I saw this in my Email saying its on sale and I was looking for some Monitors and this caught my eyes.
Don't think its $1400 monitor but a $488 for 165hz G-sync Monitor is good deal in my opinion.
Also don't forget the shopback 2.5% cashback~!

There are also OMEN Sequencer Keyboard for $100 to grab and some more but I don't find them to be of a good deal.

    Back in stock now

    And 9% cashback from Shopback

    • Gg with this 9% cash back!!

  • I have the omen 25 monitor, omen sequencer and reactor mouse already.

Tempted to get this for a second monitor at this price. I think I’ll just wait for a deal on the 49” ultra wide instead though

  • +1

Just purchased one with the 9% cashback. I don't even need a monitor XD

    • How does shopback work? i purchased a monitor but didnt receive anything. It was activated on my chrome extension, do i just wait 2 days for it to appear? or what's the deal with it?

      • +2

It takes a couple of days to show up in your Shopback account, then it can take like several weeks before you can withdraw the cash. I just go through the Shopback site and click through the link to the retailer's site from there (and turn off adblocker).

        • are you able to check right now if you set it up correctly? will it be under cashback activity yet?
because i'm not sure if i did it correctly.

          • @Reluctance: It isn't showing up in my account yet, and I believe the site it would take 2 days

            • @Chivalry85: okay sweet, had to cancel my previous order because i forgot to use shopback. Hopefully it works! Thanks

  • Is it worth adding the 3 years warranty

    • +2

As someone mentioned above, there's a good chance they'd be forced to honour a longer warranty by virtue of the Australian Consumer Laws enforced by the ACCC.

  • Is Shopback activation not working for anyone else? When I try to activate it for HP Australia, the page just goes nowhere.

  • +1

Also guys this can be stack with 28 degrees card offer..

I got 20 for 250 spend so essentially the monitor is 68% off frenzy + 9% shopback + $20 off using cc

    • i only get $10 off $600 spent, so its void for me :/

      • Buy 2 monitors ahha!

  • +1

back in stock, snagged one, cheers op

  • Back in stock, got one, Cheers OP!
    Review here

  • out of stock just as i clicked on add to cart :(

    • It will come back

  • I ended up just getting one… although I do have to mention (if it goes back into stock), the price is actually $448, not $488 like in the title.

  • I missed it again…..

  • Purchased for $447 + 9% shopback a couple of hours ago. It's out of stock again now - keep checking though as it's come in and out of stock a few times in the last 12 hours.

    • they put sold out on the website

  • Does it come with VESA mount?

    • I saw on youtube some says it does but most of them don't..I'm confused lol

    • Yes but it's an adaptor.

  • Why did I only see this now :'(

  • Great deal. Will be interesting to see how they price the incoming model (Omen 27i) which is IPS rather than TN.

  • I have one already (now got extra 2 to play F1 with 3 screens). 165hz G-Sync is great for COD or racing games. TN panel is not bad as I have moved from 4k IPS.

    • feel like 3 screen with tn might be rly bad :/ tell us how it goes though

  • +1

Apart from the initial receipt, has anyone received their shipping information as yet?

    • No, not yet. It did say when I purchased yesterday morning that delivery would be today - but I didn't really believe it, especially with no tracking info yet (which they said would be sent out when it's processed).

      • LOL same here mate. I figured that stating delivery the next day was quite ambitious of them. Jonesin' to get my 1440p Tarkov on.

        • ha yea me too. I'm upgrading from an ASUS 27" 1080 60hz screen from 2013. I just hope my GTX 1070 is going to be able to handle 1440p + 144-165hz - it might be a big ask!

          • @JudgeRizzo: 1440p is going to blow your mind. I haven't received shipping confirmation either and the site did advise it would be next day delivery.

            • @Chivalry85: Looking forward to it! Any insight on whether the 1070 will be up to scratch for 1440p/144hz gaming? Am I gonna have to drop down from the highest settings get framerate that high? Mostly playing TheHunter:COTW and Bannerlord at the moment. I've looked a lot online to find answers, but a lot of the info is now a couple of years old and have mixed messages anyway. I guess all I can do is try, regardless it's going to be a big upgrade.

