  • is this similar to Coles mastercard? but a Visa card?

    • +2

Have a read through Product review to see if you're game enough before purchasing

        • +2

Reviewed by noobs that I never read. True pros buy 5+ each time on sale and wipe out every cent on the cards without issues.

          • @Neoika: Teach us your way

          • +1

@Neoika: people are saying its hard to check the balance (often offline) along with other annoying and scammy fees
But I have never tried it myself, so I am just going off the reviews

            • +5

@King Tightarse: Don't need to check your balance if you spend exactly $100 on the first and only transaction that ever goes through the card.

              • +2

@jasonb: Normally I spend $98-99 and leave a dollar or so for fun stuffs.

            • +3

@King Tightarse: there is no longer fees (monthly fees after 6 months) since ACCC made it illegal.

          • +3

@Neoika: Geez, it ain't that hard to use a prepaid gift card.

          • @Neoika: Picked up a couple but unfortunately my other half scanned the same flybuys twice! Do you know if there any issues currently with using this card for multiple transactions?

  • +2

    I want chocolate.

    • +2

      but she likes vanilla ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) !!

      • +2

Can't we agree on Vanilla Chocolate?

  • +2

Have had no problems with this card in the past and found it easy to use.

    • +1

Same. Have used before without any problems. Don't know why there are so many one star reviews. Don't people read terms and conditions?

    • PITA to use in store. Zero problem online.

  • +1

It the limit one per flybuys account? Also don't forget to use McDonald offer if you got it ($5 coupon for paying by Visa card)

    • Where can I get the offer?

    • +4

Offer might not work. Had the offer pop up and paid via Visa but never got the $5

      • The offer says get the voucher within 7 days.
But I got the $5 after nearly a month… maybe because I'm in WA

  • My eyes are on the way out, but I think I can see it says Bonus Points can only be redeemed once, is that correct?

    • +1

Yes; unlike Woolies, they don't allow you to take advantage of it multiple times.

  • Have you used it online few times and .. only issues I had is sometimes the activation used to take nearly 24 hours and not before that so the payment used to fail If made within that timeframe ..

  • +1

Spend $100 get $4.05 of points.

    Is that worth it?

    • +4

Put your $100 in the bank for 3 years and make $4.

      This VVGC looks better.

      • At least you would still have the $104 😀

    • +3

Worth if you use the card to sign up for free trials on various stuff that requires a unique payment method each time

    • +3

This also bumps up your average weekly spending so that your next bonus point offer will be less generous

      • Will it? I take up.similar kind of offer and I still received spend $50 * 4 weeks 10,000 points

        • +2

Happened to me before the pandemic, i was getting $40/$50 minimum spend offer some 2 weeks after i bought $100 gc it jumped to $80 minimum spend

      • +2

        Yep, mine went from $50 x 4 to now $330 x 4. Ha!

Mind you, I do smash through a lot of prepaid visa/mastercard gift cards from Coles.

        • Yikes, i thought the limit is 1 GC per flybuys account

      • Indeed:(((

    • Spend $100 to save $4, where's the sense in that unless it was something you absolutely need or wanted to buy anyway,

      • It only makes sense for someone with an Amex card that pays higher points than their visa/mastercard, also these GCs can be used where Amex is not accepted. Or those who struggle to meet minimum spend on a new credit card to earn bonus points

      • +3

Some Coles stores will allow you to purchase with a discounted gift card so for me it then becomes worth it.

        • And earn 2105 pts to reach another 2000 pts faster.

      • like groceries?

      • +1

Additional minor gain - you can earn cc points on spend that normally would be excluded from earning points (ie rates & water bills in my experience).

Combined with discounted gift cards, my gain is about $9 personally.

  • I get a verification screen where they want to send a code to a mobile number. What's the cheapest way to get a SIM that will last for a full year or have a virtual mobile number?

Also how long does a temporary card last?

    • -1

The deal hasn't started yet, unless this is in reference to the card offered in the deal. Why can't you use your own mobile number? But in reply to your question, probably the Aldi one for $5 which comes with $5 of credit.

It should expire in three years at least by law; not sure what you mean by temporary card?

    • Just use it somewhere else where 3d verification is not required.

    • We need a phone number to activate the visa card?

  • Thanks for the heads up dealbot

  • +2

I couldn't care less about this deal but +1 for the link to the catalogue even if it isn't for my state. Now I can plan week three of my Flybuys promo.

    • So these count as a spend toward the Flybuys weekly points offers?

    • Which location is that catalogue for? cause it looks different than my store

  • Does anyone find this in-store? Cannot find it in Eastgardens

    • +1

Another store has stock and after two days, got the flybys points.

  • +1

I bought one using a discounted gift card. I used the visa card to pay $100 on one of my bills. The visa card is now in the bin.

    • Not many places to get Coles discounted gift cards any more. Where do you buy them from?

      • There's one 5% off portal found in the forum, BPAY only (also accept BPAY from CC). Guess no one wants to make it more exposed and get it shut down. Search by yourself.

      • You can get 5% coles card from good guys concierge. Takes about 3 days for email delivery.

        • If they sent them out, my past experience average is 5 business days plus calling them and push them

      • Big4 rewards have them but charge a 1% credit card fee making them 4% really.

  • Does the bonus points show up instantly?

I purchased one today and haven't received the bonus points yet. Doesn't show up on the receipt either.

    • +1

You must be new to these bonus points offers. Like with normal flybuys points, they show up the evening after your qualifying purchase

      • -1

Oh ok thanks. Will check again tomorrow. Was abit worried, thinking I wasted $6.
