So just deposit USD 200 and do nothing will qualify? Nope.

both you and your friend have opened and closed at least one trade (using real
    money), over the eToro platform.

Hmm pretty easy just open and close again in the next 5 second to minimise loss.

    • how many stocks per trade

    • Thanks.

      This is very crucial info.

  • We will credit the referred friend's real account with an extra US$50 for his/her first and single
deposit of at least the minimum deposit amount applicable to your friend’s country as described
below. We will credit the referring friend’s funded real account with US$50 whenever the above
minimum qualifying terms have been met. The rewards to the referring friend and the referred
friend shall be defined herein as “Rewards''. In conjunction with the above, clients from
Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates will be credited with a
reward of USD$100 each, for the referring and the referred friend, subject to the terms as
    described herein.

So $50 each or $100 each?

    • Following Paragraph from T&Cs:

For clients residing in Australia the referred friend will be required to deposit a minimum of USD$200 in a single transaction for both parties to be credited with a reward of USD$100 each.

Disclosure: Referrer and Referee both receive US$100.

Full Disclosure: That's your referral code in the description of the deal so YOU receive US$100

    • Removed OP Referral Code from Deal Post.

      • Hi RichardL

If following the posting guidelines strictly this deal should be unpublished due to the existence of this expired deal

Can I post a deal for the Referral offer itself?

If the retailer offers a referral program, you may post it as a deal (e.g. signup to ABC site via referral code and earn $10 credit) if all of the following conditions are met:
        * The referee also earns credit.
        * The current offer has NOT been posted as a deal previously.
        * It's a limited time referral offer or it's a new addition to the OzBargain referral system (added less than 7 days ago).

However personally i'm in favour of it remaining as a valid deal for these reasons:
        1. The referral offer has increased since last deal post making it more enticing
        2. The previous deal was expired and it is common practice posting new deals rather than reviving old expired deals
        3. A deal for this referral program hasn't been posted in a considerable time (first i've heard of it and it is decent)

Do you think we could look at revising the posting guidelines text to keep this deal active, or should it be unpublished in line with the guidelines?

        • Hi,

Technically the current offer hasn't been posted as a deal previously.

The previously deal was for US $50 Referral Bonus after US $100 was deposited by the referee.

This offer is for US $100 Referral Bonus after US $200 is deposited by the referee.

          Thanks,
          Richard

          • @RichardL: totes agree with that! the referral wiki contradicts in that case though?

Examples: (1) Airbnb update their refer a friend credit from $32 to $34. As this is a long running referral only deal, updates to the referral program should not be posted as a deal.

up to you but imo the wording on these pages could be tightened up a bit, would help prevent confusion/invalid negs/reports on valid referral deals. i really tried to get my head around the wording and ultimately it was ambiguous - it would have turned me off submitting a new deal for sure though

            • @yupyup: Due to the lack of end date on the Referral by eToro, it hard to determine if it a long running deal or limited time offer.

At this point of time, we'll assume that it's a limited time offer due to:

              • The T&Cs being updated recently (Last Update on June 30th, 2020)
              • Bonus isn't available to all countries
              • T&Cs mentioning 'extra US$50'
  • where do i enter the code ?

    • You can sign up using our Referral System Located at the Bottom of the Deal Post (In the Grey Box).

  • Any reviews?

      • Thanks - some very, very bad reviews

      • Most complain seems about withdrawing entire money after opening an account.

Looks like their only joining for the promo and gets upset when they couldnt take it out everything quickly.

They didnt read the terms and condition, inquire further before jumping in then got burned and complain.

  • Anyone successfully withdrawn the bonus and initial deposit (+/- any trade Profit/Loss)?

  • Need to deposit I ng credit card? Andnwithdrawal also goes back to a credit card and not to a bank account?

    • yeah i noticed that no option for bank, just card or paypal. i'm going to use a intl transaction fee free card.

also i signed up just then but it hasn't given me any clear confirmation that the referral click-through registered with them… my advice is to save a copy of the referral URL you end up using and the username of the person who referred you, in case you need to contact etoro support later.

      • I believe you need to make a trade to qualify.

What international transaction fee free card are you using?

