@gamemaster: They are a commercial hospitality supplier so unless you work in the industry you wouldn't have heard of or had a use for most of the companies that sell this sort of stuff.

Viral marketing means nothing as 99% of the people who see this have no use for the company and probably won't even remember the name in a few weeks time.

            • @whitlam: Have a look at the website. They sell knifes, utensils etc that aren’t exclusively for use in a commercial kitchen.

          • -4

@gamemaster: They'll likely show more intelligence than the "bargain hunters" and choose not to waste more of their time and resources.

      • +4

Exactly, they're going to get so much business from ozbargain users buying commercial grade cooking appliances after this that they should honor the deal.

        • This deal suggests at the right price an Ozbargainer will gladly purchase a commercial grade appliance.

          • +4

            @gamemaster:

            at the right price

And at a 99% discount I’d gladly purchase a commercial refrigerated van that I have absolutely no use for.

        • +1

Yes I can see many new restaurants opening soon by ozbargain users 😆

    • Thanks sound like me and I'm not hiding from my neg .
Order 1 at a time as in the past have got maximum bang for my bucks with bonuses that can happen :)
Obviously your great thinking didn't get aboard the great Bunnings Drone deal and $250 vouchers reward .
Secret that only one of them :)

    • +2

Agree, I think the onus is on the mods of the site to properly manage this kind of thing. The masses will always behave in a "looking out for number one".

      • -1

you must have missed the barely visible mod edit to the deal…

Mod: Likely price error, order with caution.

  • +1

    Dont forget Cashrewards!

    • How could you? We get reminded several times a day here that they exist.

  • +3

Got a call offering me postage for $8.95.. I declined and cancelled the order.

  • Ordered thanks. 👍🏼👍🏼

  • +1

With 90c garbage bags and the welcome code, total of $45.90 is not too bad!

  • -1

Why do people think this is a pricing error? Says on the product page, when ordering, that it is a 99% discount.

    • Don't you think that there is a VERY SMALL chance that they would be losing money selling it at this price?

      • +1

….lol. maybe its a viral marketing strategy?? 🤣🤣🤣

    • +2

Clearly you aren't thinking sanely if your first thought isn t that it is a pricing error.

    • +4

That discount tag is part if an automated script. A human put in the wrong price and the software generates that sale discount tag.

  • -1

No!!! Can I get a refund? I mean a refund for the wife? I just sold her for this! I thought this would be a 100x better cooker than she is.

    • -2

Only after she cleans the house.

  • +3

If you are going to order this for fun don't pay with PayPal.

Even when the store refunds you PayPal keep their fee so the store loses money.

    • Exactly. I'm sure banks take a cut where a credit card has been used as well. Hence my comment above.

        • +4

Just to inform the popsiee, unsophisticated is the wrong word to use there and this is clearly a mistake.

Selling a $4400 product for $50 is obviously an error for everyone except the popsiee.

      • +8

It's clearly a mistake not false advertising.

    • Is that for business PayPal accounts as well or just personal PayPal accounts?

    • +1

The store actually hasn’t charged, it’s a pre authorised amount, that’s what I read when making the purchase. So not sure what implications that has with PayPal fees. Technically they won’t be refunding, but not charging customers if this is a price error.

    • That is not true. Recently sold something on eBay and got my money on PayPal. They also charged me. But then I refunded the money to buyer and he got all his money and I wasn’t charged any fees

      • That is not true

        Yes it is

and I wasn’t charged any fees

        Yes you were.
You were charged fees when the buyer paid you.
When you refunded the buyer PayPal didn't give you a refund of those fees that they took

        • Exactly.. when I refunded something recently, I was charged both ways. Once when I received the money, then an extra 30cents when money was refunded

        • mate, I sold my old MacBook for $500. PayPal gave me $486.70. so they charged me $13.30 ok? and then we cancelled the order and I refunded the money on PayPal and he got his exact $500 back. Who's charged here and how much?

          • @behindmyego: Duuuude, that's exactly how I said PayPal works

The part you aren't understanding is that PayPal kept your $13.30 when you made the refund.