              • @JudgeRizzo: If i'm running a gtx970, what are the chances of me maximising the 144hz

                • @Reluctance: There's a lot of variables that go into it and I'm no expert. I would say that it depends on the game, but for graphics intensive games i would say it has no hope of hitting high framerates at 1440p at max settings. What do you play? Looking around at what other people with 1440p/144hz and a 970 are saying it's no issue with your eSports games (dota, lol, CS:GO, overwatch), but something like battlefield 1 only about 70-80 fps: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/829868-will-my-gtx-970-…

It's tough to know for sure - so much of the benchmarking and discussion on the 970 is now 3-4 years old. You'll likely have to play at low/medium settings for more graphics intensive games to run it in 1440p with decent framerate to take advantage of the 144hz refresh rate - and I suspect it will be similar for me on the 1070.

                • @Reluctance: More anecdotal old opinions here :)
                  https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/will-a-144hz-1440p-m…

                  Hope it helps mate!

                • @Reluctance: Did a bit more research for you - have a look at https://www.userbenchmark.com/PCGame/FPS-Estimates-Counter-S… and try different games at different settings to see what you'd be capable of hitting (this is assuming your CPU is not a bottleneck either). Playing around with your card at 1440p, here is what framerates others are getting at different settings:
CSGO - Max Settings Average FPS 149
Fortnite - Low Settings Average FPS 135
PUBG - Low Settings Average FPS 82
League of Legends - Medium Settings Average FPS 142
Overwatch - Medium Settings Average FPS 130
Battlefield 1 - Medium Settings Average FPS 75

Too much info to put here - I recommend looking at the games you play, and what other people with your GPU are able to get at 1440p. To "maximise" the 144hz like you say, you need to technically hit that 144 fps - however if you're coming from 60hz, any improvement above 60hz should be noticable (and a lot noticable as you get up to 100+).

                  • @JudgeRizzo: Thanks for the responses,
                    i'm currently running:

Corsair RM650 650W 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular Power Supply
Intel Core i5 6600 Quad Core LGA 1151 3.3 GHz CPU Processor

ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming LGA 1151 Motherboard

Would you be able to recommend a decent yet affordable upgrade (preferably under 1-1.5k)

EDIT: Spoke to an mwave worker, they recommended to change CPU/GPU/MOBO/RAM
                    $1162.

                    • @Reluctance: Honestly, I don't think you need to do all that. The MWave rep just wants to sell you a new PC. Your components are mostly OK, if you are looking for an upgrade I would take your money and put it into a video card. Since this is on this G-Sync monitor post and we're talking about getting the most out of this monitor, personally I think rather than small upgrades to RAM, CPU and MOBO, you'd be better served by a big upgrade to GPU. The CPU that MWave recommended you on userbenchmarks is 9% better than your i5 6600. I don't know what he's thinking honestly, it's hardly worth upgrading at all to just go to a Ryzen 3 3300x. Even the video card upgrade is not THAT big - if you look at Toms Hardware tier list, it's going from a 31% score on the 970 today to 43% score on the 1660.

If it was me (and again I am no expert), and I had that sort of money to spend on an upgrade would be to put the money into a graphics card - I would go with a RTX 2070 Super for $900-$950 (might be able to find it cheaper on sale). Keep in mind that you can sell your 970 as well for ~$300 to offset some of the cost.

If you do want to upgrade everything, I'll be happy to see what I can put together in your budget - but like I said, I don't think it's strictly necessary.

                      • @JudgeRizzo: The only thing putting me off the rtx 2060/2070 is that it might bottleneck. Will that be the case? if the only thing i upgrade is the GPU

                        • @Reluctance: Honestly I don't know enough about the i5 6600 (more of an Ryzen guy) to know for sure, but it seems like the CPU may be a bottleneck but not a big one. Regardless, I think my advice still stands - you're going to get a bigger performance boost out of a big upgrade to your GPU in this situation (switching up to 1440p/144hz) than small upgrades to your CPU, RAM and MOBO. Of course you will get better performance by upgrading your CPU too (and if switching to Ryzen, obviously Motherboard has to be upgraded too). I dunno, maybe best to jump onto a buildmypc reddit and ask the question there - they are much more clued up on this stuff that I am!