        Transferwise? Citibank?

        • Check what the withdrawal fee is that etoro charge.

          • @BargainBenno: Yes, there's also a withdrawal fee.
Everyone needs to be aware, inquire and read conditions before deciding to join just for the promo.

      • What internaional fee transaction card you use?

  • Got the bonus, but only $50. :-(

Have to get in touch with their support team now.

    • I think it's related to whether your referrer has closed/opened a trade. You get 50USD if they've deposited the 200aud; you get 50USD if they've opened/closed a trade.

Will test theory when US markets open

      • Hmmm …

I think the $50 vs $100 is just based on country of residence, with $100 for Aussies & Gulf Countries, and $50 to other countries. The trading requirement applies to everyone, irrespective of their country of residence.

Also, my referral link specifically says: "Join XXXXX on eToro and get $100 cash to start trading!".

        • Yeah only got the 50USD. Even after both accounts had open/closed trades. :(

    • +1

      UPDATE:

A Customer Service rep replied to me & said that they've added the remaining $50 to my account for processing pending approval & I should get it within 3-8 days.

      Woohoo!!

  • I used one of the random referrer here, but couldn’t remember which one. I got only $50 so I raised a ticket. CS asked me the username of my referrer which I don’t know how to find. If one of u got my referral (same username as my ozb) and read this, do u mind to pm me? :)

    • Isn't it $50 for joining, and then another $50 once you have made an $50 investment?

Have you made a $50 investment?

      • It just says investment I think? Where did you read about $50 investment, I'm just wondering because I opened an account but waiting for markets to open first.
        Thanks

        • You should get the full referral amount upon joining.

I only got $50 initially and had to chase them up for the other $50.

  • What sort of trades has everyone done?

  • I think the sign up link is broken, can anyone confirm?

I click on the referral link, it takes me to Etoro website with the $100 offer, click join now and it just shows a blank white page….

  • Ok so I managed to sign up, apparently you need to do it via a mobile phone as it didn't load in Chrome or Edge on my desktop.

Also there are 10 questions you need to answer before you can trade, and you only have 3 chances to get them right (you need to get 10/10 and if you get 1 wrong you need to redo the test). I probably wouldn't have signed up if I had known all of this. The signup process is a pain and takes a while.

  • So just to confirm, you need to do a trade of US$50 before you get your $100 bonus?

I placed a $50 order for Apple Shares, which should be executed when the markets open… once that happens I should get the bonus yeah?

    • Hi There, I made a deposit of $200USD, placed a trade and then had the $100USD in the account

  • How long does it take to get the referral bonus added to your account?

  • Hi There, mine was the moment I made my first trade having deposited of $200USD

    • Thanks. Took me around 8 hours to get it. Only $50USD though, have sent a ticket asking about the $100.

      • Yep they emailed me a week later and added the $50 that was missing.

  • Someone use Transferwise to fund eToro?
    Transferwise has better rate.
    what are fees involve?

  • +1

I didn't have to make any trades and get the USD$100 - just used my Citibank Plus Account to fund it was a pretty good rate when the aussie hit 70 cents USD.

    • What other fees you need to pay?

      • I used my Citibank Signature Card to transfer funds (in AUD) and the conversion takes place on eToro. The rate fluctuates.
There's the USD$5 when withdrawing funds.

        • I need to input the the transaction bank acount debit card details in eToro under Deposit Funds"— the conversion rate will show up and thats all ? No other charges or fees on the bank or in eToro?

Looks like aud-usd gettig better. Currently showing in etoro as 0.7397 from deposit page.

          • @atlinus: Doesn't look like there are any other bank charges when depositing money in.
My credit card statement does not have any fees (July statement).
My most recent transaction, the rate was 0.7323 (28-Aug).

            • @junkyster: No charges for putting in but $5 fee when withdrawing I think?

  • Trying to sell some shares but can’t seem to do it in the app. The shares are worth about $60

Is there a minimum $$$ you need to hold in the shares before you sell?

    • Does it say Pending Close? That's just usually waiting for the market to open before it sell it off.

