        • Storage space is as cheap as it gets in terms of parts.

Those games would be fine with a system half the price at hd res. It is entirely dependent on resolution, framerates vs high settings and future ability in that order.

4k gaming still requires some serious investment in screens and system ability hence why most go with 1080/1440p (full hd/qhd2k)

I agree with the other that said upgrade parts which is easy but that may not suit your setup/wants.

    • If you bought this he would definitely need a bigger storage. (Probably the 1tb mechanical hard drive.) As all of those games together will takeup atleast 500 gigabytes. Unless youre capable of taking the current storage out and putting it in this system.

Cant really comment on the I58600 or the GTX 1070.. As i dont have any experience on them or the specs of his monitor to gather a perspective on his needs or limits..

      • Havent picked a monitor yet, was going to wait for some BF deals

    • +1

Instead of a whole new system maybe just upgrade some parts for him, it seems like he has a solid build already, the 2000 series GeForce graphic cards have plummeted in price recently. I don't know much about the CPU but it's not that old and can be overclocked so I'm assuming it's fine for now with those games. He might also appreciate some peripherals instead; headset, keyboard, mouse, chair

  • Nice price so tempting 😃👍

  • +3

over to you, virco Titan Tech

if the deal can be sweeten to the below, i think it would be a winner:

    CPU: Ryzen 5 3500X or Ryzen 7 3700X processor ($259) Ryzen 3600
GPU: RX 5700 XT (Luke confirmed MSI and Giga are being used) or RTX 2070 Super
    Motherboard: Biostar B550MH Any other B550M preferably with Wi-Fi capability i.e. Asus Prime B550M A WiFi AM4
    RAM: 16GB 3200MHz
    SSD: 240GB 2.5" Kingston A2000/Crucial MX500/P1/ 1TB NVMe
PSU: Gigabyte P650B 80 Plus Bronze Corsair RM750x/SeaSonic Focus Plus Gold 750w
Case: Lance-V RGB ATX Casing to suit Motherboard form factor

    • +9

The problems us once you upgrade the parts, the price goes up and no-one is interested.

      Virco's https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/579360
$1496 deal is good value with 5600x and better components but has only 22 upvotes. They even got a flogging for using cl22 ram timings on a budget system when pushing to keep price below $1500.

      • how is no-one interested? the deal should have been marked as expired or sold out.

  • Anyone with a 5700xt, how's you're experience with those driver issues now? I'm incredibly tempted here

    • you go to reddit and you'll find mixed messages; i say 50 50. 1 year on and it is still 50 50.

  • My son mostly plays roblox, minecraft but also Titanfall 2 and occasionally fortnight. Will this handle all that at 1440p and last a few years?

    • +1

None of those are particularly cpu heavy and the 5700xt is ample for those titles at 1440p. The only caveat is if your son wants to try raytraced Minecraft, which needs a beefy nvidia GPU.

      • What is ray tracing? Eli5 plz

Does it have a huge impact FPS?

I use to game alot in the 2000's and back then I remember anti aliasing mode impacts FPS alot of alot with minimal gain in graphics so gamers recommend it to be turned off at all times. Is that the thing with ray tracing?

        • It hits frames like a truck and there isn't huge support for it yet. It does look pretty cool in some titles but it still feels like we're in beta territory.

As far as what it is, there are a few effects that it offers, the most obvious being reflections and natural illuminations.

          • @AEKaBeer: Thanks, sounds like the modern day AA mode

  • Going to play warhammer TW and other Total war games in 1920x1080 as I havent upgraded my PC in almost 9 years

Will maybe play some others like RDR2 and Cyberpunk(if it is really good as hyped)

Im thinking if I should buy this or save the $300 and buy the $799 TF unit.

    Your recommendations will be appreciated

    • +1

The TW games are pretty demanding, particularly on CPU which will determine turn times. The 3500x will do the job but really this is a series that will run noticeably better on the 3600 and even moreso on the 3700x.

  • Is the 3700x really 260$ more? Seems like it’s the same price as the 5600.

    • 3700x > 5600x in more threads/cores. Better performance in productivity tasks. The 3700x does not come with stock cooler either, and would require CPU cooler purchase.

5600x > 3700x in higher core speed. Better performance in gaming. Come with stock CPU cooler.

