    A kidney for a kidney I see…

    • this is only for someone who really want the 3080 in stock, dunno which 3080 they use, maybe 3080 founder edition?

      • MOST LIKELY

      • +5

They use their own custom one.

        • Yes - This is my understanding of it too
Usually the big OEMs do this because they have high enough volumes that it's worthwhile.

  • +2

RRP $4,769.10 … oh wow mind blowing even for a RTX 3080.

    • +2

Scroll down the listing a bit and the RRP is actually $5,199 (the $4,769.10 was the original ebay price).

    • +3

There's a markup for the aesthetics and the fact that it's an Alienware, worth it tbh, my pc that I built last month is $4k with a 3950x and 2080 super and that's with all the Ozbargain only price for main components

      https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/314657/83955/pc.png

      • +14

really ? You think its worth paying extra for alienware. I don't.

        • +3

hey man, after I build a pc, I realise aesthetics is very important, I personally went with a Corsair Spec-06 at first and it didn't suit my taste, so I drop like an extra $1k to watercooling mainly just to make it look better

So some people really like the Alienware aesthetics

      • Where did you get 3950x for $850? Haven't seen that price in a while? Also please share about RM850x seller too

        • +1

3950x was $900 during eBay flash sale, 5% cashback = $40, and $10 bonus from Shopback

RM850x was from Amazon AU, the black version was actually only $199, but I choose white for $229 to go with the aesthetics

          • @ln28909: show us your build!!!!

            • +5

              @michaelTito: Was so beautiful

              https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/314657/83240/20200930_…

              Now lol

              https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/314657/83962/20201027_…

I've been playing around trying to run 2 different GPU together, will clean it up sometimes

              • @ln28909: Thanks. Looks lovely but wanted to ask that your PSU stays outside the case?
Also what kind of temperatures do you see on full load?

                • @jedimaster: Thanks, so when I run 2 GPU, I need an extra PSU as my primary one is only 850W, the second one could also be placed inside the O11 XL but then I have to sacrifice 2 HDD slots, so I just leave it outside for now, and maybe upgrade to 1200W when I find a good deal.

With all the glass panels on and normal fan speed, GPU temp max at 50, CPU max at 90 (so bad, I try to reapply thermal paste a few times, but I reckon I may have got a faulty block)

With all the glass panels off and max fan, GPU temp max below 45, CPU max at 80

Also, my CPU is OC to 4.4Ghz on all cores; GPU 2100Mhz Core, 9000Mhz Mem

              • @ln28909: Wow beautiful.. Maybe go hard line next?

                • @michaelTito: Yeah I will soon when I have the time, I'm also contemplating whether I should take out the distro plate and put another radiator in there, since I'm very likely to run two GPU in the system in the future

      • Nice build. How do you find the x570 Tomahawk?

        • So not so great really, my RAM is a Samsung B die but I can never OC it above the XMP of 3200mhz cl16 and my CPU runs pretty hot for something underwater so I'm not sure if its the CPU block fault or the VRM

          • @ln28909: Ah ok. By all accounts the VRM was meant to be top notch!

    • The RtX 3080 paper edition I bought on eBay cost me 5 grand alone.

  • +18

Sometimes I scoff at all these overpriced PCs but my own PC build I'm working on already cost me 4k…..

    • +1

Yea. My PC projected to be 1.5k.. Finished at 2.2k. Not sure what I did anymore

      • let me guess if i got this correctly. for a 1.5K if it is a complete build from ground up then your CPU is 3300X and your GPU is 1660 Super?

    • Spot on. I'm 2k in (including 1440p 165hz 27" gsync display hdr 600 monitor) and am yet to buy rtx 3080, ryzen 9 5900x, ram, motherboard and m2 nvme drives. I'm probably pushing $5k.

  • +22

that PC looks like female genitalia. Even has a little round dot right at the top

    • +18

I’d really love to know who taught you sex ed…

      • Maybe he got sex ed from Heavy Rain?

        • All I can think of is that scene from the South Park movie now …

      • you sound curious and out of the loop, I guess your avatar is an accurate depiction of why you are clueless on the subject

      • redtube

    • Is all the action the owner will see by buying this :D

    • +2

      RGB…???

    • @Overtime2000 - I thought the same thing when I saw it.

    • +1

      My first thought. Alien genitalia.

    • Question. Where the hell are the girls you are meeting from?

    • oh my gosh .. I'm sooo glad I'm not the only one.. Thank you.

  • Very Tempting !

  • It's actually a really good price for a quality prebuilt

  • Is this a reasonably priced system based on the specs?

    • +1

Around 3k worth of parts give or take.

      • +2

So, around $800+ on top for a branded build together with Dell warranty, plug and play and no assembly required.
        Would it be worth it?
Honest question here, as I have no experience in putting a system together and prefer not to go into that.

        • +1

Can almost guarantee that thermals will be worse as they usually are

          • @cille745: Says CPU is liquid cooled. Are you sure?

P.S. Its liquid cooling like they have liquid cooling in phones!

          • +2

@cille745: Both the CPU and GPU are watercooled in the R11 so for once the thermals are likely very decent in this. As long as there is ventilation for hot air to escape from the rads (which it looks like there is out the top for the CPU, and out the back via the blower style rad for the GPU) it should run pretty well.

