Deal is pretty average for a click frenzy tbh.
I've been trying to unsubscribe from Kogan after noticing they were selling 50ml Dettol sanitiser for $15 (!!) but I'm in dark pattern hell (dark patterns is what they call websites who make it near impossible to find things). It was just offensive to me that he could sell that sanitiser for that much especially considering Ruslan Kogan claims to offer the best prices. But rorting your fellow Aussies is way uncool!
I've also tried blocking emails but they keep coming. Even marking them as spam doesn't work. There is something encoded in their emails that makes them just harass you basically.
If anyone can help me get rid of Kogan from my life, I'd really appreciate it. I don't like being harassed.
For anyone thinking of buying or subscribing to Kogan, you have been warned.
Drop a line to to their customer service inbox and quote the Spam Act. They're legally required to include a working unsub link in their promo emails. That said, they do have a grace period of 5 days to fulfil the request.
Thanks for the response. I've tried everything for weeks. My next step is to call the Ombudsman. Reddit has a dedicated thread talking about it.
I also don't like supporting companies which pollute our planet with useless or low quality junk. A gadget for everything, sheesh. I prefer a simpler life. EDIT: … and I don't like wasting money.
I unsubscribed. That fixed it. That was a year or two ago so maybe they've changed things.
That was my first attempt and no cigar. They've changed their coding it seems. It's parasitic.

@Yamai: You're right. When you follow the 'Unsubscribe' link in the email, the most prominent option only turns off one class of emails. They hide the 'Unsubscribe All' option near the bottom of the page (need to scroll down on mobile).
You can forward spam (either email or sms) to acma. Who knows what will happen but it can't hurt to try.
