  • seems to good to be true?

  • $1000+ for a bloody tablet? Geez who has got that kind of money to waste?

    • Yes, my thought too. Though it is powerful enough to be used as a laptop and desktop replacement. Just add $$$ for Apple-sanctioned keyboard and pencil.
Downside is that unlike a Macbook, you are locked into installing only Apple-approved apps.

It's a pretty rocking tablet though. Makes the regular iPad look like an Android tablet in comparison.

Have you seen what apple fans will spend on a pc?
      https://www.apple.com/au/shop/buy-mac/mac-pro

      • I just checked it out as I was curious (I would never buy it and couldn't afford it as well)

Mac pro with all bells and whistles A$79,887.98
You still can add on Pro Display XDR — Nano-texture glass for $9999.00 and pro stand for $1699.00
I wonder whoever purchased it must be very rich

It's not for the average home user. It would be businesses buying the higher spec machines. If you were a photographer or filmmaker and required that kind of horsepower, you might also consider buying one for home. $20K not too much to spend on business expenses considering a tradie might need to buy at least that much in tools, vehicle, etc.

      • Don't forget the $1,699 monitor stand!

      • No, where have you seen Apple 'fans' buying a Mac Pro?

Same thing can be said for those who buy Mercedes.

      • In the 90s and 00s weren't they known to be unreliable cars?

      • It’s different. A Toyota can get you to your destination but an iPad is very different to a Lenovo or Samsung tablet. Ones got how many cameras on it?!?

That was my thoughts until I looked at its editing capability. Since Adobe released fully functional Lightroom and reasonably functional Photoshop apps for the iPad Pro, I no longer travel with a laptop. The USD-C port allows me to plug in a card reader and RAW (both .CR2 and .CR3) images transfer directly onto the ipad and then are backed up to the Adobe Cloud. Editing on the iPad is really easy with the apple pencil and I can export in web size jpg and upload to my website or social media in a few clicks. Before Adobe came to the party, I wasn't interested at all.

After officeworks price match it would work out to be $1159.019. Expensive but very great price for a brand new model!

    • Do they price match online stores?

  • It looks like online Officeworks store does not have any stock for that model :(

    • They still have stock.

      • Changed the postcode from 4000 to 2000 and now it is available for an online order. Hm…

      • Can't find any stock in all stores around me :(

        • you can price match online

  • "Bargains" to be gotten on eBay for 2018 models. Just as good unless you need those cameras.

  • Good luck getting any of these quickly, they are simply estimating when apple might give them stock and that will depend on if supply meets demand for Apple.
    It's even a 2 week wait buying directly from apple (I purchased a 512 wifi/cell ipad yesterday)

  • Bends too

  • All of them seem to state 'Call us for an ETA'
Doubt officeworks will price match as it needs to be in stock

  • Had been looking to get one of the newer iPad pros but my 10.5” 2017 iPad Pro is still going strong, and I grabbed it for $600 2 years ago…

  • I tried a price match at one Officeworks store - was told that since the warranties didn't match they wouldn't beat it… Not sure what he was on about though. Seems fine to me?
Drove to another store and they price beat no worries. Good timing as it seems to have dropped from "139 Units In Stock" to "Call us for an ETA" very quick…

    • Yeah, just want to buy, and after few hours it shows "call us…"

      • At least there are still a few models still available.
        11" 512gb SG Wifi
        11" 128gb Silver Wifi+Cell

Thank you for the post, what a great deal on a new generation iPad Pro :). I made my purchase through Office Works and took advantage of the Price Beat Guarantee.

Thanks OP price matched officeworks when this was posted ! It’s coming today !

  • Finally thought I'd pull the pin and do a price match with OW.
They claim they have no 11 Pro (2nd gen) with cellular across VIC at all (warehouse and in store).
ehhh hopefully this site's prices stay the same and I can try again on monday.

    • Yep, I ordered one through apple directly and it's a 2 week wait while stock is sent/made from China.
If apple don't have AU stock, fat chance of getting them fast from anywhere else! (for cellular models anyway)

        True this.
I assume you paid full RRP?

        • I've been refreshing the optus site for a couple of months now hoping they will have stock as that normally works out to be a good deal, but to no avail.
I figure at home in lockdown, why not have a treat of a new ipad to play clash.
I never pay full retail, but have made the exception here, gotta treat yourself every now and then and I haven't updated for a couple of years because it hasn't been worth it (nearly got the 2018 Pro, but Optus stuffed me around so I didn't bother.

Nearly went nah with the two week wait, but I expect any other retailer will be a month at best so bit the bullet and paid the $$$ probably regretting it…. until it comes ;)

          • @John Dough: Please hand in your ozbargain pass
LOL (but on a serious note I agree and why not… treat yourself if you can afford it!)

            • @ezza: Haha I know!!
You would not believe it, but they are in stock at Optus now two days after I got sick of waiting, and 1-5 day delivery apparently!
Same RRP over the 12, 24 or 36 Months, and have to sign up to a data plan of >=$15
              Annoying.

  • Prices have gone up. $1231 for 128GB and $1389 for 256GB, plus shipping.

For everyone who missed out.. this looks like a better deal then price matching @ OW
