      Not really exchange rates but COVID-19 WFH shoppers that killed the prices. At its peak they were $700+

      They aren't magical fixes. But if used correctly they are pretty good. I have tested both the UDM and UDM Pro.

      I don't think your understand what this device is….. It is not just a mesh router… it contains several devices in one that would cost a lot more if brought by themselves.

      Even if you change the NanoHD to a AC Pro that might save you $100… however the AC Pro is 3x3 MIMO where as the UDM AP is 4x4 MIMO hence why I referenced the NanoHD.

      Plus you could purchase any of Ubiquiti's other AP's and use the mesh function to expand the network via Mesh.

      So basically a $500 device to replace close to $1,000 worth of gear.

        USGs are overrated and shouldn't cost that much. You can also run your own cloud controller on something far cheaper like a raspberry pi.

        The real discount is something like $50-$100 when you have a special like this.

          I'm not saying they aren't. But the fact remains that the UDM has one inside it so it is worth noting that.

          And yes you can run the cloud controller on a Raspberry Pi.. but again that is another piece of equipment someone needs to setup and run. For most people the 1 box ease of use is worth the cost.