      • Looks like you don’t go to the ‘Sell’ option, but rather need to select ‘Close Position’

  • How come this deal is marked Expired if promo is seems to be going still: https://marketing.etorostatic.com/lp/raf/Terms/TermsRAF.pdf?

  • Has anyone sold their shares and requested to return their funds back to their original funding method? In my case it was Visa debit card, yet eToro returned the funds using PayPal. eToro also charge a currency conversion fee in addition to the $5 withdrawal fee, for going from USD to AUD. I’m not sure if there is a PayPal fee on top of that for receiving the funds via that method?

    • I've closed them but as PayPal required extra step for verification, I had it transferred into my CBA account.
Whole process took about 2 days.
USD$5 charged for withdrawal and exchange rate based on eToro ($0.738 Thursday).

    • It seems to be random, I tried a couple of times by choosing Paypal. First time, it went back to my original debit card, no drama. Second time, it went to my Paypal :(. My Paypal can accept USD though, so it didn't really cause me big conversion loss (as I can withdraw it to my TransferWise USD account before transferring to my normal AUD bank account). Yeah, I know it's a long loop, but Paypal conversion is just horrendous, even worse than etoro so had to do that way.

Kindly remove your referral code if you already maxed out 10 referrals.

  • theres invalid referrals. can someone that hasnt done 10 and has a valid referral pm me please so then i can supply it if theres any issues?

  • +1

thanks all, ill end up using godking114 referral

  • To activate etoro and able to do first deposit, you need to pass the ASIC questions.
This youtube provide the answer: https://youtu.be/szbirC8zuXs

    • thanks it was hard but i already passed it. i didnt watch video i got some answers from https://www.reddit.com/r/Etoro/comments/hk09wh/help_with_que… and googled some and guessed the rest lol
did anyone have to enter their TFN during sign up? i seen the field but it disappeared so quickly so now i dont know how to add it?

      • On the left hand side if you scroll down to the bottom and click on "Settings", then click on "Account", it has a field Tax ID. Click on it and you should be able to add it there.

  • thanks godking114, i managed to add my tfn. For Proof of ID and proof of address it says ""not required"". is this normal? i guess when i entered my passport number it must of done a credit check or just identified me online with the passport number i entered during sign up?. tried to deposit $205 usd using diners club but it got declined so i used bundll card and it worked lol. got charged $282.06 aud i guess someone took $2 as their cut for the margin. I've 'now added my referral code to the oz bargain pool hope it all goes well and i get my $100 bonus soon. anyone recommend any US stocks to buy or am i best to use the copy another trader feature or withdraw it all once bonus is deposited into my aud bank account?

    • There will be usd$5 + differences in conversion again when withdrawing.

Best to hold it for a while before withdrawing all out. Have a look at the Copy feature if that suits you.

My proof of ID and proof of address is not required as well.

      • As long as you provide passport details.

  • Myself and partner both made trades and they deposited 200 usd but still have not recieved the bonus, how long did it take everyone to show up? We made the trades with BTC if that makes a difference

    • Did you use a referral link when you join?
Atleast you get $50 straight away after deposit and the other $50 after 7 working days when you complete the trade.

      • i did not even get first $50, wonder why

        • Maybe you didn't use the referral link when you join.

        • +1

Email eToro customer support - they can tell if you have signed up using a referral link or not.
In my experience, the bonus turns up within a few hours of completing the deposit (even without making a trade).

          • @junkyster: $50 sraight awya.
for some reason they told me the other$50 is 7 business days but in my case it goes over so i have to follow up
chekky… if you dont ask as some people i know thought it is only $50 never tried to ask until i tell them to chase eToro.

  • i got my $100 right away after depositing $200. i have traded since a small amount but now they put account on hold as they are still reviewing my id and all docs requested that i uploaded.

    • inconsistent on how they provide referral bonus

didnt ask for docs in my end.
I think i read something it is not required.
      Password details was enough

  • Ok! I deposited $200 early this morning & completed my first trade about 40mins ago AUD/USD for $50 sold it 4 minutes later for a 17c profit & just received the $100 credit :)
Now for the fun part trying to withdraw it!
Anyone else had problems? Should I wait a while or just request a withdrawal right away? Thanks

    • +1

      Update.
Openedc the account Monday morning with initial transfer of $285.50 & today just recieved $408.59 in my account! Withdrawal request was 11am Monday! So way quicker than I expected $123 profit! I think if you use a better exchange rate that using your card you'll do better

  • 100 bucks came for me as soon as I deposited money and put an order. This order was in the market as market was not yet open. So this order can be cancelled and u have 100 bucks. Pretty neat.

