        • I was the one that asked for the link 😉

You could give it a go, but the difference between using the link now and prior to November 11th is that at one point the offer was at least advertised as being available until November 11th. The offer has never (to my knowledge) been advertised as available now. So whilst it may continue to work due them not removing the offer from their computer systems; if it doesn't work then you don't have any evidence that it should work.

Applied for the offer and got hit with the $250.

Spent an hour on the phone waiting arguing still no resolution. Said they will call back tomorrow with a follow up

    Westpac never again

    • When did you apply?

    • Try call them again. As mentioned above I had the same issue and was not able to get it resolved the first call. The second call they wouldn't waive the fee but I was offered a $150 discount which I accepted.

How can that be acceptable when the promotion said no annual fee?

I'm still waiting on a response from last week - said they were checking with the credit cards team and haven't heard back.

        • Because I think it’s likely I didn’t actually apply for the no annual fee deal. I saw it when I clicked through from the OB page, but the westpac mobile app was crashing when I actually tried to apply for it. So I reloaded the app, found what looked like the same deal, and applied for that. It was not the same deal and the annual fee was not waived on that deal but I obviously didn’t read the fine print. Sine the error is on me, I think $150 is a reasonable gesture from WP.

This has been one of the most efficient churns for me.

    Applied 27th Oct
    Approved 28th Oct
    Card arrived 2nd Nov

1st Statement arrived 24th Nov with a balance of $4015 (stopped using the card as soon as I hit $4k).

150k altitude rewards points credited 26th Nov. Used those 150k points to have 3 x $250 credited to my account (technically this is to offset annual fee, but could be redeemed 3 times, even though I never paid an annual fee).

Paid off the remaining $3265 today (30th Nov) and closed the card.
