Agree..wouldn’t mind a free mouse if they’re just handing them out..

    • Different monitor but similarly delayed… I ordered 2 monitors from the Dell website - S2421HS - on BF and got this email on Dec 10th (on order, the estimated delivery date was Dec 15th): "Thank you for your recent order with Dell. We are working to ship your order as quickly as possible. The delivery date for your order to arrive has been updated to mar. 09, 2021."

    • +1

Different model but mine took one week to arrive in Sydney after being shipped. Now another week is gone, I still haven't even got tracking information yet. Seems like Dell Australia is disorganised big time.

  • +1

Thanks to @LiMaaa, I have received my AW3821DW today!
My monitor was stuck in-transit with StarTrack since 16th Dec! (Black Friday order from ebay / Location:Perth)

Hopefully you guys will get your soon…

    • That's promising if it made its way to Perth, I'd hope SYD and melb would be handled shortly as well.

  • Interesting, my order was showing up on Dell Order Support a few weeks ago, but has since disappear with the following message:

Order not found. Please check your entry or use another lookup option.

    • +2

Try checking the order on a different browser, that's what worked for me.

      • Oh you're right. Checked on a different browser and it worked.

  • +1

    Thanks @LiMaaa,

My Dell order status had just been updated to shipped along with StarTrack tracking information.

Hopefully receive it in the next few days.

    Cheers!

    • Which model?

      • +2

        AW3821DW

    • +2

Mine too! Shipping says in transit and scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Yay! Thanks LiMaaa

  • +4

    I'm so confused.

My order didn't arrive by the estimated time of 21st December so I contacted Dell on eBay and resolved it to receive a complementary mouse and the order mid-January. Now the order has been refunded automatically despite no indications I wanted a refund and I have again contacted Dell. The order still shows shipping details on eBay and on Dell, the order is in production?

Really frustrated as I was looking forward to this ever since the day of the deal and now I don't know if my order has been cancelled in Dell's system…

    • Same here. Doesn't seem to be an isolated case.

Any idea what is going on LiMaaa?

    • Same thing here.

    • Just an update. Apparently starting a case caused the cancellation, just wanted to message Dell to find out what was happening.

Have contacted LiMaaa and Dell on eBay to repurchase the monitor but have not got any replies yet likely due to the new year holidays. Hopefully, when I repurchase it I will be able to get it this month and with the mouse!

      • Hopefully, when I repurchase it I will be able to get it this month and with the mouse!

Most likely won't be the case. I got a reply from Dell eBay Rep informing me that repurchasing the item will be treated as a new purchase, and will have a new ETA.

  • What the hell. Dell eBay just cancelled my order for the DGF's that I have been waiting for.

  • +2

After waiting a month, Dell just refunded my order without any reason/notification.

Was only made aware, when I received a PayPal email notifying me that I've received a refund from Dell.

    • Yep same here with no warning or consultation either.

      Screenshot:
      https://i.imgur.com/QAqnah2.jpg

      • Hmm did you have back and fourth conversation with ebay team, where potentially they misconstrued your desire to keep order? It's kinda odd, ngl.

        • My last message with the eBay team was that I don't mind waiting.

          • @RichardL: Did you open a 'request' or just message seller?

            • @Krogers: I believe asking the seller about your order automatically opens a request.

The last message from Dell was that my order was coming early to mid-January. Nothing about refund/cancellation.

              • @RichardL: Yeah unfortunately if you select the wrong option it opens a request. eBay forces unfamiliar buyers into this scenario and gives the seller limited time to respond so to protect themselves sellers will refund if it hasn't shipped yet. The thing about these 'requests' is that it has a negative effect on 'seller metrics' which can't be reversed. eBay takes punitive action in the way of reduced visibility or increased fees for poor metrics. Buyers need to avoid opening a request wherever possible if the situation can be resolved through messages.

                • @Krogers: Thanks, i just closed my request. Hopefully everything eventually works out, not happy though.

                • @Krogers: Looks like you were correct.

Opening a request will trigger a cancellation by Dell.

    • +1

      Update

Here's the eBay Message I received from Dell, after contacting them:

Because the case was escalated, a full refund has been issued that also resulted for the order to be cancelled on our end.

Unfortunately, we have no way to reverse it as the transaction has now been considered as closed by eBay. Nonetheless, we checked this with our Head Office and we have been informed that we can arrange for you to repurchase the item, still with the 20% off. This will be treated as a new order. Let us know if you wish to proceed.

      We'll see what happens…

      • I will most likely be seeing this reply too. I got the 'eBay refunded you' message today.

      • +1

        Update 2

Repurchasing the item will be treated as a new purchase, and will have a new ETA.

Looks like I'll be waiting a few more months…

        • Update 3

          Received a new Order Number.

          In Production: Jan 15, 2021
Shipped: Estimated Ship Date: Feb 17, 2021
Delivered: Estimated to Arrive By: Feb 20, 2021

          Yay…another month of waiting…

          • @RichardL:

            Update 4

Invoice received this morning with a new Startrack Tracking ID and currently On Board for Delivery.

