1510

Greetings everyone, thanks to the 25-50% off sale starting tomorrow at SCA, it will bring these security cams down to a great price!

2 Pack Direct Link

The email I received mentions that the discount is 25% off Special Orders, which will bring down the 3 and 4 cams to $411.75 and $524.25 respectively, which I believe is the cheapest I've seen. The 2 camera is not a special order, so this actually might have a higher discount tomorrow, however currently marking as 25% off as a minimum and will update later if it gets even cheaper :)

Free delivery is available on all of these bundles.

Make sure to stack with discounted gift cards (e.g 8% off at Suncorp Rewards) as well as receiving 4% cashback via Cashrewards for further savings tomorrow :)

Seems they have issues getting stock from last deal. I dont want to be stuck with $500+ in Supercheap eGiftcards.

    • +3

Hi, went into store regarding my online order. The manager on duty called the 'Online Team' & I've been told that the EUFY company currently don't have stock to provide to SuperCheap & no ETA on stock arrival. This is for special orders & the 2pk depends on your local store stock. Not sure why they still available to purchase online though. Apparently my last order was processed for refund on Mon but I never received anything. Yes, probly stuck with giftcards.. & unable to get it in time to use for this sale.

    • +2

Hmmm this doesn't fill me with confidence! I held back on the last SCA deal a few weeks back, did some more research and was happy to wait until I saw a new deal for these somewhere. I don't mind waiting for stock but I definitely do not want to end up with SCA eGift cards!

    • I received my order from the last deal (end of May) within 1 week or placing the order!

  • Can you back up recordings on these to a NAS?

  • +6

I have been reading about EUFY 2c for the past hour. This post is creepy af. Do you have one set up in my house?
Was literally going to JB to pay $549 for the 3 camera system tomorrow!

received mine yesterday in the post from the last deal (I'm in WA), have pulled it all out, charged etc. Will mount up over the weekend. seems like a solid product at this price point.

    • +11

have pulled it all out, charged etc. Will mount up over the weekend

Yes that's all well and good, but what about the camera?

    • Whats the update? How was the setup and whats Night vision, and general audio and video quality like?

      • +3

Sorry about not getting back to this thread earlier. Quite happy with the product, super easy installation, have decided to move one of the cameras into a different position which wouldn't be as easy with wired connection.

Build quality seems very good for the cameras, mounts and base station.

Camera features/setup: App seems to work well, took a while to adjust my cameras sensitivity to not pickup false positives (human detection off). have received a firmware update for base station since installing so hopefully support continues, cameras all had firmware updates when first connected.

Range of the cameras seems to be reasonable, My furthest camera has 3/4 bars signal however the image still goes grey intermittently. about 20m from base station through multiple brick walls

Night vision is okay - can see most things, haven't tested the spotlight feature too much but doesn't seem bright enough for the area I'm covering.

Audio quality is pretty good, picks up birds chirping and peoples voices, sometimes it sounds as though it gets feedback from itself(even though it isn't making any noise)

Video quality is okay, As others have said 1080 is fine until you want to zoom in on something for extra detail.

Overall I'm happy with the purchase at this price level (we got the 3 camera setup).

        • Great detailed update, thank you!

    • I got an e-gift card through Suncorp rewards a couple weeks back and it came instantly if that helps

      • ah mine is via AGL rewards, which takes like 2-3 working days

If you are keen I can help out to buy from Reward Gateway 10% at no extra charge.

      • thanks for the offer and would have taken your offer if I am not rushing. I don't want to miss the deal this time so I just purchased it with my credit card. I can't find a cheaper package to replace my old dying CCTV.

        • No problem always happy to help out a fellow ozbargainer. FYI the gift card is delivered instantly though.

      • How to buy using gift cards usingreward gateway? Link/method please?

Can anyone tell if any coupon needed or price will be reduced to advertised %

  • +1

Thanks OP! Too bad they don't have the Eufy Video Doorbell with Base Station

    https://www.myanker.com.au/eufy-powered-video-doorbell-batte…

  • How good are these outside?
I used to buy the Foscam ones and looming to get some outside options.

Wiring is a pain but not impossible as the plug normally fits through an size 8 bit hole

    • +1

These are brilliant. Solid day and night time footage. And for the price it’s a no Brainer

    • If you can/are going to hard wire -> Skip these. Get some Hikvision cams.

  • Homebase2 works with google assistant? another thread says it doesnt anymore

    • Mine is working with Google assistant and can stream through chromecast. But the problem I have is that it can only work either mobile app or homekit. Not both. Was hoping I can repurpose my old iPad mini as a monitor.

  • +1

Are these permanently recording or record upon motion detection?

    • +3

      Record upon motion detection.

