KN95 5-Ply Face Masks 10 Pack (TGA Approved, Made In Vietnam) - $19 + $7.90 Delivery @ Zebra

7240

Hello OzBargain community.

Two days ago someone made a strange decision to post about our company on this website. It caused quite a shocking surprise to us this morning when we saw the amount of orders received! We are now working around the clock to fulfil those orders.

As a follow-up, we thought the OzBargain community would be interested to check out our newly arrived stock. This face mask is also TGA certified and Made In Vietnam, as we believe it is important to provide quality-assured PPE for our customers. Please be aware that the market is prevalent with counterfeit and uncertified masks made with subpar material, especially on Ebay.

The efficiency of KN95 is equivalent to N95 (USA standard) which contains 5 layers of filtration material (most others only have 4 layers). We have set our product at a very good price point considering its quality.

We hope we continue to be a favourite vendor amongst this community. Our prayers also go out to those in Victoria. Stay safe.

Thanks,

Tyler

I can tell that people typing comments about how overpriced it is etc and downvoting

Hi. These masks are design to be more effective than regular surgical masks, with a tighter seal and increased filtration. So it is more for those looking to be extra safe.

        • +26

These are filtration masks, not everyday masks. If you judge their price and use case against surgical masks you’re just creating a straw man argument.

For the price, for their use case, from a reputable seller and genuine product, these are a good deal.

            • +6

@jv: Erm…can you please explain where in the post the OP was 'implying' these are what most Victorians need? I see a description of why they think their product is better than others, followed by sending their best wishes to Victorians. I'm curious to see what your though process was to arrive at that (erroneous, IMHO) conclusion.

        • +4

Even if that's the case, there are doctors looking for decent prices KN95 / N95 masks for their use in their work.

          • @ozbking: Doctors should be using surgical respirators, not these non-fluid resistant KN95 or N95 masks. So these are good for regular people. Doctors and nurses need respirators that not only filter well, but also seal well around the face.

            • @Sleepycat3: It’s fine if you use a face shield with it

            • @Sleepycat3: Nope, specific DHHS guidelines saying not for respirators, but for N95 masks in high risk areas.

              • @ozbking: N95 is a respirator, it covers the filter material and the sealing around the face, just like P2 in Australia. KN95 is not necessarily a respirator as they use it to refer to the filter material alone.

Example is that you will not find a true N95/P2 respirator/mask that uses ear loops as it fails the sealing test. Compare that to KN95 which uses earloops.

                • -1

@Sleepycat3: thats not true australian made and certified P2 masks have earloops

if you plan, and shop once a week, then three bucks a week for a higher level of safety seems pretty smart.

some of us aren't cowboys, going to house parties, travelling to holiday houses on the coast, popping down the shops for a single item, visiting grandma.

          • -4

            @Antikythera:

if you plan, and shop once a week, then three bucks a week for a higher level of safety seems pretty smart.

not if it doesn't make a difference.

Better than $10 for a cloth mask with no certifications whatsoever. And I'm someone who is pretty suss about the KN95 standards actually being met by the ones manufacture by it.

If it is up to scratch they will last far longer than people assume … and actually offer some protections in the meantime.

    • -1

who said they are single use?

    • +2

You haven't once tried to buy a mask this entire pandemic, have you? You're a nube. For a pack of 10 masks, this is about as good as it gets.

Show us all a pack of 10 masks, that is not single use! We'd all like that. Show us what you think is a better deal. Or are you one of the dopes who doesn't understand the importance of wearing any type of face-covering?

          Professor troll?

    • Sure, go to the chemist to pay $8 for KN95 material flat mask, which is useless. At least this one has a cup shape to have a half-decent seal on your face.

    • +36

We need less selfish people, but what evs.

    • +14

Our masks are already quite a bargain (no pun intended) if you shop around. Especially as a lot of masks in this price range are ineffective. I would strongly advise against looking to purchase 'cheap' masks during a time like now.

yeah, chief med office in Melbourne did a great job indeed

@botchie: Well, to be fair, he's underestimated just how stupid people can be.

        • Ok, but what if you wish to buy some better masks for whatever reason. OzBargain is a site for bargains/deals and not a site for a debate about masks, effectiveness and their usage. Thanks ZebraIndustries for the deal

    • thanks Kevin

Can we pick up at the randwick location?

    • Would also be interested to know if pick up is possible from your office/warehouse.

      • So this question was one of the first comments, and op proceeds to not answer this question and comment on others which came later?

Seems dodgy trying to avoid pick up enquiries.

      bazinga!

  • +12

I have to say, even though the price is much higher than the ex-works price in China (KN95 is Chinese standard), the price is better than Bunnings and most retailing shops. Bunnings priced 5 pack for $19.