            Just delivered.

  • +1

Wow. Mine hasn’t been cancelled. Yet.

Pray this is stuff up and monitors still come. A refund at this stage just doesn’t cut it.

  • Maybe you're gonna get refund AND the monitors?

    • +2

      A complementary monitor?

      • Maybe? I don't know, it seems unfair if they cancel so late after waiting, through 3 pivotal sales periods

        • I'm sure the cancellation is a misunderstanding, I assure you Dell won't just cancel for no reason, could easily just continue the wait. Those who got cancelled and/or refunded against your wishes, hit me up with a dm, order number ect. Please include model of item you ordered and deal link you ordered from.

  • Thank you @LiMaaa, my order has now changed to shipped and due today!

Much appreciated for the follow up and your assistance during the holidays.

    • Awesome to hear and no worries.

  • +11

I don’t understand why people who ordered 2 weeks later already have there monitor while most of us who ordered on the BF deal haven’t even shipped for the dgf model. This is disappointing to say the least.

    • +10

      Because Dell DGaF about us

    • Dell had a lot of negative reviews on their site for their previous sale, they might be trying avoid a repeat of that by giving orders from Dell site higher priority?

    • +1

DGF has an ETA of Jan 14th so I'm unsure why other purchase avenues affect you when the ETA was always specified?

      • Hopefully it comes before Jan 14th then.

        • It didnt lol

  • +9

For those still waiting from the Black Friday deal, are your status updates same as mine?

    My eBay page says:
    estimated delivery 14-23rd December
    (“Tracking provided”)

    Dell tracking site: “in production”
    “estimated ship date 25th Jan”

Most others in same boat/same status??

    • Yep, wouldn't look into it too much. Still sticking by Jan 15 eta given by LiMaaa

    • It’s feb 1st for me.

  • Did anyone else notice that the small thread in computing about these late deliveries has been deleted? Call me a tin-foil hat wearing sceptic but I feel that there's some damage control going on from Dell's marketing.

    • +1

You may be a tin foil wearing sceptic, but you aren’t alone.

    • +1

That's nothing to do with Dell, I assure you haha.

  • +1

Honestly feel bad for LiMaaa with everybody here complaining non stop about not having a monitor that has a 14th of Jan eta. All the delivery dates were provided to you before purchase via the original deal post.

    • Agreed. The ETA's are still in the original post lol

      • It is just bizarre, who drops $470 on a monitor and doesn't look through the post, previous deals of this nature or even LiMaa's history on the site.

        • wth did this get downvoted to oblivion

          • @waade395: Because we are talking about them!

            • @Fooah: What's my history on the site have to do with anything? P.S. I can't downvote ^^

        • +6

I think people are misinterpreting this maybe? I took it as, why aren't people doing their research into these type of deals as there's an expectation of a waiting period. I honestly bought the DGF expecting to be waiting a month or so.

          • +3

@pjammies: @LiMaaa your history on this site is you are transparent with delivery times and stock available. Which is no different to this deal. Pjammies is on the money.

    • +4

It might be because of Dell's misinformation and having the 25th of Jan on their website for a lot of orders. Or I even saw a comment saying this:

**** I contacted Dell they sent me the fulfillment dates along with the number of units.

      12/30,18
      12/30,63
      1/6,27
      1/11,36
      1/22,216 ****

This would have me assume that at least half of the dgf units won't make it on time.

  • +1

My AW3821DW arrived yesterday (31/12/2020) thank you LiMaaa. Although I haven't had much chance to use it yet, I have already noticed how buttery the move from 60Hz to 144Hz is in Windows alone. I am really happy with the monitor itself so far, thank you.

  • +6

Ebay is asking for feedback for my Dell 27 DGF monitor … ( Me …. looks at my empty desk and wondering when santa (AUSPOST) is going to bring it)

    • +1

Well Santa is blue = StarTrack

  • +1

Hi LiMaaa, I received my AW38 from the ebay sale a few days before xmas. Somehow I've have just managed to crack the screen with a slight slip and minimal pressure with my thumb while adjusting the tilt angle.

I'm beyond devastated and have already reached out to dell support to see if I can get it repaired. I just thought I'd reach out to you and see if there was anyway you could assist with paid repair or whatnot? Either way I do appreciate the deal

Guys be careful, the pressure I applied was tiny. I've never even cracked a phone screen before :(

    • +1

Hope they help you out. From my experience Dell are ruthless (I have a $3,000 XPS 15 4K laptop brick infront of me).

Let us know how you go.

      • +1

Thanks mate, that doesn't sound good. I hope they'll offer something. Was honest about it & the dell rep seemed sympathetic.
It arrived on the 22/12 I went away on the 24-31/12 and broke it on the 1/1….

Terrible start to what was supposed to be a better year. GL with the notebook!

        • Some credit card have insurance

      • +1

Just an update, Dell is refusing to warranty (which I never asked for!) and there is no possible paid option for repair.