  • Can someone comment …how is it compared with Ring Security Cam?
    https://au-en.ring.com/products/floodlight-cam

    • +2

I have the Ring flood light cam.
      My experience with it:

      • It is not too bad.
      • Video quality could be better.
      • It can get activated by wind and flying/crawling insects at night.
      • "People only mode" requires a subscription.
      • Live view and alert load times can vary.
      • Subscription for cloud recording is an additional expense.

I want to jump on the Eufy bandwagon and give it a go.

      • +1

        Thanks

Based on your experience, what are positives of this eufy model over Ring flood light cam?
        https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/eufy-wireless-1080p-secu…

        • +3

Not paying Amazon a subscription for the privilege of viewing records of my own house, on my own hardware that I also paid for, is a pretty big one

      • +2

I have a Ring flood light cam and can't recommend it.

Similar to others' experiences (e.g. https://www.duckware.com/tech/ring-floodlight-cam-review.htm…), the motion detection has been flaky at best and when it failed to detect our car being stolen (as in the linked blog post) Ring customer support was quick to try and blame everything, but, the floodlight cam. The best they could do was offer to replace it under warranty and send me a Chime Pro to "boost the wifi connectivity". Needless to say this isn't a "security" device rather it's a "surveillance" device - good enough for surveillance of the neighbour's cat.

    • +3

I have a Ring Flood Light also, but can hardly recommend. If you want to use the live view, 99% of the time whoever was in view has long since gone by the time the app connects to the camera. And if you want to view the recorded video you have to wait for it to be uploaded to the Ring servers, so again, whatever just happened has long since happened by the time you can actually view it. The Ring subscription is a must, so you need to factor that in. On the plus side, it's better than the $12 Arlec sensor flood lights it replaced, and because it's hard wired there's no worry about replacing/charging batteries etc.

  • I still have mine from last deal but haven't opened yet. Could I return you guys think?

    • +1

If you're a club member, you'll get the difference back in credit anyway…unless you don't actually want them?

      • Thanks. However I'm a member but I dont think they scanned my card when I picked up.

        • Did you order online? If you were logged in, they wouldn't need to scan your card and it should show up in your order history in your account.
If not, do the OzB thing and take em back!

      • You'll only get the difference back if the product went on sale within two weeks of purchase
        source: Use to work there

  • +2

Best option for someone who already has base station + 2 cams and looking to add another 2 cams to set up?

  • Just wonder how this one is compared to a 'commercial grade' one like the HikVision (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/462367)?

Anyone has experienced with these types of cameras and could give some quick reviews?

    • +2

From what I understand, a "commercial grade" one will generally have higher quality images, in particular at night. It will also record 24x7 whereas these record only when motion is detected.

As these are battery operated, they're easy to put up whereas the commercial ones need to be wired up professionally and are powered by Ethernet cables.

Basically you trade off in terms of constant recording and better image quality for convenience of install and cheaper pricing as the install is way easier.

    • +4

My two cents is that wired in PoE units are better, but the Eufy, Arlo and Reolink are the best in the wireless class. Check out 'LifeHackster' channel on YT who does great comparisons of wireless cams/floodlights/doorbells.

From what I've seen/read the Eufy seems to have best price point, easiest set up, best all round cam quality, good app and no subscription requirements. Cams will need to be in range of the base station however which might put off those with mansions/brick walls ;)

      • +2

I liked the solar option with reolink. Have not recharged a battery in 2 years.

        • Highly recommend Reolink, they are probably the best camera system that I have ever used, compare to arlo and eufy, especially the solar panel solution which makes it a no brainer.app wise is great also, most user-friendly and each unit can work alone without any base station.only down side is their battery camera can not work with their NVR, but no big deal in my situation.

  • Do these work with Echo show?
Is there a subscription for event playback?

  • Do they work with google hub max?

    • Yep, you can name the camera i.e backyard and then say "hey Google, show me the backyard" and it will come up. Generally takes 5-10 seconds from my experience

      • Thanks.

  • Hey OP. Is this only online or also instore. However, I haven't received any emails from SC. Does it mean I'm not eligible?

    • From the original deal '25 - 50% off RRP Sitewide @ Supercheap Auto (Saturday, Online & In-Store, Includes 25% off Special Orders)'

  • +1

Anyone know how long the member credit back period is? I'm yet to open the 2 camera pack I bought for $279 in March, but I would imagine the period has expired. I wonder if they would let me return it.

  • Is there a really big difference between 1080, 2k and 4k recordings? I mean will 1080 suffice for picture quality if someone breaks in, or will it be all blurry like what you see in your typical CSI and news reports where you can't even make out the face of the person?

    • +1

1080p should be fine but lots of places recommend filming night in colour to be able to get any good level of detail. The review I saw for this cam model didn't rate the inbuilt spotlight for providing sufficient brightness so they said use an external source for the light or use the Eufy Floodlight product for night specific stuff

  • +3

These prices are close to if not actually wholesale price. I got the 4 camera kit at JBhifi staff price for about $15 above this price.

