour quick charge is not meant to be that kind to the batteries.

      • The manual for the MAHA 9000 says to charge at 30%. So a 2000 mah should be charged at 600 or 700 mah (around 3 hours). The 10% charge is for when you need to try and repair a battery that isn't charging anymore, or when you are breaking in a new (non Low Self Discharge) battery.

  • Sweet, mine have shipped already.

  • Noooo.. How come I missed this big time..

  • damn just got home and saw this now, good bargain

  • Similar price at Amazon but you be waiting a long time for delivery.

  • I have a old 2amp 12 volt dc transformer I use to charge rechargables including regular alkaline batteries. Only takes afew seconds to fully recharge them.

  • Must admit… I purchased 2 packs this morning, only because they're glitter…

  • DSE Must of had quiet a lot of stock to clear out thats for sure

  • they are quick as I have received confirmation and one dispatch email from them.

    • lol, I know the guy who's selling those. In fact, I bought my first Eneloops from him, same deal (only used a few times for camera flash, pretty much new). Legit :)

  • +1

Well I've put down the money for 2.
Looks like it pays to check twice =)

  • just grabbed some on backorder…

junglejumble's thread pointed me here, so its kind of bad luck for his promotional price that its back on..

  • +2

Sweet, i purchased one yesterday, and i know i dont need them, but im going too order a 2nd set now so i can have 2 of every colour, easier to match up.

    • +2

sigh that was my motivation too. I only really needed one packet but the thought of having a purple and a yellow battery in my wireless mouse gave me a tummy ache.

  • checking out is showing $30+ for this…. when I added to the shopping cart it was $19.99.

  • +1

Backorder works fine. Maximum order quantity of 5. :D

  • I bought 1 set yesterday morning, and it went out of stock in the afternoon. I'm glad that it is back on again today, because I just went for my 2nd set. Great price, can't resist the offer.

  • Got one. Thanks a heap OP.
Can I charge these with my Eveready Ni-MH Charger?

  • +1

Just ordered another set, they are on backorder, but at least now I can pair up these stupid colors!

A La Crosse BC-700 on the way from Amazon as well

    • Why didn't I think of that! -_-

  • Seems like I missed out a second time. Just says "out of stock, product currently unavailable" now :(

    • yes, it says out of stock now….

    • +1

I missed out again as well.

    • +5

I think junglejumble bought the rest to resell :P

  • Managed to order 2 packs of glittery goodness today before they said out of stock again! Thanks OP!

So I was having a look on amazon at chargers (specifically the La Crosse BC-700) and came across a pack of 16x 2000mAh enerloops for $38.95USD, they appear to be the equivalent if you were to ignore shipping or share shipping charges across multiple items. Are they equivalent? How are they different to the white ones you generally see in shops or these glitter ones (the pic is blue)?

And just before I hit post there's these for 38.55USD which I think are the same and even from the same supplier. Does anyone have a clue bat they can hit me with?

Also does anyone in BrisVegas want to combine shipping on an amazon order? heh…

    • Yes, they are equivalent.

      • We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order.

It seems they don't ship to Australia.

        • Try amazon.fr - they do very reasonable shipping to AU

        • Ahh bum ohwell. Amazon wouldn't let me look at shipping charges without logging in :( It looks like there's an 8 pack directly from amazon for < $20 that will ship here but this still doesn't include postage and even after logging in I can't find out wtf it will cost grrrrrrr. I give up!

      • I went up to the final confirmation step
        Shipping $8.55 for me.

Has anyone calculated how much it costs to recharge one of these batteries, approximately?

  • ARGGGG!!! SO MAD!

I wanted some of these and missed the twice. Damn having a job interfering with my bargain hunting!

    • .

  • i knoooww.. how did i miss this!? theyre sooo cute!

        • Gender IDs can be faked.

        • just teasing about the " I love it … And I'm a man part mate:p

  • Can someone advise on how long is too long to have brand new batteries sitting not being used?

And is better to discharge them and let them sit?

    • +1

These are Eneloops. i wouldnt worry too much.

    • I have given away my 50 odd rechargeable batteries because of rapid self discharge and have it replaced by eneloop. It is that good that I have bought over 100 eneloops recently.

      • +1

Damn, what are you doing with 100 Eneloops? Are you running your own UPS or something?

    • +1

3 years I think is the eneloop

75% capacity after 3 years of storage

      • bit late but thanks for confirming guys, much appreciated

  • Someone make this thread 300!!

  • Just checked with brother in Hong Kong genuine Eneloop 4's is selling for HK$75 all the time, as 1 Au to 8HK$ i.e. It is around A$19 for 8's if you can pick up some in HK.

    • +4

      Can he provides free delivery?

  • +1

What shop in HK? I have friends there let me know please :)

    • me too, which shop please?

  • The packaging is too beautiful to open :) I have checked all my batteries and the voltage are all the same. Great batteries.

  • So do we just use them straightaway or charge them before use?

    • They should be mostly fully charged, you can use them straight away (it should say this on the packaging?!?)

Optionally put them on a drain/recharge cycle if you have a more advanced charger.

    • +1

      You can do either.

If you only have a basic charger then it would be best ot use them first so when you charge them they are flat

  • MINE ARRIVED. so pretty. hey people, in sydney cbd near cirq quay, anyone want to barter so i can have 2 same colours ? msg me

  • Anyone order as part of the original batch and still waiting for delivery?

  • Mine arrived yesterday they look great as far as batteries go just wish I would have bought another pack.

  • Got this email from DSE.

    Dear Online Customer,

Thank you for your order for the new 8 pack of Sanyo Eneloop AA Glitter Batteries.
We wish to advise that due to the overwhelming success of the promotion Sanyo has experienced some supply shortages.
Please rest assured that Sanyo is working hard to supply Dick Smith, with stock expected to arrive by 13th October. Your order will be dispatched as a priority once stock is received.
Dick Smith would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

13th October is quite late. Not very happy :(

    • Look on the bright side. Because they hold their charge, they'll still be fine by October 13th !!

    • +1

it is still better than these who can't get the deal, isn't it?

  • man my order didn't get collected and they are sending it back to HQ and I can't get them for the same price. boo hoo =|

    • may be , they will be coming to other few buyers, whose orders are stuck due to no stock.
BTW, why did you not give a positive vote, if you liked and bought the deal?