                          • @JudgeRizzo: Alright, i'll see how it goes when the monitor gets delivered or cancelled. Thanks Alot!

    • Mine hasn't been shipped yet either.

  • +1

has anyone actually received shipping update?

mine is still "processing" not even production yet.

Update: spoke to their support saying they are allocating stocks to make sure items get delivered asap.

I have a bad feeling about this lol

    • Called their number that they provided, and used live chat a few times to check for the order too.

They said on phone: They will try to allocate stock from overseas inventory and everyone will get their delivery. Won't be cancelled. Around 4-6 weeks max due to the pandemic.

On Live Chat: No updates, wait 24-48 hours after purchasing for updates

Another Live Chat: No updates, could potentially refund due to unavailable stock

      • Lol to be honest I had my doubt when I got the monitor. I reckon they sold about 1,500 units if not more and I doubt they have that much in stock. I would be pretty pissed off if they oversold and leave us with no stock. I missed another sale because I purchased this.

        • Yeah, they mentioned that they oversold in one of the live chats that i was in. Not sure which story to believe at this point, all we can do is just wait and see how it'll go. I bought 2 of the monitors myself.

          • +1

            @Reluctance: Update 2:

Spoke to the rep on the phone, got the response as you did. 4-6 weeks because all local stocks have been exhausted.

I will just wait then. Pretty dodgy of them putting stocks back online without telling everyone they will need to wait

            • @sauce2k: Even the site for the monitor comes up with an error; Internal server error.
              Hopefully all goes well

              • @Reluctance: Yeh not too happy. Considering to purchase the lg850 on ebay with 15% currently.

      • I got same HP call 10 minutes ago as well. I cannot even wait 4-6 weeks as I'm leaving the country in 25 days. This was pretty dodgy. They might have made a lot of money by doing that!

        • Same here, didn't get any update but not getting any call either.
I definitely don't need a monitor in "4-6 weeks"… Any other good options around beyond the LG 850 mentioned above that is quite a bit more expensive?

      • they run me up just now and they cancelled it

  • +2

lol no stock got a call, boo to HP, I ordered mine really early too.

  • +1

yep total BS, got a call from HP, no stock and I ordered mine early as well,

  • No calls, no emails, no nothing from HP. I'm happy to wait. As long as they fulfil it…

  • Did anybody actually get their order shipped? or are they just not paying attention to this thread anymore

  • Just got a call from a lady at HP. They "oversold". Offered me a replacement 25 inch monitor 1080p. I said no to the offer. She then had a look and offered me the 27" HP 27xq - comparison to listed monitor here. I said yes as they're reasonably comparable. She said they can offer the monitor for $415 (JB has for $699) and they will refund the difference.

    New monitor has:
    - better colour depth (8 bit vs 6 bit)
    - manufactured in 2018 as opposed to 2017 for the listed monitor

    However, falls short with:
    - Average response time 5ms to 4ms for the listed monitor
    - refresh rate between 50-144Hz as opposed to listed monitor's 24-165Hz
    - Supports freesync only it appears but can have NVIDIA cards support this with a display port cable.

Reasonably happy they were able to offer something comparable.

    • +1

I got the monitor offer but declined.

I would advise everyone else to refund….dont reward this shit.

      • I haven't gotten the call from them, am i next on the list?

        • i dont know, but if you need a monitor….try getting the price reduced on the 27xq like op did….otherwise look for a VX2758-2KP, thats what im doing now.

          • @Ahbal: i am recalling them and going to suggest they give me the 27xq at 67% off, the same as the omen one. Not fair theyre offering a clearly less exspensive monitor in its place

            • @BraydenF: How did that go for you?