Kit works well, stores locally and or to a nas drive at no extra cost, of you want to use their cloud service there is a monthly subscription.

Human AI detection works but it's nothing to write home about, I'd say it is slow to identify people and misses with false negative about 30% of the time.

    Battery life is really excellent.

App works well and doesn't spam you like Netgear arlo app does (I have an Arlo baby camera).

  • These or Argus 2's with solar panels?
Was leaning towards the Argus with SD cards so if the power is out, they'll still work, no need for a UPS.

    • +1

I would say definitely the Argus with the solar panel. The "up to" 6 months with EUFY is clearly based on very light usage. If you have the camera in an area with even a moderate amount of traffic, I doubt it would even last a month.

    • I had the Argus 2 and while it is definitely better value overall, I struggled to get them to work on a newer modem/router because the Arcgus 2 is only 2.4GHz. I tried everything possible to force the Argus 2 to connect to 2.4GHz but it just wasn't reliable, etc. I gave up and returned them and have now bought these Eufy cameras in this deal.

  • I rarely purchase from SCA so not too sure where else to find discounted egiftcards. Could someone point me to other options to get the egiftcards as I'm not a Suncorp customer and I dont want to raise anymore questions for my home loan application at the moment?

I had a look on AGL - they sell in denominations of $50 and $100 (7.5% off) but also have a warning that only 3 giftcards maximum can be used online. Looking to see if i could get enough for the 3 or 4 camera sets. Worse case I'll just get 3x$100 - still a $22/50 saving anyway

    • Thanks for bringing this up, I keep forgetting about AGL rewards. It says it may take up to 3 days for gift cards to be sent. Do you or anyone else have experience with this? Cos that’d be no good for this deal.

      • Havnt purchased SCA or ADL rewards before. Entertainment book is also available 10% (-1.25% Card Fee) said delivery within 24hrs, I got mine in about 10mins.

    • Can you let us know how long you had to wait for the gift cards?

      • I ended up purchasing through Entertainment book (10% -1.25%fee) - said up to 24hrs). Got it within 10mins.

      • As mentioned below I put in a 'special order' in a physical shop and paid a cash deposit. Have now purchased gift cards (via AGL) for the balance and they took 12 hours to arrive.

    • +1

for reference if you are also looking around https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards

    • I ended going to a physical shop last-minute and was prepared to pay with normal Cash, but turned out they have to order it in. I paid a deposit and will get gift cards for the remainder.

  • Out of interest for those special orders, is there any reason why i couldn't walk into jbhifi or the likes and price match?

    • You can try but price match usually only works for items in stock.

  • +1

Hey guys what's your experience with the wifi on these? I've got a double brick house with brick internal walls and I can probably centre the base in the house but want cameras around my front and back yard as well as garage if possible - what are your thoughts?

    • You can try the wifi strength keeping the cameras in 3 different places.. probably use wifi extenders..if not return the product.

    • +3

I have Eufy cam1, 9 cameras. I have a 2 storey home, base is centrally placed on lv2.
1 cam is top of facade pointing driveway, 1 inside garage and 1 on a pergola facing pool. the rest situated around house. These 3 cameras all on 1bar and only time I have issues when its windy. All other 6 cams have strong reception. I have these simce Sep2019. I think 3 cams still have over 40% left so maybe Ill get 365days battery life.
      Hope this helps.

      • Hi. What USB storage device are you using to augment the on-board memory?

  • Do you have to pay for storage of videos?

    • No, storage is on the homebase

  • Anyone knows how bad are the batteries in these cameras if they get exposed to sunlight everyday for the entire summer?

  • I have recently bought this through Super Cheap auto. Costed me $529.00 with gift cards. I got the Door sensors too. Really nice Love them. Only once i had a camera sync fail with Home base. But Wifi range is good even in a brick veneer house. battery is still at 99% after a week. highly recommend

  • +1
  • There's the new eufy2 now? Worth the upgrade? Seem like eufy2 still just 1080p anyway.

    • +2

I think eufy v2 gone backwards.
      pro and cons
v1 has 10hr backup battery, microsd slot and usb ports active.
v2: improved sensor, built in 16gb storage, non active usb port, can use with battery operated video doorbell

both have 1080p, facial recognition, can access videos over app

  • Bought the 2 pack at $299, thanks for posting. Shame they didn't have the battery doorbell to go with it.

    • Already got shipping notification. No time for buyers remorse now…

  • +1

Thanks for pointing out this deal. Bought the 2 pack as well - I got a $300 Gift Card at 10% ($270) through work benefits. Add 4% Cashrewards cashback (if applicable/paid) and I'm sitting at a cool ~$259. Yeeeeeeeeeeeah cue CSI Miami music - puts sunnies on

Went the 2 pack as I didn't want to risk the whole special order cancellation issue and be stuck with a large giftcard…