  • Does anyone know if I link the account to my PayPal account which is linked to a debit card, will I get charged for a currency conversion fee on my debit card bank account?

    • +1

I didn't use PayPal but I think it will be converted using eToro rates (not the greatest) first and then transfer to you in AUD.

I withdrew via bank transfer and eToro transfered via NAB.

      • Right, so the currency conversion fee is done by eToro rather than the bank.

Just confirming, do u know if I can link the account directly to a debit card, rather than the extra step of linking with a PayPal account?

        • +1

Yes I used my HSBC debit card no problems & tax file number! When you withdraw you are asked to provide another payment method incase they can't pay it back into your original payment method. PayPal/bank transfer & there were other options I'm not familiar with.

  • Opened an account late yesterday, placed a trade and got the $100 referral bonus today in less than 24 hours! Didn’t expected it to be this quick!

    Nice and simple. Thanks OP.

  • I signed up using a random referral link, and then made a deposit of $300 (so > USD200) and traded $100 in BTC and closing it after. However, did not get any bonus, even the $50 one. Am I doing anything wrong? Live chat is also apparently not available in this region at the moment?

    • Sometimes referral links could be for accounts which has already been closed. For deals like this where they’re not much volume, always best to get referral from people who had commented. This is what I did.

I signed up for an account during US trading hours (around 1-2am in Oz), immediately placed 2 trades ($100 each) and I got the $100 referral around 11am Oz time. I didn’t sell my stocks, so still holding them.

Live chat could be following US hours? You could also raise a ticket on their website to send them an enquiry, saying something like you had mistyped the referral code etc. if they say your referral was invalid.

      • Thanks, I should have asked for referral from someone who commented, good point. Sounds like the $100 bonus is not instant for some of us while others may have got it instantly.. so all hope is not lost. I sent them an enquiry so fingers crossed!

    • Got a reply from eToro customer service, somehow live chat is not available to this region where I was checking once every couple of hours throughout the night.

The response was "Please be advised that the rewards will be credited to both the referring and referred friends' accounts seven (7) days after the qualifying terms have been met."

Did anyone have to wait that long? Seems like everyone else got the bonus instantly. It's been a day or two since I signed up but haven't got anything.

      • It can happen. eToro cheeky… There were times they only give you the $50 bonus when you join. some ignores it that they are entitled fro the $100 bonus (after meeting the requirements - deposit $200 usd and 1 trade) . When you chase them, they reply about the 7 days waiting period.

Mine went over 7 working days before they credit the remaining $50 after chasing them for days.

        • I didn't even get the first $50, either my referrer did not satisfy the requirements or eToro is just being cheeky like you said.

          • @firestint: I find their response a bit inconsistent the way they give the bonus from what i read and from comments in forums and community groups.

I would say if others are planning to join and get those bonus to PM the user or person they know so they can back up the claims when this issue happen.

I did this to someone who use my link and was not able to claim any. I help out and message eToro to backup and confirm that referral is legit that i this person. Provide basic info yada yada yada… to persuade etoro its legit and give out the joining bonus.

      • I'm in the same boat, I signed up on Tuesday and didn't get the signup/deposit bonus. Will just have to wait a week and see :(

  • I used a random referral from an account that didn't match the requirements so I missed the bonus even though I followed the steps, be careful

    • +1

Yes, make sure it is from Australian user who qualifies to make sure you get your bonus right.
Better PM or message the account holder to confirm and also if in case you want to chase eToro about the bonus, you can contact where you got your referral link from to back you up.

      • The random referral was from here, username doesn't match so I won't be able to message the account holder.

        • A question on this.. Where do we check the username when you clicked on the link to random referral?

          • @firestint: Not sure how. I don't think its possible for us users.
