[eBay Plus] Apple AirPods (2nd Gen) with Charging Case $99 Delivered @ Titan Gear eBay

23853
PMRL84

Looks like a second round for the Airpods. Starting at 10am 5pm on 17 June.

Most likely three drops again - 10am, 2pm, 6pm.

The same promo code was used twice for the Airpods Pro for $249 deal. Most likely the same code from the 1/6 will be used for this deal.

For those after TLOU2 tomorrow at 10am, I'm guessing that it will be this item.

Mod Update 16/06: Appears to be only a single 5pm Drop for the Apple Airpods - 900 units available according to banner from email

… transaction was in my purchase history and marked paid (took a screenshot). Now it has disappeared completely from the purchase history - no email, not in cancelled orders. What the hell!

    • +1

Scroll down further to "Returns and cancelled orders" section.
Take a screenshot of that too, I think we might have a case that we can bring the ACCC in.

    • no luck mate, if you didn't get any emails it wasn't successful.

      pay with paypal next time.

      • … I did pay with paypal.

      • I paid with Paypal, had the full amount in cash in my Paypal balance. Still got the "returns and cancelled orders" bullshit of "payment not successful".

  • +9

I had the same situation other people had. Showed the order was placed successful. The payment is pending. The order is displayed in the order history. Then few mins later, everything has been removed. I suspected the activities or promotion had been organized and manipulate by the company and also coordinated by eBay as the history of order info has been completed removed from eBay.
How shame it is. We should come together and vote down the company and make the formal complaint on eBay.

    • +2

I agree with Steven006….Ebay is making a fool of us…

    • +2

Strong agree. But how we could make the formal complaint on eBay?

      • I am not sure about that. But at least we all need to keep any evidence like the screenshot which shows the order is placed successfully as a starting point.

        • You are right, we have to keep all of the evidence.

      • +2

I think we might have a case that we can bring the ACCC in.

        • +1

Totally agree with you, I have my order number which I believe was generated by eBay on the screenshot. If I ask eBay where the order info has gone, eBay responses with that nothing can be found in their system which would indicate eBay and the company had coordinated each other to make this occurred.

We have a similar item that you can try to purchase here using PMON20 code. You might want to check it out, here's a link of the item : https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/324030653907?nordt=true

      • Go the next level level hold a protest at parliament and get the politicians involved. All over a $99 item. Lol

  • I missed out. It’s like a competition. Hopefully I score $400 watch next ebay plus promo, I use a wired iem with dragonfly thing nobody with an android phone would be interested in a sheep watch, and I can finally score something :(

  • +1

I managed to get one (I think). It's still in my purchase history and payment has been taken out of my credit card…… but no email yet.

    • +1

      Same here

    • +1

You should get it, as long as it is saying 'PAID' in the purchase history.

      • +2

mine said paid until about 5:15 & then it disappeared from my purchase history :/ pretty disappointing.

        • Sorry to hear that. How did you pay and was it charged to your PayPal/Credit Card account?

        • That sucks!! Sorry to hear that.

    THIS IS WHAT SUPPORT SAID:

    Christian Alfe

I am almost done here Please bear with me

    Christian Alfe
    17:39 PM
Thanks for waiting. I have checked the details here. I'm sorry to let you know that it was such a good deal that thousands of members went to check out for this and here are only 900 units released. Orders can be accepted and our system processes payment in choronological order manner. Which means that if your order is beyond the released 900 units, it is normal that the order would not go through.

    • i got this bs too

      • yeah same

        • Alfie is talking to me too. They must be tired of replying the same answer

    • Also received the same generic message too:

just checked it here and your order was unseuccesful because the item was already out of stock by the time that the system was processing your payment. Orders related to these deals are chronologically processed

thousands of aussies were eyeing on this drop but please dont worry Richard because if you may have missed on this drop, there will still be similar or better drops possibly for the same item

      • LMAO. MINE WAS:

        Christian Alfe
        17:40 PM
But don't worry as we still have some other great deals avaialble in site, so don't miss out. there are more coming since June is eBay Plus Month. I am sure you will be able to make use of your premium benefits

        • BS all the same, I questioned them why when it only had 100 units, there was never such problem!

      • +1

now they are telling me that i dont have fast internet

  • I'm really sorry for the confusion. Please be assured that the problem has nothing to do with your payment method. Rather, it has something do with the deal running out of stock. There were only 300 units and it went out of stock right away. I understand your point. Our data shows that there were only seconds interval between each successful purchase. By the time, you were at the checkout page, it's possible that the deal is still in stock. But by the time your payment was already being processed, it already went out of stock. So, instead of letting your payment go through, it went to payment being processed and suddenly went to cancelled.