  • I notice the title has been updated to price error? Has anyone confirmed this?

    • +5

      It's a $4400 item selling for $50. Of course it's an error.

Do you think they are making money selling it for $50?

  • +26

Nisbets are the Bunnings of the catering equipment industry. This price is a fraction of what their cost price is (I have the Robot Coupe pricelist) and there is very little chance of any of these orders being honoured. This machine is also not ideal for home use for anyone who is viewing it as a “thermomix” clone. I had one sitting on my kitchen bench for a few months and many of the things that I make in all of my other machines cannot be easily replicated in the Robot Cook. It is a true commercial machine which excels at sauces etc but is not practical for jam making/breads/main dishes etc. And yes I do know what I am talking about…..I have and use pretty much every domestic thermal cooker on the market.

    • +6

      Nisbets are the Bunnings…

Are you getting our hopes up for a $250 voucher if the orders get cancelled? :)

    • Much smart… So wisdom (insert doge meme).

No but actually, solid comment :)

    • -7

You don't get it people if they get it can sell for huge % profits or choose to keep it . Because of what you say I'm sure a lot will choose the bucks .

Add this to your order to get the to over $50 to get the $10 Welcome bonus . https://www.nisbets.com.au/mitre-essentials-slippers-closed-…

Use PayPal in case they sent the slippers and charge the postage as easier to dispute .

    • +1

It's also very big and heavy for a food processor! I agree, excellent in a commercial kitchen but definite over kill for a home.

    • How much did you buy it for ?

    • +3

Damn, just ordered a number of geese for foie gras, are you saying this will be difficult?

  • Amazed how OP hit upon this deal? :P considering the brand is not popular with individuals

  • Awesome, I can put this with the other unused kitchen gadgets. At least I can tell people it's $4k

  • +5

Obvious pricing error, so just wasting everybody's time.

    • +2

That's what everyone said about the Bunnings drone. Sometimes you just have to roll the dice.

      • +3

So you think its a genuine discount? You are actually hoping that this supplier makes the mistake and ships you a piece of equipment for 99% off…. or have to provide a credit to you for offering something that any reasonable person could consider to be a mistake…

The hospitality industry was already under strain… I feel sorry for the staff that will have to tidy this up on Monday :/

        • +2

Of course it's not genuine, neither was the Bunnings drone and a million other things.

  • Bought one, looks good for making baby food.

  • +10

the scumbag resellers opportunistic hopefuls are already listing on gumtree!! 🤣🤣🤣

      …clearly a user from here…

      • +1

Has there been a lot of garmin fenix watches selling cheap here lately?

That was the majority of their listings :)

        • +1

There was a 50% off Garmin code distributed in error a few months ago…..

Has anyone whose made a purchase got an email from Nisbets yet?

    • +2

      You do realise it's Sunday?

      • FYI I received an email from them, but I can't read what the order number and the total cost is. This is what they emailed me:

        Nisbets

Thank you for your order - AU10724204

        Mr ….

Thank you for your order. Your order number is #genHtmlLinkStartTag($ctx.order.orderInfoUrl)#genHtmlBoldFont(${ctx.order.uniqueSerialNumber})#genHtmlLinkEndTag() and the total cost was #genHtmlBoldFont(${ctx.order.totalPriceWithTax.formattedValue}). This email contains a complete summary of your order. Please retain this confirmation for your records.

        Date Order Placed : 13-06-2020

    • Not got mine yet. Luckily, I did take a screenshot of my order reference number. I find this really fishy, usually, these are supposed to be automated.

      • Yeah I also did take a few screenshots when purchasing.

  • +20

The sad thing is. They made a mistake. And a heap of people will 1 star them for not going broke honouring it.