Watercooled GPUs are not cheap so the value of this is actually quite a bit better than suggested (whether watercooled GPUs are worth it or not is another story).

        • +1

I think yes, it's just about worth it if you really want this kind of high-end system, especially as you have no building experience (mistakes are expensive at the high end). I've got an old Alienware Alpha that is still running well, so I rate their builds. The warranty (though only a year) is the on-site premium version.

        • +1

Putting a system together isn't as hard as it sounds, but yeah it's really down to personal preference whether the $800 is worth it. One option to consider is that some websites will put together the build for you if you purchase everything from them for a fee of maybe $100. If you're a patient Ozbargainer also keep in mind that you can probably get those parts (or equivalent) for cheaper than $3k, you just have to shop around and wait for sales.

          • +2

@SoresuMakashi: Under 3k? Highly doubt it.

            • +1

@huey: Between cashback, sales, and new releases (Zen 3 + Big Navi), why not? Obviously you have a lot of price flexibility when it comes to case/cooling/PSU too (and tbh I would trust a 600W supply from a certified manufacturer over Alienware's no-name 1000W supply).

              • +1

                @SoresuMakashi: 600w with a 3080, nice try.

                • @huey: Yeah must've been a joke there

                • -1

@huey: lol you really underestimate a quality 600w psu, a seasonic 600w will have no issues powering a 3080 and i9

                  • @baytrail: Nvidia recommend a 750w minimum for the 3080 in an everyday system, so 600w will not be sufficient to leave headroom for other hardware components.

                    https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1241502-is-a-600w-psu-e…

                    Yeah okay?

                    • +1

@huey: because they know people cheap out on power supplies they over compensate.

                  • +1

@baytrail: 350W for stock 3080, i9 70W all my RGB and hard drives chew through 180W, yeah no chance

Probably barely doable in an ITX like Ghost S1 where you'll undervolt a lot and no flashy RGB but no point if doing atx build

                    • @ln28909: they are all powered limited. your avg joe will not shunt mod a 1400 gpu to get more power out of it.

show me where ur using the absolute power of your cpu and gpu at once. go ahead, ill wait.

                      • +1

@baytrail: FtW3 new bios allow it to go to 450W without any physical mods

And multitasking, you could run a gpu intensive task like upscale videos, while doing a render on premier pro that is mostly not optimise for gpu so my 3950x would consume over 200w on its own

Also, the majority buying 3080 are probably not your average Joe but pc enthusiasts that want like 4k gaming at ultra settings, your average Joe would buy a 2070 super since they probably wouldn't want to drop $1000 on a monitor for example

        • +1

You either spend time or money.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Jokes on you I like assembling and breaking things while assembling

    • all high end parts, pretty good if you have eBay gift cards that give you 5% off then it will give you another $200 saving

      • +3

Parts can be much higher quality with costom /diy build. These alienware and many major brands commonly use below average components.

      • any more discounted ebay gift cards on offer?

        • +1

I am a union member and can get eBay gift card for 3% off, not sure about 5%, few days ago you can buy the 5% gift card and exchange for eBay one.

    • A system with as close specs as I could configure would go for ~ $3300 including Windowes OEM license + assembly & testing.

(https://bit.ly/31KPN0Z + add $1139 for GPU assuming you could actually get a FE. Not endorsing that retailer, just easy to configure and share)

  • I don't think that code applies to Alienware. Shoved one in my cart to have a look see and it did not work

    • I just tested and it works

      • Maybe I don't know how ebay works :|

        • +6

eBay doesn't know how eBay works… why would us mere mortals be any different.

      • nope, definitely doesn't work for me. Not the first time I have issues with ebay codes :|

        • Odd worked for me, are you an eBay Plus Member ?

        • It will be an issue with your eBay account, if you wanted to purchase you can either pay as a guest or contact eBay live chat and they will sort out the account for any future coupons.

  • +2

Thanks, bought 4. Will set them up in parallel so I can run my games at 4x the max speed.

    • Only 4?

    • rich guy

    • Did you also grab four G9 monitors?

    • That's like finishing minecraft in 5 mins at 30 speed

  • Damn this is actually an awesome price for an Alienware and the limited stock from 3080

  • -4

    AMD only.

  • +5

I need to stop looking at this to prevent myself dropping $3815.28

    • +1

      YOLO

    • +1

just drop it, and then think about it later, since you get 30 days return anyway

  • +2

4k PC? Makes a PS5 seem cheap as chips for gaming!!!!
Where have I been, prices seem to have gone up in the last 10 years :|

  • oh that's a pretty case. it's a shame they couldn't make the rear io black for $4k…..

    • +1

The back looks just like your ordinary Dell…

  • +1

can anyone recommend a good 1080p 60hz monitor to pair with this?

    • lol I hope this is joke. You want a giant 4K with 9999999Hz and GSYNC

      • I only play farmingville and fort night time

        • You're wasting money on 60fps my friend. 30hz is enough, 24 if want cinematic style

  • +1

I am so tempted but the only thing holding me off is there is no 3090 build.

    • I am so tempted but the only thing holding me off is … .
      absolutely no money :)

    • Isn't the 3090 only like 10% faster in games compared to the 80?

  • will this run Among Us?

    • A toaster can run among us, and this looks slightly better than a toaster… so yes :)

      • +1

it sorta looks like my dyson bladeless fan
