I think there are so many games now that overplay their hand on the first run through that the amount we replay and replay will dwindle.
Like Ghost of Tsushima was an great 25+ hour game, but could have been a mind blowing 10 hour game. They burn you out on their mechanics before time is up.
I'm just glad Nintendo and Sony are still banging out excellent single player games. Couldn't hate anything more than 'games as a service'.

Does anyone know where I could buy the Mario Game & Watch at RRP without paying crazy $$$ to the scalpers on eBay and Scumtree? Badly wanted one due the Nostalgia factor alone but missed out. Yes I know I can use emulators, etc. and I'm aware even at $80 it is a ripoff but I just want the real thing!

Yes it's unbelievable, the same nes snes classic saga all over again. I've checked all usual outlets but sold out everywhere. I'm hoping they would have more production runs or the shops including Target and BigW would have physical stock on launch day. This being Nintendo I would not be surprised if we'd have plenty of stock to buy over the counter on and after launch.

What do you mean? They did heaps of runs on that thing. It was limited to the demand in the end.

These games are absolute classics imo.
Someone ported Mario 64 to the 3DS so I've been playing that lately, and feels every bit as fun as it used to, instead of just playing for 10 minutes and getting bored.
Nintendo already ported Mario 64 to the DS lol
And it's a bit crap since you have to use the dpad
@Circly: I think it lost an awful lot by having only 8 points of movement vs the analog of the original. It was pretty jarring when playing on a 3DS which had analog controls but that would translate into what the DS supported.
They remade it into Mario 64 DS, yes.
But I mean the original game, just a straight port with widescreen support on the 3DS.
I tried playing the DS version, couldn't get used to the controls and the physics didn't feel as tight.
If you haven't played Sunshine or Galaxy they're definitely worth it

I was tempted to cancel my order from Amazon but after seeing the delivery date could take up to 1-2 weeks longer to arrive from Games than Amazon I think ill pay the extra $6 and go stay with the Amazon order lol
Gamesmen is always on time. The estimated del is just them being cautious for Auspost being slow

I think the price protection is only between the time you order and the time its shipped. Otherwise they might as well just keep selling it at the lower price. Happy to be proven wrong though!

Nah, Nintendo have low margins, ebay and Paypal have high fees, there are lost items using Australia Post. I'm wondering if they clear $5 per sale.

I think every retailer that has these still have pre-orders open, limited release sucks but at least so far there's no indication of it running out any time soon.

If you have a modified switch Mario 64 already has a port running on it that will be better quality than the copy in this release which is a shame. It came from the reverse engineered code and is based on the pc port I believe.

That is so weird. My order was approved through afterpay first payment deducted and was then cancelled the next day. Contacted ebay help. They initially said my paypal and card are not verified which is untrue and they follow by saying seller has limitation on their paypal account which again is bs.

@Gomo: Nah, It was cancelled anyway. It didn’t work either after I re-order. I went to Afterpay they said it was not their decision to cancel it. It was eBay. I went to eBay they have no clue too. Anyway, I was just trying out Afterpay for fun.

Same, to be fair though, no Switch game I have bought has come with a booklet, but lacking the plastic wrapping maybe is because it's a retail copy that they put on shelves and then put in the game cartridge when you bring to the counter.
When was the last time you received an instruction manual?
Also Nintendo games in Australia aren't routinely sealed from the factory.

The way I see it is, if the game is fun for replays, I would've replayed it as an adult already. I bought megaman Zero collection day 1 because I played that soooo many times. It's a game series that keeps on giving.
Some games are better left as one time experiences, or simply not as fun as an adult, but it's hard to tell without playing again.
