Make sure you select click and collect on the website when you preorder to get this offer.

Preorders commence online on 22nd September

Alternatively, you can get the Series S version for $299 when you trade in your Xbox One S but no one would want a stovetop.

EB world is eligible for this offer so if you are on level 4, that’s $420 off the console price itself

Note: Confirmation from EB Games rep If you place an online preorder for collection in store, you don't have to trade in until release day. Which means you can secure this deal and still use your Xbox One X until release day.

      Navigate to https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/store/configure/Xbox-Series-…
      Right click on the "Choose your console (required)" text above the square section with Out of Stock wording, click Inspect.
      You should see "Choose your console (required)" in h4 tag.
      The DIV section below contains class="oos" and disabled="disabled"
      Change the class from "oos" to "m-channel-placement-item m-cart-placement-item f-wide f-full-bleed-image" and remove disabled="disabled".

      You are now able to add the xbox series x to cart.

      I can get to Place Order screen. But I haven't tried to place one since I want to go to EB to trade in.

        Dang good stuff this, this is what literally stopped people from adding it to cart. But once it is in cart, theres a chance you could snatch one.

      Yes you can.

      The trade-in offer goes until the end of January 2021.

      However they might encourage you to trade the console in a few days early to make pick-ups faster. Customers spending less time in store. COVID-19 etc. etc.

        I was told you can actually hold on to your XB1x till day of pick up, it is not smart to spend more time in store, ie 2 trips when you don't need to, especially with restrictions as they are.
        I'd say we will be safe by time of release so go in when it's quiet, 1st thing in the morning on a Tues or Wed when it wont be bust and call ahead to find out when is best.

          When you pick up the Series X is when you do the trade, EB will apparently honor Xbox trade ins till Jan 31st.
          No need to give it to them any sooner. I am going to call them now just to validate.

          EDIT no point in calling, I got engaged and figured everyone is screaming at them atm.

      yes you can trade in before or at launch (and perhaps after too?), whichever suits you I guess.

      I don't think it works that way, you will be trading it in as a stand alone trade in I think, pretty sure they wanted Series S for S trades and Series X for X trades.
      Ring and find out, I am not too happy there are no TnC online.

        I got no email to confirm it, and it didnt show up in my orders section in my eb games account, however the second one did and i got the email. I emailed support so now ill probably get both pre orders cancelled and my account deleted :)

            @SamyKn: Honestly, I would rather hook the Xbox up to a good PC monitor than to a mediocre 4K TV.

            I used to do it for Foxtel (i.e. hooked up to a 23" FHD monitor) and could not go back to the 50" Plasma after.

            Not really apple to apple comparison, but you get the picture.

      With Microsoft's promise to keep all games for up to 2 years backwards compatible with the One X/S, I don't think they'll make any games to fully take advantage of the SSD in terms of how the engine works, it may just be load times for a little while. You'll be fine on the One X, get series S when games no longer support older consoles.

      Ray Tracing may be more of a Series X feature though, it's quite taxing on my 2080ti, can't imagine the Series S will support it greatly on most games. We'll see though.

        btw , Turing was experimental RT , that' why performance was bad even on your 2080Ti. Ampere must be better but i'm waiting for 6900XT to come so can compare better then decide which way to go :)

      No, but given the series X, and it's warranty, and faster ssd, your just paying a little more, so I'd say yes only to the fact the Xbox one X is adding trade in credit.

      However if it wasn't probably not, most definitely not…

        yes and no.

        Not really "spend" but what value you provide them.

        I got to Level 3 purely on trading in stuff (which doubles the carrots).

        So with the upcoming series X trade in, you stand to gain (assuming level 1).

        700 carrots for trading in the xbox one X
        749 carrots (pretty sure its based on full price, someone correct me if I am wrong) for the Xbox Series X purchase
        20 carrots for pre-order bonus

        So in total 1469 carrots from this one deal.

      350 trade in value for XBOX One X … +15% = 402.5 value

      750 - 402.5 = 347.5

        Just clicked on Amazon AU link about 6:15pm and was able to get one launch stock :), now again out of stock. Not sure if someone cancelled or a trickled release. It has been strange how their system has been working as there was no stock at 8am today.
