  • I got this email

Stopped my Woolies points going to Qantas. Now getting cash instead.
Going to be a while until I fly again :(
And its nice to get the $10 discount notice popping up on the screen every now and then.

    • I did the same.
also my QF status extended 1 year so not a big deal.

Probably a good predictor that those 3/4/5k bonus points offers won’t be happening till this is over.

    • What offers?

      • The spend $x for X weeks and earn X bonus points offers

        • I might've spoke a little too soon. Just came back from Woolies and found there's a 5x bonus points offer till this Sunday for my Everyday Rewards account.

Hrmm didn't receive the email, but interested. Are there any links you can share?

    • +1

Couldn't find any links on Woolworths rewards or the Qantas site just the email :(

  • +1

Nothing in the email suggests that it is targeted or that you have to register.

Edit: It says you must choose Qantas Points as your reward option for the first time.

It might only be available to people who have not earned points through Woolies before.

I got it despite having woolworths linked with Qantas for the last a few years

Fools keep on participating in spending incentive promotions, which, as the name suggests, causes them to lose more money than if they hadn't participated in the promotion.

    • True

Alternately it's also quite easy to accrue rewards on your everyday spend.

    • +4

How do you lose money by buying the things you normally would and scanning a membership card?

      • With some offers they increase the minimum spend beyond what people would normally buy gradually, and some fall for it and increase their spend accordingly

        • +1

There is nothing wrong with that if people buy things they were going to buy in the future anyway

  • Title needs changing. Earn 10 Qantas Status Credits (50 max) for every 1000 Qantas Points earned via Woolworths Rewards

  • edit - misread it.

Need good deals from Woolworths now. With their 10x point on broccoli is too hard to get 2000 points.

    • you'd need to eat plenty of greens to get 2000 points.

      • $200 worth of broccoli or broccolini I'd say.

  • What does status credit do again?

    • Go up tiers. Bronze -> Silver. Silver -> Gold etc. You get different perks for different tiers.

  • So does it work if you convert a bulk amount of woolworths reward points? Or you have to earn them as you go?

    • They convert automatically, when you hit 2000 Woolworths points they will automatically convert them to 1000 Qantas points.

  • I got 10x points for broccoli :(

  • If you’re trying to make the most of this deal and get some “cheap” status credits (if you’re chasing lifetime gold for example) you can use the $50 eftpos gift cards deal with bonus points that was in this weeks catalogue, expires tonight!

    • What is this eftpos deal all about? Could you please.elaborate?

      • +1

No worries - if you look in the current Woolworths catalogue that ends tonight there’s a deal for 1000 bonus points with a $50 or $100 eftpos gift card purchase. $50 one gives you maximum return of course.

        • Spewing, I just missed out.

          Appreciate your effort, thank you.

Received my 50 status credits from Woolworth's :)

    Here is what i did:

Signed up for Woolworth's car insurance with the code 20KR which gave me 20,000 Woolworths rewards points which then converted into 10,000 Qantas points and 50 status credits :)

Note: I already had Woolworth's car insurance, I cancelled the existing one and signed up again with the code.
