    • Includes 15,000 Telstra Plus Points

It's only 5000 points for the Small plan.

Enjoy bonus Telstra Plus points when you take up or renew an eligible month-to-month data plan. Or you take up a mobile broadband device on an eligible month-to month plan.

    Small plan 5,000 bonus points
    Medium plan 10,000 bonus points
    Large plan 15,000 bonus points

You’ll need to take up the plan or device by 9 November 2020, and join our rewards program, Telstra Plus, within 30 days (if you’re not already a Telstra Plus member). You must be over 18 and have an active service to join Telstra Plus. Excludes business customers. Bonus points may take up to 30 business days to appear on your account.

    • Thanks, fixed.

      • +3

And just noticed it says you need to take up the plan by the 9th (so yesterday). So don't even know if that is even still current at all.

  • +2

    Where is the $10 off?

    • +1

      Applies on checkout page.

      • Not currently a Telstra customer, but it doesn't show for me because I have an existing Telstra ID. D:

good to utilise data plan for dual sim phone, main one using normal sim card for receiving and making phone call and data plan one on eSIM for data :), best for cheap arse without worrying no data lol

    • Speed capped at 1.5Mbps

When you exceed your allowance, you can continue to access data, but your speed will be capped at 1.5Mbps. This isn’t suitable for HD video or high-speed applications, and some web pages, social media content and files may take longer to load.

Your speed will depend on a range of factors including your device, location, user numbers and download sources, and may be slowed further during busy periods. Heavy data users (users in the top 1% of all data users) may experience slower speeds than other users during busy periods. For personal use in Australia only and the FairPlay Policy applies.

Yep, and on an iPhone, if your carrier supports VoLTE & WiFi Calling (unfortunately this rules out most prepaid and MVNOs), it'll automatically tunnel calls/SMS over the data SIM that has service.

Eg, Vodafone postpaid SIM for calls/data, paired with Telstra SIM - when you go out of Vodafone coverage, iOS will automatically tunnel your Vodafone calls/SMS/MMS via the Telstra SIM :)

boost has volte and wifi calling and it's cheap!

  • That's cheaper than the Boost 240GB prepaid plan which RRP $300.

    • +1

But that has calling included, no?

      • +5

My bad, was glancing quickly, thinking this was a normal phone plan :-)

      • And international calls too.

    Data only

Why someone will sign up for 50gb for $55 when Vodafone is giving you 500gb? Just the coverage?

    • +1

Yep, got me by the goolies in that regard. No one else has coverage when I go away for work.

Was running an old deal of 30gb for $35 (including the same $10 off per month) but they have forced everyone to change plans and this is their closest apparently. I don't want to spend and extra $20/month for 20gb which I won't use.

The 180gb for $65/month ($50 credit per month) is much better value if you're going close to this price point.

    • +1

Because this Telstra deal is for a data only SIM - the Vodafone plan is a mobile phone plan, and the CIS states

Tethering permitted to personal devices only, but must not be used in a modem or as a substitute for a home internet service.

You can't place the Vodafone $55/500GB SIM in a modem - but you could legitimately pair it with a $15/5GB data sharing SIM (so $70/month for a mobile phone SIM and a data SIM, and 505GB to use)

  • Where’s the 20% cash back come into it?

    • I accidentally put 20%. The cashback is $20. (Fixed OP.)

  • +1

If I read correctly the t&c on Cashrewards, no cashback on the data plan as it's mobile broadband??

    • someone please confirm

      • That's how it reads. Got $35 last year

  • Have I read correctly that the 20gb plan only on 4G, no 5G?

    • Correct. For me 4G is fast enough…

      • Cool thanks for confirming.

  • 50$ credit for 12 months on extra large 180GB plan, so it is now 115-50=65/month for 12 months

    • This deal is cheaper if you don’t need the extra data.

  • does the 20GB plan come with a bigpond email account?

    • only with a small pond

    • +1

No. Bigpond emails are getting phased out anyway (as in Telstra will soon stop the creation of new ones)

      • Thanks

I'm trying to shift my mother in law off her home phone + adsl connection onto a mobile, it'd be good if i could find a cheapish way to retain her existing bigpond email

  • Does the data plan work in cellular iPads?

    • Yep!

Have one of these (from another $10 off 12/m promotion) in an iPad.

  • 180GB Phone Plan for $65 p/m, not bad!

  • I'm running 2 of these sim cards - 1 for my home internet in a 4G modem and 1 in my mobile on dual sim mode with the main card being a cheap prepaid card with unltd calls / text. Cheap as!

  • I changed to the $25 plan yesterday through the My Telstra app, is the $10 discount automatic? Can't see where it mentions $10 off the website? Tried to upgrade my plan and wasn't offered $10 at checkout.

    • New services only.

      • +1

Thanks just ordered a new service will cancel the old, waste of courier/sim card but oh well. Good deal for the iPad.

  • New services only.

Seems to include anyone who's ever used Telstra in the past unless you create a completely new Telstra ID?

    • New Service i.e. Additional, not change of plan.

  • Does the sim have free delivery when ordering it online?

  • Is there any chance you can negotiate a free e-sim for a phone on top of this?

    • eSIM’s are included for free, just select eSIM instead of SIM at checkout. Alternatively you can also order an eSIM via the app or live chat after signing up.

      • So I can a physical Sim card AND an e-sim for $15? :)

        • Oh I see what you mean now. I think you’d have to contact them, worth a try at least.

          Call: 1800 882 389
Live Chat: (Via app or on website)

  • Got one last day today, thanks OP!