Depend on what you need really. If you don't really need pure gaming machine and prefer something more productive, 3700x during a sale would be cheaper. Don't expect 5600x to go on sale now since it's newly released.

      • 3700X comes with the Wraith Prism

        • My bad. Somehow I remembered the 3700x does not have cooler, but it's just the 5700x 5900x one are those without coolers. And the edit button somehow doesn't show up either

  • Pretty wild to think that I paid around the same for a i5-4670K and GTX970 system a couple of months after those were released and here we are looking at this price on year old parts. 2020 has been a hell of a trip.

  • Just purchased. Got a 5 yr old gaming machine, GTX 970 / i5 4690K. Originally was going to upgrade just the GPU to a 2060 Super/2070 and the rest later. But this deal was good enough to go the whole hog.

Mainly used for driving simulator gaming (ACC/RF2/AM2) and potentially FS 2020. Added a 1tb SSD storage. First time purchaser, hopefully this system will last me another 5 years.

Does it come with Win 10 but no activation? Or do I need to install Win 10 with an activation code?

    • +1

Thanks for your purchase! Win 10 Home is preinstalled unactivated, along with drivers and stress testing prior to dispatch. You can buy a key from us or obtain/use one from elsewhere.

  • +7

When it's all said and done I think we are very lucky to have the competition and suppliers like…Virco, Titan Tech & Tech Fast.
I believe they show us what are good system configuration & exceptional price should be thereby avoiding the pitfalls rip off merchants especially for those of us who have been out of the PC loop for years and those who are new or don't know anything about computers.

  • +1

    Upgrading from an i5 3570k and GTX 960 2GB, yes it's been almost 8 years…

Should I go with the 3500x or spend extra for the 3700x?

Using PC for gaming and general office use (word/excel/project etc).

Is the extra cores/threads a must have?

    Cheers

    • The 3700X will murder all of those tasks for years to come plus any photo or video editing you wanted to do. The 3500X will also do a tip top job.

      • Thanks so much for getting back to me Luke

Whats the difference in going the AMD B550 vs MSI B450?

And what type of RAM is being used and does it come with RGB without upgrading?

        • The B550 is a newer chipset confirmed to work with this and the next generation of AMD CPUs. B450 compatibility will end this gen. The MSI Mortar B450 is a great bang for buck, higher spec B450 that has a higher cost than the bundled B550 from Biostar, hence the small cost.
Brands and models of RAM vary according to what is on hand. Some models have RGB and some don't, but RGB is not something we offer as a specific upgrade path. Its down to availability and quantities we require.

          • @luketechfast: Thanks for that Luke

Unsure if I'm allowed to ask, but will there be any comparable offers specifically for black friday?

I'm pretty keen on the 3700x/5700xt combo.

            Cheers

            • @niren1706: This is the Black Friday deal for the 5700 XT, there won't be a specific 3700X 5700XT system - if there was it would be the same price anyway as it would just be bumped by the CPU price difference.

              • @luketechfast: Thanks Luke

I really appreciate all your responses as this is all quite new to me.

For future proofing, in your opinion do I go with the stock B550 or MSI B450?

I want to potentially be able to overclock in future but don't foresee any hardware upgrades anytime in the next 5-7 years (fingers crossed).

And if I request prefered brands for the RAM is that something which could be accommodated?

                Thanks again

                • @niren1706: I'd get the Aorus Elite B550 - spend the extra on the newer chipset and the better tier board over the Biostar given your long term view. Specific RAM requests aren't something we can accommodate - advice there is to buy the minimum spec and upgrade separately from retail to get a specific model you're after.

                  • @luketechfast: Awesome thanks for that Luke

Confirming the RGD Wraith Prism cooler will be used with the 3700x?

Thanks again, can't wait to get. Any chance it won't take the whole 14days to build and ship out?

                    • @niren1706: Correct on 3700X. We've ramped significantly for Christmas period so some systems are shipping inside this, yes. Can't guarantee anything though.

                      • @luketechfast: Thanks Luke

Expect an order from me in the next 48 hours :)

Thanks again for all your help, super excited!

  • Quick question - If I leave the "No Operating System Activation" option ticked does the system still get delivered with Windows 10 installed (without activation of course)?

    • +1

      From the description :)
"Microsoft Windows 10 Home Edition is pre-installed on the system. If you would like it Activated, please purchase an activation key from us in the configuration process below and we will send it with your system."