    • +4

The Bunnings KN95 is also a scam imo. I almost fell for it but took the time to read the box, couldn't find any cert for filtration (the box even says "Not for medical use"). You're just buying a pimped up version of a 3 ply mask with no added protection. You're better off just paying $1 a 3ply mask (which Bunnings also sells) than wasting your money on KN95.

      • +8

They priced it too high. Just trying to grab more money from our pocket though. But you misundertood the discription. KN95 is a standard. On non-oil particulate filtration efficiency, it's just 95% minimum, same as N95 and a little bit better than P2 94% and Korean KF94 which is also 94%. If you see a name KN95, it supposed to be 95% minimum.

And of course, the protection grade of N95/KN95/P2 is much better than 3 ply. You may find usually a 3 ply may mention BFE 95% or 99%. That refers to becteria filtration efficiency, not particulate. The particulate filtration capability of 3 ply is very poor, something like 30% I think. When you wear them, the difference of breathing resistance between 3 ply and a N95/KN95/P2 is big.

KN95, and even N95, are not medical. There are different standards for medical masks to apply.

    • +1

I work at Bunnings and can tell you were selling them at cost or below cost.

      • +3

I believe you and respect that, but this would mean Bunnings got ripped off. The ex-works price from a large and reputable Chinese KN95 factory is at 0.6-0.8AUD (might be cheaper if from a qualified but non famous factory). Even if it's shipped by air, the average freight is less than 15cents/piece. If by container, the freight is almost nothing.

        • Supply and demand I suppose.

Looks like a basic drop shipping operation created to take advantage of those going through this pandemic. I wonder if anyone can vouch for shipping times? The pandemic might be over before you even receive yours if at all.

ABN status: Active from 16 Apr 2020

Zebra is Australia's top supplier of industrial workwear and equipment. - Do you have any stats of figures to substantiate this claim? Must be doing so well to already be Australia's top supplier in only 3 months.

    From another Thread -

I didn’t write anywhere either for, or against the business. Users can make informed decisions themselves and either buy (when available before), or pass.

The actual address on store website is within a residential street as per google street view, part of a strip of shops.

Yellow pages has company listed as an “employment and recruitment agency“: https://www.yellowpages.com.au/nsw/randwick/zebra-industries…

Finally, address listed on store website is currently available for rent as per Realestate.com.au https://www.realestate.com.au/property/unit-2-119-belmore-rd…

A mobile phone number is listed on Yellow pages website and also lists a different website URL that has been disabled.

Above are the “facts“, hope we all (me included) don’t get burned…

As mentioned I got burned by a store selling masks a while back that I never received. I hope everyone receives the ones they paid for in this case.

20 pack or 50 pack? If not a 50 how much for a 50 pack?

        • Looks like they were just added in the oast few hours.

        • They updated the page to say 20 masks. Guess they couldnt be bothered to reply here.

They are not level 2 masks though based on their description.

          Seem like fakes.

@8azinga: Ok thanks and I wouldn't buy off people without enough respect to reply to me.

      • +3

How many warehouses do you run?
Because your T&C's on your site states your warehouse address is @ 35 Mangrove Lane, Taren Point NSW 2229

Hi ZebraIndustries Rep. I posted the information that SnakeDoc shared above based on the information on your website. It’s not something I found elsewhere; it’s all from the info listed at the “Contact Us” page.

The address on your website matches a real estate listing for an apartment for rent and not any shopfront. Yellow pages also lists the same address and your business as something else; not an experienced seller with years of experience in PPE sales.

I suggest you post here whenever the many orders from the previous 4ply Face mask deal have shipped to allow those skeptics (me included) to “eat” our masks and “shut me up”.

Until then I have to respectfully highlight that there are too many discrepancies to what you claim to offer and the facts of your website registration, company registration and location / phone number not being possible to be verified independently.

Another user further below seems to have attempted to contact you via phone call without success. I suggest you investigate why that is the case.

I will happily eat one of your masks when I receive them and remove my neg vote. I am positive few extra days will not break your business model with current demand increasing. I hope you can prove me/us skeptics wrong before posting additional “deals”.

        Roborock anyone?

        Regards
        Ahara

      • +1

Interestingly, the google map screen capture of your address as available on your "contact us" page, is in exactly the same location as "119-123 Belmore Rd, Randwick 2031" as shown in a cadastral map search available on NSW Land Registry Services (folio 1/103290).
Unless the map on your contact page is incorrect, what Snakedoc has posted above appears to be correct?

Note: there is a business operating from 119 Belmore Rd, Randwick (123home), which can be confirmed by a google street view search.
There is also an adjoining business (but appears to be in the same building) facing Short St (World Nails & Beauty).
Are one of these businesses your front office?
It might provide comfort to your customers if you could provide more details of your front office?

