  • It says "awaiting stock" - I'm not sure how this is different to "out of stock" in reality…

    • Mate If you look at store pickup u will some store has availability

      • It only shows Berrimah for me? I put in 2000 and 2025 postcodes, and that was the only store - is there another page where we can check other store stock?

        • i am not sure. try to add it for delivery.. see what happens

I got the 2 camera & home base deal back in November for $399 from Good Guys eBay. Great system. Easy set up. Long battery life. Good quality picture. Never had an issue with it.

        • +1

I got the 2c system a few months ago too. Really impressed with it. Easy to set up and use, good picture quality, excellent night vision, and great that there’s no need for ongoing subscription.

      • I have been using 2c setup of 2 cameras for the last 2 months (lol too many 2's there). No issues, works great and easy setup.

  • Still damn expensive for what it is. I know it's wireless and all, but $1k for 2MP/1080p cameras is still expensive.

    • +1

i do too. I am more interested in 2C model but thats not on sale so… :(

Definitely a big premium for those of us who can't/won't lay cable. I look with envy at the prices of the PoE equivalents…

    with 365 day battery life

How did they get it to last exactly 365 days, or is it just a fluke?

    • not sure mate.. just copied from the add :p i was expecting some user will clarify it here as i couldn't get authentic Aussi review :D :D

      1. No more, no less.

Firmware installed to make it stop working after. /s

      • That makes sense now…

        • Its still $999 and zero cents

      • sorry didnt get you man, what you mean?

        • +1

I actually typed "365 ." without the space but it somehow changed to "1."

Was meant to be a joke like in Simpsons where the bomb shelter could only withstand an exact megaton bomb.

Hi JV, i got this from JB in Nov 2019. installed in early dec, still got 2 bars in battery after 6 months. obviously battery life will depends upto how often camera triggers recording but happy will it so far.

  • I'm going to be picking up a camera system soon, wheres the best place to read up about them?

    • I saw some reviews in Youtube.. You can check. i am also in the market for a wireless security system . and Eufy 2 or Eufy 2C has the best reviews till now.

      • It seems like all the reviews on other systems i was looking at are all too positive, which leaves me very sceptical if they're just paid advertising for the products..

There's a lot here. Someone had a good summary of the main wifi ones but I can't find it. This was the most recent discussion https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/533497

I settled for the eufy's for a few reasons:
      -no subscription
      -remote viewing
-either 365 or 180 day battery life (recharging is via micro usb). Some competitors have solar panels so no need to charge.
-the cameras stream to the homebase which you can stream wirelessly
-can connect the storage to a NAS. I haven't done this
-there is meant to be a windows app in development for release this year but still waiting

      Downsides
      -have to charge the units
-homebase 2 only has 16gb (14.8gb actual) of storage. Not expandable yet.
-for a better security you need a UPS so it still save footage in case of power outage
-slightly annoying to bulk download footage (my plan is to download and upload to gphotos. Can name cameras so can search for files eg eufy_sideentry)

    • u have 2C or this one? this one supposed to be for a year

      • Yes, second gen (2C) got 180 days battery. i got both and good thing is newer version of camera syn flawlessly with gen 1 home-base.

so are you saying if i get a 4 Camera 2C for $634 is a good price? and good buy?

          • @Fuzzy69: Yes, i would. nothing like previous Supercheap (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/525202) auto deal but still good price. you can sell single camera for $189 if you don't need all 4.

            • +1

@DarthVader: I picked up the 2C super cheap deal, has been night and day from my Uniden setup I had before.

Looking to pick up a 3rd one to fill out my final blind spot.

            • @DarthVader: Just bought Eufy Cam 2C 4 cameras for $634 + 3 Sensors for $117

              • @Fuzzy69: Would love to know where you grabbed those deals - great prices!

                • @y2k: jb commercial ;) corporate sales

            • +1

@DarthVader: Where does one buy these single cameras for $189?

      • A year would be in the best condition like low traffic and the record settings set to Eco. I have one camera at the side of the house and that still has charge left 10 months later because of low foot traffic.

I have mine set to record events for longer so it uses more battery. I think 5 months is great and it was better than I expected. So far the 4 cameras have recovered 16,084 clips to date so they are very active.

    This or a reolink?

    • +1

For the price I went with Reolink

      • Do you store videos with the reolink? Or do you just use it for live viewing ?

        • +3

I've only just ordered and won't arrive till tomorrow but i'll be doing local sd card/cloud/live viewing. From what i've seen on youtube they are are excellent/seamless.

Also added the solar panel so i'll never have to worry about battery life for $115 per cam + panel.

  • Can you watch a live stream remotely with this cam?

    • +2

yes, But that would affect battery life. I was watching live stream while i was overseas last year.

      • Thanks, at least good to know the function is there. Want to monitor the dog at the backyard when not home and wondering if the sensitivity can be dumbed down to detect animal movement.

  • I have the 1st gen Arlo and I was sick of the batteries need recharging.

Ended up using a 1080p Hikvision camera and paired it with a Blueiris PC - works really, really well. Picture quality blows the Arlo out of the water.

I understand not all can run their own cabling, but if you own your home, it's really not difficult and is either cheaper, or equivalent price to a 4 camera wireless system.

  • Just like everyone else I got the 2c. Only charged it once in 6 months. Quality pretty good and so is night vision. Peace of mind is fab

  • Does this require to go out to cloud first?

    • Cloud is optional. It saves in sd card of base station.

      • do you know the subscription costs for cloud ?

  • Would be nice to purchase Eufy2 Cameras instead of 2C.

eufy cam 2 is not available here in australia

      • +1

It is. I picked up some in March from Supercheapauto. I had to email Anker to update the firmware remotrpy on my Homebase 2 for V1 cameras to work with my new Homebase 2 (Eufy2 and Eufy V1 use different homebases)

        • +1

Are you sure you don't mean eufycam 2C?

  • How does Homebase 2's repeater mode work? Does it extend your home WiFi network, or the Eufy's own one? If so, do you need at least two Homebases, given it's separate to your home WiFi? In short, is this the answer to the complaints that Eufy's homebase has terrible range?

    • It should be eufy's network as the cameras connect to the HB2. Eufy recommends connecting the HB to the router via ethernet.

Coverage depends on the distance and interference. It goes fine for me at around 10m range and through a brick wall and full bars of signal.

      • That's what I figured - but I'm not sure what signal the Homebase 2 is repeating? Unless you guy two Homebases, how can it repeat a signal?

        • I don't think it necessarily repeats a signal. But in the app rather than have two separate homebases it has them as one network.

          • @Caped Baldy: Ah - so you do need two Homebases to extend the range. It's not like it somehow joins forces with your home wifi to create some super extended range area…

has anyone got these to work with their google home displays?