  • -1

Guys, can this combo run warzone at 1080p 144hz?

    • Should do

  • If I was to upgrade 1 component what would be your 1st choice. Motherboard, ram to 16gb x 2 because only 2 slots or cpu?

  • +1

Has anyone seen or can review the Lance-V RGB ATX Case?… Is it a decent quality? Do the front fans do much? To be honest, I just want a simple noise reducing case that doesn't have flashing lights and obnoxious fans.

  • +1

The important question, pull the trigger on this and get it in time for Christmas, or wait for black friday just in case Luke posts a better deal then?

Also really wish there was the option to add a pci-e wireless card

    • @Luke would there be a 3060 Ti build within $200ish of this one when they release?

      How's availability looking?

Just trying to get the best build within budget that I can

      • +1

No word on 3060 Ti as yet, would be purely speculation. 3070 launch was certainly far better than 3080 so you'd hope the same will be true for 3060 Ti.
We don't offer PCIE cards because not every motherboard is compatible and there's no simple way to split them out. The safest approach is that no "bundled" (i.e. brand not specificed) MATX board supports a PCIE network card but you can check any board where the brand/model is listed, and all ATX boards do.

        • Thanks for getting back to me Luke, keep up the good work!
I'll chat to my son tonight see if he wants to risk rating for the 3979 Ti as he wants a system for Xmas :)

        • One more question Luke.
How long is this deal running for? Will this will be available when the 3060 Ti build becomes available?

And to your reply can you confirm if a pci-e wifi card will work with the biostar board that comes standard?

          Thanks again buddy

          • @Phreaker: There won't be enough room to install a PCIE card on the B550, so move across to the B450 Mortar or up to the B550 Aorus Elite, which both have the room. No confirmed end date, just running for Black Friday/Cyber Monday at this stage.

  • So if I understand your comments Luke, the standard card (Biostar) wont support the addition of a PCIe Wireless network card which I have and intended to install? I need to run my PC wireless as my router is the other side of the house. I ordered my system on Saturday, so what are my options now? I did add a Wi-Fi adapter but I think that wont be as good as my PCIe wireless card.

    • +1

The Biostar B550 motherboard doesn't have room underneath the GPU to fit a PCIE card, no. The option would be to source a higher spec USB WiFi adapter as the one we offer is considered entry level (we can refund it if you want), or upgrade to either the B450 Mortar or B550 Aorus Elite via invoice after purchase. Please email [email protected] and we can assist. Inbox is under heavy load after the weekend but we'll get back when we can.

  • Thanks Luke. I have messaged Tech Fast via the site as I will certainly need to upgrade the mobo then. Will cancel the WiFi adapter and while I am at it upgrade the CPU to the 3700X. Rather than bother you here I will wait for a response from Tech Fast to confirm my changes before build commences. Want to future proof so will likely go with the B550 (which I assume the model you provide doesn't come with WiFi/BT options).

  • With intel proc seem to be lowering the prices, @luke do we have any intel deals? Thanks

  • RX 5700xt doesn't seem to have lost its value, a similar system with the same processor (different mobo, ram) were up for grabs for only $81 more, close to 12 months ago!

  • @Luke Just wondering if this deal is still active? I was on the website, but it is coming up as $1399.00.

    • put the code in?

      • Oops, I am blind, thanks :)

  • Would this system be good for autocad?

  • Hi luketechfast

    Ordered this on the 22/11/2020
Super excited as its the 1st computer I have bought in over 10years.
Heard good things about your builds!

How long do you think it will be before at my door?
    Sorry for the trouble.

I got the this Order TF119162631

Solid State Drive: 240GB m.2 NVME SSD
Power Supply: Gigabyte P650B 650W 80+ Bronze Power Supply

  • Is there any chance that TechFast will release a Ryzen 5 3600 / RX 5700 XT combination deal perhaps for Christmas or Boxing day? I think that would be a real standout.

  • Can a pci-e network card be installed on this motherboard, or would the 5700xt cover the bottom pci-e lane? I need wireless network access, and trying to decide whether to upgrade to the mobo with wifi built in or get a network card for the stock mobo.

  • Hi @luketechfast planning on getting this. Wanted to confirm the upgrade with AMD B550 WiFi M-ATX Motherboard $99. What brand are you using for this?