    • +4

Why do they say only 300 units? Isn't there supposed to be 900?

      • 300 seems to be a typo.. they are copy / pasting the same reply to all on ebay chat

    • +1

Didn't they advertise that 900 units are available? https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/44499/80585/airpods.pn…

      • +1

        freudian slip?

advertise 900, but cancel 600 of the 900… Purchase History only shows the last 100 items.

    • +1

How can you say those reasons which treat us like idiots? Also more seriously, why did your guys removed all order records from my order history page which means you can manipulate any data you want. On this point, I am not sure whether you had this kind of privilege to change my order history or eBay helped you to do that. The kind of activities is more seriously than what it is. That is main reason I would consider I want to vote down the company and raise a formal complaint on eBay.

  • +1

Did anyone actually purchase it at 5:05pm? Or is this due to delays with payment processing?

    • +2

      Delays

    • +5

Historically 5 past the start time has been when reserved stock that didn’t complete checkout is released back into the available stock pool. Normally when ebays systems don’t mess up this is a couple of units at most. This time with it being over 100 it’s bullshit as clearly barely any of the initial orders processed successfully. The amazing thing is it seems that if you bothered to check the page between 5:05 and 5:06 you probably would have got one easily as everyone thought they were successful at 5:00.

      • +1

correct, this is the real tip here. People managed to get it as late as 17-Jun-20 17:08:37 AEST lol.

Just check 5 mins after… don't give up.

        • +3

Doesn’t help if you already bought sucessfully at 5pm. How would you assume it went back in stock? Even if this did happen it was limited to one per customer so you have used your promo code already.

    • Well I asked eBay Live Chat about it, here's their response:

the time shown in the sold records is the time when our system has finalised the order but it doesnt mean that hte order was placed on that exact time

  • Like many others:
I had payment pending despite using paypal.
Now it's disappeared from my account completely.

I tried placing another order (trying to jump on the delayed orders bandwagon) but then it said "I already applied this promotion".

Neg due to significant problem with retailer.

  • +2

Customer Support: "I recommend to try checking PayPal as to why the payment did not go through"

"I actually review it here too and found out it was nothing to do with your payment method"

"Our data shows that there were only seconds interval between each successful purchase. By the time, you were at the checkout page, it's possible that the deal is still in stock. But by the time your payment was already being processed, it already went out of stock. So, instead of letting your payment go through, it went to payment being processed and suddenly went to cancelled."

  • +2

Finally thought i had struck gold! checked out as quick as i could… still have order details page opened which shows my order number, but they do not appear in my purchases :( guess it's a waste of my time to speak to ebay customer service :/

I think they need to change these deals so that stock randomly drops through out the day

    • Your order details page don't show something like

Estimated delivery Monday 22 Jun 2020

      ?

    • Did you check "Show hidden items" in purchase history?

      • Now its coming up in cancelled orders:

"Your payment didn't go through, so the order was cancelled. Please pay for this item again."

and then on my new order details page:

"This order was not successful. Order cost has not been included in the total amount."

        What a joke!

        • Yeah, it's BS.
They first say "Thanks! Your order was placed" with estimated delivery.
But they then cancel afterwards because it didn't process on their side.

  • +1

getting them to refund the plus fee!

    • not gonna happen sorry mate

      • +2

        Well, they are refunding it.

        • I'm still waiting after a month

          • @Sainter4Life: yeah they are saying it will take upto 30 days for the refund to come through

            • @IMadeYouReadThis: Chase them. I had to chase three times after they said it had been refunded. Gave up in the end and settled for the $30 voucher

          • @Sainter4Life: Because i use $20 voucher and $5 voucher and purchase something else from ebay plus seller when i was on ebay trial, they said they can only refund $48.99 - $20 - $5 and whatever cost the postage for that other item… the purchase all made during trial.. none when i actually pay the ebay plus fee for. Is that even make sense?

And that is from the supervisor…

Omg ebay.. come on someone should know how to make a formal complaint with all this ebay (profanity)

  • +7

This order was not successful. Order cost has not been included in the total amount.

    Who's up for a class-action lawsuit? Surely bait-and-switch

Excuses about stock levels and payment processing… like seriously no excuse to get your order-to-cash process right

    • +1

      Please do organise that

    • i have screen shot of my order been processed and order number given and order cancelled right after few minutes with same bs they are giving everyone

  • +8

Ozbargain should stop posting this sh*t and stop wasting Ozb community Time.! Ebay is playing their dirty game to attract to sign up for their membership.!