    • +13

The sadder thing is obviously its a business that doesnt operate over a weekend so a small team/business, and this is going to waste an enormous amount of their time and resources to fix, judging from the deal not being taken down already and the more orders going through the harder it is for them to reverse in short time… Im all for a bargain but this is just plain taking advantage of an unfortunate mistake…

Im in a retail company and mistakes/pricing errors take an enormous amount of time to correct… And we have a customer service team… Really hope these guys do too, its going to be a horrible monday for them :(

      • +7

wish we had more users like you here…these price errors bring out the worst in our community

        • +3

I honestly hope they have a decent size team… I get to sit near our customer service team… During covid they had to stop answering phones just to get through 1500 emails when all of our teams were being stood down… And that was just legitimate order enquiries this is going to hurt their business in some way or form…

Fingers crossed some of the reversal process is automated or can be automated… But knowing small to medium businesses its not always the case and theres a good portion or manual processing…

      • Someone mentioned above they're the Bunnings of catering equipment

        • +2

Even large companies will be in danger of failing due to the effects of Covid-19. Why use perceived size to justify causing unnecessary angst?

          • @miztadave: Exactly… Wish i was as concise as you in my reply.. loll

        • Ok… Point still stands, i feel for the employees who have to clean up the mess and that is assuming the business is back at pre covid days or werent affected and i garauntee you guys that a company providing equipment to one of the worst hit areas (hospitality) would have been affected.. I lost 3 employees in my team (IT) and its not a good time at the moment in retail businesses.

At the very least i hope all you who are talking advantage can be patient when they try to fix the mistake.

  • +1

thanks op- ordered six for each day of the week i intend to cook… left a day of the week for ozb ubereats coupons

  • -3

How can THIS cost more than $100, not to mention $4000? It does have price error, the "List Pirce" error, not the current price.

    • +4

Because its a commercial grade machine which is designed for durability, the motors, parts all pieces are designed to cope with higher usage rates.

      • And the moror + razor + plastic case, this durability costs more than a high-level macbook?

        • +2

MacBook - Word processor (tapity type)
Robot Coupe - Food processor (yum yum)

          Easy mistake to make.

      • Na, robot coupe lids break pretty easily.

  • It's Broden time.

  • 20000+ clicks. I'm sure I will use one day if it comes.

    • +15

Unfortunately a non-caring, selfish attitude seem to pervade a portion (hopefully minority) of the OzBargain community…

    • +2

I would be vicariously happy for those Ozbargainers that do get this deal but this seems unnecessarily cruel and vindictive.

  • +4

Feel like OP should’ve just stayed quiet in case they honoured his as a one off. I’ve ordered but not too hopeful.

    • But OP got 250+ up votes. That counts for something! That's at least a free T shirt during the Ozbargain day.

      • +2

Hopefully no reward for price errors

  • +1

I ordered one as well to see what happens.
They'll be very busy tomorrow morning!

    • +1

Do you make a habit of getting your jollies by being a nuisance?

  • -1

LOL at the people who say "i got one". You don't "get one" until it's actually given to you.

Or maybe they mean "i got an order". Just making an order doesn't mean that you're going to receive it.

    • …mate, some are already listing them for sale on gumtree!

      • +3

Oh really. There's fools every where. They couldn't seriously think that this is going to be honoured.

      • The commercial businesses genuinely requiring one of these is not looking on Gumtree. They need a tax invoice in their name for the input tax credit, asset depreciation and warranty.

  • Pulled the trigger bought one via PayPal and another via Bank transfer.

    1. Goods being Sold

2.1 Descriptions and specifications for the Goods are set out on the Nisbets website at the time of the Order or the Nisbets catalogue from which the Order is placed provided the catalogue is current at the time of the Order.

2.2 If any Goods are unavailable or out of stock then Nisbets may cancel the Order in whole or in part and refund any monies paid, issue a credit note or otherwise vary the Order with the Customer's approval.

Forget it folks! Smell a RAT!

  • Probably a nice way to get personal details of a target audience to market future catalogs and sales to.

    • +2

Not sure if its beneficial for them as 99% of audience is wrong target. Majority of ozzbargainers dont know even what it does just discount triggered the order 🤣🤣

  • +1

    Bought 4399. Thanks OP.