    • +1

With that many upgrades, assuming you plan to game, you'd probably be better off starting with one of their 3070 deals, e.g. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/585050

May be able to switch/cancel without penalty and reorder if you want by emailing them

  • +1

Will this run cyberpunk 1080p 144hz?

  • Would this be good for a PC for work? I want something powerfull my I7 amd laptop is getting laggy…. any help apprecitated…

  • +1

appears to be sold out :( Luke, have you got news on when this build will be back on/for sale?

  • +1

Can people post what they got inside as people start receiving theres.

    • +1

Bought one with this deal, last one available at the time. Won’t receive it until 14 business days later which is in late December. I’ll probably come back n tell u what’s inside, hopefully it’s decent.

      • +2

The 14 days is 14 business days. And thats when they dispatch it, not you receiving it. So 3 weeks plus shipping

        • Yeah which is pretty unfortunate, thought it would arrive right around my birthday instead of 3 weeks later but I guess it is what it is

  • +1

has anyone got their shipping information ?

    • Nope

    • Not yet here.

    • +1

Haven’t heard a peep about that. Although I have sent an email asking whether or not they can accelerate the process time and ship it ASAP, they wrote back very politely with a NO, so expect shipping info coming out at the end of next week and delivered the week after. I’d call it lucky if I can get my hand on it before Christmas. No idea why they need forever to “process” :(

  • People who bought the 3070 Black Friday deal which was posted after this deal are already receiving their systems..

    • +1

Someone ordered their PC on the 30/11 and got the shipping confirmation today, while I bought it on the 22nd and still no update.

  • +1

I ordered mine just a few hours after this was posted and have not heard anything since. I'm sure the system will be fine, but I'll never order from them again.

  • Yeah today is the 15th business day but haven't received any updates :(

    • :( further in the queue behind you

    • I just got my text/email now saying it's been shipped. I was the same as you, right on the 15th business day.

      • +1

I got an email saying mine was shipped today as well. I'm happy, but it's really not an acceptable waiting period for any business. Even if everything works perfectly, next time I'll definitely choose a different store.

      • +1

Just an update. Got delivered today (Auspost on a Sunday). When initially plugging in the machine, I couldn't get any display out of the HDMI or Display Ports. Couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Checked the power etc for the video card and all connected ok, then when looking at the slot on the motherboard I could visibly see the contacts of the video card sitting half outside the slot.

Tried pushing the card in but it wouldn't go any further in. On taking the card out and investigating, a small tab of the PCB on the MSI 5700XT I got makes solid contact with the chipset heatsink (towards the front of the case) on the B550 Aorus Elite motherboard I chose as an upgrade. It prevents the card from seating fully in the motherboard.

After a few goes of reseating the card to try to get proper contact, I got a display, but I can still see the contacts towards the rear end of the card, so it's possible that it'll lose connection again (and possibly damage the card) if the computer is moved slightly….

        • That's pretty shocking that they would send the system like that. Have you contacted them?

  • +1

bought it on 27th Nov, have not yet got shipping information now ….. no idea how the system goes but will never buy from it anymore, takes too long

    • That is only 11 business days, calm down.

    • Still nothing also and now 15th

    • its 14th and still nothing, email them and was told will be shipped tomorrow, will see!

      • I bought 20th November.. still no PC

        • +1

my god, that's nearly a month! have u contacted them?

    • its 17th business day and no shipping infor, emailed them and no response! !!

  • Nice pc but they installed windows 10 on the hdd instead of the ssd. Was wondering why it took so long to load up lmao.

    • What gfx card (brand/model) did u get ?

      • +1

        msi 5700xt mech oc

  • +1

My tracking is still stuck on "received and ready for processing" since last Thursday morning. No updates since then.. kinda worrying.

  • +1

Got ours today. It's missing one fan!! but it's explained from the Techfast crew in a note accompanying the order, they ran out and more are on the way. A self install is required when it is received…..I hope it's easy ha ha. I'm surprised by the size…. The thing is a beast.

    • Just set ours up and only has 2 fans in the front - it should have 3 right? Did you have to contact them to organise delivery of the missing fan??

      • So what happened to the third missing fan?

        • There was actually a letter with the PC that I hadn't seen when I posted my earlier comment. Note says they didn't have enough fans and will ship one out to us when in stock - said this was easy to install and would provide full instructions - so all good.