              • @Reluctance: stupid sales guy said he would get the person i spoke to yesterday to call me back and never got a call back lmao

                • @BraydenF: haha, i tried negotiating to waive the $50, but seems like they'll get back to me within 1-2 days.

          • @Ahbal: @ahbal, where are you looking to get the VX2758-2KP from?

            • @lordra: yeh thats why i said look, its in preorder everywhere ive found. centrecom seems the best bet but it says july…many in this thread were recommending it.

    • What about the Omen by HP 25 Display, would that be comparably better than the 27" HQ 27xq ?
Currently running a Nvidia graphics card.

    • Thanks for the info!

I just read the comparison link - "The HP Omen 27 has NVIDIA G-Sync support only and so AMD graphics cards will not be compatible with its adaptive refresh rate"

Dayum my card is AMD lol does this mean I should just cancel my order?

      Thanks!

      • Yeah, you want to aim for something with Freesync in that case. Still don't know what to do about my situation though. Hopefully the order doesn't fall through.

      • +1

AMD works till 144hz. Can't get to 165hz. I'd say keep your order, then sell it on the classifieds. Lots of people would want one.

      • -1

I've been on a phone call with HP, they offered me
        https://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Product.aspx…
        OMEN X 25 240Hz Gaming Display
        but for an extra $50.

        Any thoughts?

  • Got a call just then, cancelled the order.

  • So i ordered mine as they went out of stock and put back into stock. I got a call last night saying that they don't have enough for my order? And now they are trying to offer me their freesync 1440p monitor in place of it…

    • which monitor is this?

      • That would be the hp 27xq

        • They offered me the
          OMEN X 25 240Hz Gaming Display
          https://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Product.aspx…
          but for an extra $50.

          What do you think?

          • @Reluctance: I wouldn't do that. No need for 240hz

            • @BraydenF: Kinda seems like more of a bargain, going for a $1100 monitor for $500 (roughly)
or $410 (roughly) for the 144hz freesync one [$600]

Not too sure what to do though.

          • @Reluctance: yeah i wouldnt either since its 1080p. Theres so many better and cheaper options for that.

          • @Reluctance: Nah that sucks… downgrade to 1080p, screen size just for an extra 100hz that most people won't feel the dofference with anyway + $50 extra…

Yikes never buy from HP again lol.

            • @baegmon: i'm currently running 2x 60hz monitors.
However, got hung up on during a phone call with HP customer service. Interesting..

              • @Reluctance: Yea going from 60hz > 120+hz you will definitely notice a difference, not much though from 120 ~ 200+.
If going with 1080p, there are honestly better choices like the AOC 24G2 or LG 27GL650F with better panels and similar if not much cheaper price points.

                • @baegmon: They're both Freesync monitors though. I'm currently running a nvidia graphics card.

                  • @Reluctance: That's fair. Really comes down to how much you value g-sync I guess.
Personally, I'm willing to just get my refund and use my nvidia card with freesync and a monitor with a better panel.

  • +1

Ordered two and got cancelled just now

Due to either payment clearance issues, incorrect shipping address details, suspected fraudulent activity, inability of HP to get in contact with you or other issues.

    • +1

They oversold, and apparently aren't producing them anymore. You'll receive a call later today or tomorrow regarding the order.
Along with the two offers that they have given everyone else.

      Option 1 : HP 27xq 27-inch Display
      https://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Product.aspx…

      Option 2 : OMEN X 25 240Hz Gaming Display
      https://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Product.aspx…

      • Thanks for the info, but non of these two I'd choose….

        Opt1: RRP $559 - and the design looks sh*t

        Opt2: I bought a 27 inch 2K, why would I take a 25 inch FHD instead?

        • Personally I like the design. It's a little bulky than the omen but overall not too bad. Some people likr myself may like the green backlighting too.

Also the ability to rotate 90 degrees would be attractive to some people.

        • i dont see how they think offering a $559 monitor for a $1300 one is gonna make people happy.

          • @BraydenF: They said that they're no-longer producing the OMEN by hp 27 anymore. Think they're trying to make people less unhappy with the $1100 but with an extra $50 charge