  • So Arnel thinks their system of processing payments with a bank or PayPal depends on my internet speed. Didn't realise their internet speed was dependent on mine. They should really get a new plan.

  • "900 Units"

  • Woah I was just reading the comments as I missed it by an hour (set wrong timer on phone) … then I refreshed and they had 7 in stock, I just got so lucky! Try refreshing if you missed out

    • +1

ya i saw that too and got one.

      • I wonder if the orders which were not processed earlier are appearing back in stock?

    • Welp then Live Chat lied when I asked about it:

the time shown in the sold records is the time when our system has finalised the order but it doesnt mean that hte order was placed on that exact time

  • Mine order got cancelled intiialy. but they came back in stock again and i just purchased again and payment went through.
they are comming in stock again and disappearing.

  • +2

oof they sold 9 at around 6pm

    • Nah just delayed payment

        • +1

yeah I saw that too. And I refreshed the item page and saw it was available to order at about 6:30pm. (only lasted for 6 seconds)
          Now, all gone.
Anyway I got mine this time too. My order seems to be went through at 5:00pm but error on the next page (there was an error something something).
but after few minutes it appeared on my purchase history and $99 charged to my account. Lucky again.

          • @Dalgona456: Hey! I had the same experience. But the invoice wasn’t issued by titan yet. Does it mean the order might disappear from the order history like some people here?

            • @ragulmrnr: Me too. Invoice usually being sent out within few minutes but not yet arrived. They might having some issue?

              My order is still alive.

    • the extra salt onto the people they initially cancelled and then available an hour later… lol

  • +2

This is a joke. How can ebay pass on their mismanagement to customers.

    • +1

It's a marketing strategy. It's your choice to use their service.

  • +1

I've gotten the same response as above but also got told that they are confident that a similar deal will happen next week.

    • That would be the AirPods Pro deal I believe

    • +4

So we could relive the same experience again?

      • Airpods pro is a hot deal. I guess it'll be sold out in 20 seconds.

  • +7

Neg a deal for first time!

  • that was annoying, was happy to renew my ebay plus, so paid the fee using new cc details.

and guess what, at 5pm, was just about to pay it, it tried to use the old cc, which was too late to change it anyway.

  • +4

Customer Service: "Given that it's a deal, has to successfully paid and ordered within the promo. It's just that it's like a competition as other buyers are also waiting for it."

eBay literally just admitted that it's a competition.

Then they when on to say "It's like we can think of they're using supercomputer with the fastest internet" which I don't really know how to interpret.

    • +3

Not really smart support, just making stuff up.
How is your internet affecting the processing once the order is placed. It's between ebay and the payment processing ..

      • Exactly what I just told eBay.

    • Of course it’s a competition 900 units and 900,000 paying customers, what did you expect .

  • +6

Looks like another 9 were made available at 6pm, but the total sold is still showing 2600, so 9 previously successful orders must have been cancelled…

    • +1

rip those people who got cancelled..

  • +4

    Reward paid membership!

These deals should only be available to full ebay plus members who have passed the trial period, rewarding those who have actually paid the fee. I don't see how it's advantageous to eBay at all to have people sign up to a free ebayPlus trial just to make 1 or 2 "competition" purchases and then let it lapse, only to rinse and repeat…just enables grifters.

    • +1

Probably trying to beef up their 'ebay plus' members before EOFY cause it's a disaster

    • +4

they're banking on people who forget to cancel their trial subscription
that's the eBay business model for ya :D

      • True, but I reckon that would be a real minority, the brodens won't forget to cancel.

  • I also had my order cancelled despite placing the order at 5pm. eBay live chat is as unhelpful as everyone else has encountered:
"Karl: I understand and will have this forwarded to our management, but don't worry as we still have some other great deals available in the site, so don't miss out. There are more coming since June is eBay plus month. I'm sure you'll be able to make use of your premium membership."

  • +1

I'm looking forward to seeing eBay plus at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival next year because they're an absolute joke.

  • Merged from eBay Deal Completed Order Disappearing?

Have you guys had ebay orders that a re complete disappear from your purchase history for the ebay deals?

The airpod my purchased completed and checked out but then disappeared after a few minutes.

  • +3

so after speaking over the chat for over 30 mins. they gets me disconnected even tho proving them wrong that my order went through and now its to them to honour it.

    • +1

      Same here.

Also told me only 300 were available lol

  • I got screenshot of the completed order in My Ebay. So I'm sending that to them.

    • Same here

  • +3

Seriously Ebay can't even get anything right.
Their banner now shows they've sold 900 Units of Airpods PRO…
