    mine just got cancelled
    "Unfortunately there was an issue yesterday where the Playstation 5 console was incorrectly displayed on the BIG W website, even though there was no stock available.
    This means we are unable to fulfil your order, and have subsequently cancelled it.
    We understand that this must be disappointing and we would like to sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused."

      If i log in and check tracking it says 'awaiting processing', but if i click the tracking link in the order email it says 'cancelled'.

        So if I click the tracking link it says:
        "Status: Being Fulfilled
        Tracking Link: Not yet available. Please check back soon."

        If I go to my account > View & Track Orders it says:
        "Awaiting Processing" as order status & "Picking in progress"

        …. hmmmm

      the refund will be instant however PayPal takes 5 days.

      Big W informed me that it was an error and all orders placed will be cancelled as they can not fulfilled the order.

      I am keeping my in my cart so I am 1 step ahead.

    I received my PS5 yesterday from JB Hifi. Was one of the lucky few whose order got through on launch day pre-orders. Interestingly, the ETA was 8th December, so I received it 2 weeks early.
    Also, the console is huge and bulky. I had a remove a shelf from my TV cabinet to make room for it, where previously a PS4 and an Nvidia Shield sat comfortably on top of each other.

      Good Guys first recent pre-order round people have paid, waiting until the assumed "from 15th December" pickup date. Second recent round isn't expecting to get payment texts until the 27th at least. So nothing new to report yet!

    Seems like there might be a few extra PS5s floating around in some stores from their latest shipment.

            @Sharyingh: JB Maribyrnong had a few Digital editions this morning. The receipt has details about pre-orders, and its 2 weeks since launch, so I think it they were consoles who didn't pick up their pre-order.

                @metroid87: No. A friend has been calling around and told me they said they had a few in stock. She had to get it from out the back for me. By the time I got home I was told they were gone.

                Preston also had some disc versions this morning, I'm not sure if they have any left.

      I just called my local store after reading this (Capalaba) and they said they had a few yesterday left over from the 2nd batch. But they sold them quickly.
      She said they will probably have more for walk-ins after the next round.
      The next 2 closest stores had none, but they are also much bigger stores in busy shopping centres.

      So I'd call your less busy stores and see you f you have any luck.

    Spoke to JB at Gepps Cross in SA - they have still not heard when they will be getting their preorder stock in. We spoke about Eastern states having left over stock to sell and this being because Eastern states will typically receive the main share of any product like this. The fact that they have stock to sell 'off the shelf' means they received so much stock to cover their preorders plus more. Stores could theoretically transfer their left over stock to other locations with preorders waiting but really why would they ?

      what's weird is that they received enough stock for pick up, but didnt receive any stock for delivery. So anybody who chose delivery is still only getting it December 7…. They chose to sell excess stock over giving it to the people who chose delivery

      That doesn't really make a huge amount of sense. Was the rep suggesting they currently have additional stock beyond their preorder volume coming? Surely stores are only getting enough to cover off what that store has on backorder. All websites including JB BigW HN etc now state that orders are being centrally handled and you have to order online, so it doesnt sound like any retail front stock for a while.

        I'd say each store probably received their allocation the needed for click and collect, and maybe some people cancelled so they had a few leftover.
        I don't think delivery orders are shipped from local stores, and they wouldn't have a waiting list either as the current round is already spoken for.

        He was saying that the stores who are selling off the shelf received more stock than they had preorders for. Not saying that store I spoke to were expecting spare stock.

      This, I've been calling around Perth to see if anyone had anything left over and apparently Osborne park had a couple yesterday but they sold within 10mins. Everyone else said they get about 4 units per round with majority being allocated to eastern states. Ones store even told me he had 40 registrations of interest that they are chipping away at with cancellations and they aren't expecting anymore stock this year…so pretty much impossible. Just have to wait for Amazon I guess

          Amazon still havent gotten back to me about an ETA since i changed the shipping method. The supervisor i spoke to yesterday said it happened a lot in the first round and most customers still got it during the time frame they were expecting it which was nice to hear

    I've been speaking with Amazon in relation to my order and I just received an update which said " it is expected to deliver when we have the next stock which is by 2021-01-15 AEDT". Granted this isn't the representative who I was speaking with previously, it is a different employee who's replied to my last email, let's hope they are mistaken and meant December 15.

          I stopped ringing around. The Thomastown manager said it's up to the individual store manager and that most of them just cbf, so most wont be doing it.
