Ordered the Zotac 3080 trinity in the mad scramble last night - hoping PLE can provide a rough timeline today. TPU review here: "While the Trinity is specified to the same settings as the Founders Edition: same base clock, same boost clock, same memory frequency, and identical power limit, it is around 1% slower than the FE…Temperatures are good: 73°C, or 5°C cooler than the Founders Edition. Noise levels are even better with just 32 dBA, which makes the Trinity one of the quietest RTX 3080 cards we've reviewed today."
Current rig: 9900k @5.1 + placeholder r9 280x gpu. Fingers crossed I get my card before December holidays and I actually have time off from work to game.

That's exactly the reason I went Zotac myself, besides the larger heatsink (though 2.5 slot use isn't great) and lower noise, although I was a bit late to order after 1am. Being the less popular choice it still has a decent back plate, etc. from what I can tell and previous experience with Zotac cards has been good. Here's hoping our choice of brand means earlier arrival..
Very tempting, and props to EVGA for being the only partner charging a reasonable price. If there was an actual timeframe of when these will be fulfilled I'd probably just order one.
Think I'll still just hold out for a Gaming Trio import cuz no way I'm paying $1500 for local stock that is months away anyways.

Just a psa about zotac. For a few generations the fans have had a rattle in them around 65% fan curve (thats about 60c load) note small number of cards affected. Only happens if card is in typical mounted position if you use a riser for window side mount thing it doesn't happen. Can youtube the issue that was posted like 5 years ago. Issue was on my 2080ti

Depends on your location. I'm in melbourne and got free shipping. Can't expect them to subsidise everything especially given mwave charge shipping even for the fe 3080.

Spoke to PLE on the phone.
They have no ETAs or stock availability yet. Rumours suggest each retailer, depending on size, got a max of 30 cards for today. PLE said they are working through the list, and within the next few days will email everyone who pre-ordered what number they are in the queue, and what a rough ETA is.
They also confirmed they have sold over 4,500 3080's since 11pm. So if you put your order through after say 11.30pm last night, you will definitely be waiting until late 2020/early 2021. Guaranteed.

I put my order through 11:14pm AEST last night I wanted to put it at 11pm sharp but the website simply did not let me as there was traffic overload.
Different stocks for different models, so more expensive models might be fulfilled earlier as less people would have bought, fingers crossed :)

Brought the XC3 gaming last night, hope it will deliver soon! However I feel like this is a bit gambling because I did not even get the chance to have a look at the PCB underneath. From the research I did this XC series cards are using the reference 3080 PCB design, similar with the Zotac 3080 card, these standard 3080 cards are not too bulky by size and their price are all at MSRP in PLE store. I am not quite sure how well the material used in this PCB, but given the $1169 price tag I think this is a bargain at 3080 lunch
I purchased a XC3 and a Zotac trinity last night for the price can't complain they both come with 3 year warranty anyway.
What I'm worried about is how long is the orders going to take

They may have taken all the orders however they will only be allocated a certain amount every shipment, just because they have 4500 orders doesnt mean they will get the lionshare of stock coming from EVGA.

Guys you are not getting these cards any time soon, most orders likely to be cancelled I would guess as apparently they have thousands of orders and no idea of stock.
I don’t think they will cancel these order because they got 4500 cards sold last night (rumour) at $1200 each, so that’s 5 million dollars in their bank already. And they can use these money to make baby money..
You can pay by bank transfer, no need to give them any money until they have your card for pickup or delivery.
Likewise if you live in Perth you can opt to pay in store on collection.
@theoracle30: This is what I did. Also if the price goes up in the meantime you will pay the original price you secured the card at. Had this happen to me a couple of times before.

Yes but out of those 5000 people you think everyone is just going to wait until 2021 majority who preorderd are on the assumption that they will get the card sometime this year once PLE sends them a estimated time frame for order arrival many thousands will cancel order and it's not going to be pretty. Because that requires a lot of work by their staff to cancel those orders and it leaves costumer with a bad taste in the mouths from PLE computers
I think most people at the time of ordering didn't realise there would be such a high delay. Based on previous posts here it seems the majority of OzBargainers commenting unrealistically thought their would be heaps of stock.
No denying continuing to take preorders can still be unethical. At least they're now saying on the product page there are significant delays for those who haven't already ordered.
It's madness to OzBargain a little WA chain of computer stores (OK there's one store in Vic) with everyone's preorders for the hottest thing in tech. Probably just creates a mess to undo. Good luck to you all (and to PLE) with this though!

For literally the same price to a RTX 2080 Ti you get extra 20% performance at 2K or 30% at 4K. The biggest problem is you won't be getting this card any time soon.

noon question, would 3200mhz ram be to slow on a 3080? i plan on buying a series 4000 ryzen to replace my 2600 but I'm not sure on the ram speed. thank you for any info
Nah I don't think a couple of hundred MHZ on your ram is going to have a huge impact on your system. More so your CPU/GPU/Resolution combination.

I got a pre-order in on an Eagle OC from PCCG pretty quickly after they were listed. Just got an email from them with an est 30th Sept shipping date. Guess I'll wait and see what my place in line is for the FTW3 Ultra from PLE before I make a call on which one to cancel. I'm not really in a rush to get the card, 1080Ti still doing everything it needs to I just wanted a new toy.
I think I'll wait until the madness eases. I mean to be fair yes this price is a deal because the situation is such that the demand is massive, so even the lowest retail markup is important, but after a few months we might hopefully see some cheaper prices right? Still… that's a few months of 3080 sweetness missed out on so…. hmm :chin-scratching-velociraptor:

@CheapOjoe: I reckon so, if you got in at 11:14PM, I think that was just after some of the cards sold out so hopefully will be in the first few batches so maybe like a month or two wait hopefully. Did you get in 8699xx or 8698xx, I wonder how many were sold in the 15 minutes between our orders. You do seem to be one of the first orders I've seen on Ozbargain though so looking pretty good.