The description from the OP (not this OP) who posted the previous Zebra deal mentioned

My workplace has been bulk ordering from this supplier for the last few weeks

I’m leaning towards Zebra being legitimate. We’ll know for certain once those who made purchases from the previous deal start receiving (or not) their masks.

      • +11

The website has only been live for about 10 days. How is it possible for the OP of other thread to be bulk ordering from them for weeks?

Is the OP of other thread actually the rep and just made a new account?

        • I don’t know about the website being up for only 10 days. How’d you find that out?

OP from previous post is a long time member with plenty of comments and posts.

We can’t confirm or deny anything. That’s the point of my comment. We’ll wait and see.

    • +15

Could't agree more. Website also new, in fact wayback machine hasn't archived it once. Pretty shameful people taking advantage of other people's misery. At least we can be confident masks from bunnings has the expected quality standard even at slightly higher price.

"ZebraIndustries Member Since 3 hours 25 min ago" (from this post) says it all. hahaha

I want concrete proof these are 'made in Vietnam'.

If that becomes a new selling point for everyone of these companies to circle the wagons on, I start to wonder where capitalism ends and liberty begins.

    • +27

Even if this company is legit (which I highly doubt), negging for making unfounded claims such as "Zebra is Australia's top supplier of industrial workwear and equipment" on the top of the site.

U carry yourself well op , ill give you that

  • These are disposable masks right?

    • Yes, it's listed as such on the TGA summary;

      Mask, surgical, single use

      Intended Purpose
This product is disposable medical face mask four layers with elastic ear loop individually pack.

  • strange decision to post about our company on this website

I know the post, it was very well received here.. I have no idea why you think it's "strange" though? Genuinely curious as to why you'd question getting so much business from another member posting a deal here…

The TGA approval for this mask and their other surgical masks lists the sponsor as:

anyone who needs an n95 mask would know an earloop mask would never ever pass a fit test

  • +13

    When bought from this business.

    While this offer existed [www.ozbargain.com.au/node/555542]
    - then received confirmation of order.

But have since attempted to email and telephone about order without success.

As no one can be contacted.

As normally would receive a response or supplier is at least contactable.

Have attempted the telephone number on website, including mobile number, and email.

Should one be worried? Masks needed for this pandemic urgently

Would like to know when will receive?

    • +7

Very suspicious that there is no response to this. Was going to buy some but now changed mind. Rather pay more elsewhere for me.

      • +2

User just created account to make a claim against OP. Fine. But you my friend, take this complain with grain of salt.

  • Pro choice face mask have increased in price! They were $3.70 a mask now $5. I was looking at ordering but was worried about this being a legitimate shop.

    • I wouldn’t waste money if I were you until it’s verified. Almost jacking up the price out of fear mongering then running away with no fulfilment of goods. Company rep has gone eerily silent

      • I just found WilliamKline group on eBay selling similar KN95 mask. 10 pack 34.95 but take 15% off with p15save.

  • +5

…we should just ban mask deals on the site….nothing is being moderated or vetted and every deal has to be investigated by members…very frustrating situation

    • -3

Maybe the deal is still up because there is no conclusive evidence to suggest that this is or isn’t legitimate? OPs will always get the benefit of the doubt. That’s how it works.

      • +4

it just seems like everyday theres multiple new users posting deals exclusively for face masks and a fair portion of them are either dubious quality or highly inflated prices from sellers who have very limited experience in selling PPE. why isnt there a vetting process that face mask deals have to follow? or could mods approve deals for masks prior to them being posted?…it would avoid a lot of this angst everytime a mask deal is published…

  • Wouldn't a reusable mask with filters work just as well?

    • Yes it would work just as well as long as the mask and filters are rated at or above KN95 standard.

    • +1

It would be better and cheaper, just make sure you handle it correctly and wear it correctly.

    • +6

Yes. They did work in Metro 2033, so they must work in an equally dangerous place like Melbourne for example.

  • +6

are you able to supply the TGA cert and when was it accredited?

    • i guess that's a no as the OP has not replied to this comment despite being active in other threads. it's worthwhile noting the TGA process is much more stringent now P2/N95 masks needs to be quality/fit tested and as such a lot of the previously certified products will lose their certification shortly and hence there is a lot of poor quality masks that will become worthless shortly

  • Will you be restocking the 4-PLY FACE MASKS TGA APPROVED anytime soon. Thanks

  • +3

It takes 20-30 minutes to add Paypal to your shopify website - why exactly don't you do it for our peace of mind?

    • +6

Even without PayPal you can always do a chargeback on both Credit AND Debit cards.

However it’s a pain and takes time.

      • You can only do a charge back on a debit card if the transaction is processed as a credit transaction.