Only solution is to buy a new monitor.
I'm following up with my insurer and the ACCC (in regards to no chance at paid repair and the fragility of the lcd)

I just want to repeat how fragile these curved lcd's are guys, without exaggerating.. A sturdy ant would've survived the pressure I accidently put on the panel to adjust the tilt.

In addition, I hate myself but I still love LiMaaa for the opportunity to own one of these guys for a couple weeks.
        Thanks again

        • +1

Oh bummer man, not sure what the ACCC can do when it’s not dell’s fault but good luck mate.
I’m still waiting for my day 1 dead pixel monitor to be replaced, but given the delays others have faced I’ll just wait it out…dell have been pretty good so far with updates etc

          • @bowtiehoon: Dell is completely not at fault. Would've thought doing the right thing, taking 100% blame seems reasonable to be able to buy a new panel/repair? Just a real bummer man.

I guess my question to the ACCC revolves around the legalities selling a brand new effectively $2k+ product with no option for paid repairs at all. I don't know any other consumer products in this price range that has no option for repair what so ever. Doesn't help it cracked like an eggshell, if all else fails ill do a YT vid to show how easily these things crack. Since for some reason I can't leave a review on their site.

I'm not out for freebies or anything just some other option aside from paying $2250 and waiting another few months.

            Thanks for letting me vent.

            • +1

@consoles4fun: Followup from the ACCC in case anyone is interested

Your rights: spare parts and repair facilities

Manufacturers must provide spare parts and repair facilities for a reasonable time after purchase. This applies even if you did not purchase the goods directly from the manufacturer.

This guarantee does not apply if the manufacturer or seller tells you when you buy the product that repairs and spare parts will be available for only a limited time.

If the manufacturer is overseas and does not have a place of business in Australia, the business that imports the goods is considered to be the manufacturer.

Fixing a problem: what the manufacturer must do

If a manufacturer does not take steps to ensure that spare parts and repair facilities are available, they should compensate you for any:

              drop in the product’s value
losses caused by the lack of spare parts or repair facilities
costs associated with returning the product.

The seller does not have to fix a problem relating to spare parts and repair facilities.

              • +1

@consoles4fun: Is that for warranty claims?

                • +1

@bowtiehoon: No this is for paid repair of an item I accidently broke. I talked to the ACCC and explained the whole situation.

EDIT- example would be a smartphone repair, all manufacturers offer a paid repair or replacement option if you break your 2 week old phone screen etc.

No doubt I'm an absolute dingus! But a manufacturer saying "only option is to buy a new one" isn't really acceptable in my view. I guess it's the law & vibe right?

                  • @consoles4fun: Not sure if comparing a smartphone is fair, wouldn’t it be be like if you busted a tv screen? The cost of a shipping, new panel and labour/repair would not be worth it I’d imagine.
Hopefully your credit card insurance covers it!

                    • @bowtiehoon: Perhaps you're right, but the point is the cost of a panel has to be less than a whole new unit. This broken monitor surley has some value to dell, I presume this is how the refurb pool is established along with the ones received doa or damaged in transit etc. They repair & use those.

I just really don't understand why I haven't been offered $x and swap over.

That's all I'm asking for and I'm sure that it's not impossible or unreasonable.

                    • @bowtiehoon: Wanted to do a final follow up for anyone interested.
Dell has re-reviewed and refused to help in anyway aside $20.50 off the price of a new monitor. Have said bring it on to any ACCC complaints etc.

Moral of the story is NEVER admit fault and hope a company will help you out for being honest.

"It arrived like this" all day, everyday..

    • +1

No way I can really assist with this as it goes through a different department, but I suggest explaining you got in on the deal, there were delays, which is why the mouse was thrown in and ask them to consider using the panel exchange procedure to help you out. Hopefully they take that all into account and sort you out.

      • Alright, thanks for the tip man.

  • Just got a reply from Dell eBay about the DGF, They said it's delayed due to covid (they didn't outright say it, rather referred to "challenging times") and if I'm happy to wait for the monitor they will give me a complimentary gaming mouse. Of course i accepted.

    • +1

I've also filled in an enquiry form, but they only replied the following without offering any mouse…

      *Good Day!

I apologize for the inconvenience caused

      In reference to the order#

The part is under shortage due to high demand.

I have requested the concerned/ Buyer to expedite the fulfillment.

However I will be on top of this order to ensure the fulfillment

I shall follow up with the stakeholders and ensure the order is expedited, will keep you updated on the progress .

Please write back to me for any further queries, I am more than happy to assist you.
      Roopa*

      • Got the exact same copy and paste message too.

    • Did you open a request, when you asked the question?

If so, Dell/eBay will automatically trigger a cancellation and a refund on your order.

      • +1

Yeah i did and i then read here about the cancellations so i cancelled the request, a few days later they messaged me with the offer. They just got back to me again saying the mouse will ship separately to the monitor and they will advise me of when each item has shipped..

        • Nice.

          Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky.

  • +1

    Yep Alienware 310M

  • Messaged Dell through their website to avoid any ebay disputes or whatever .

Got told my monitor will be here by the 11th, happy with that.

  • +2

Thanks for contacting DELL. Your order has been DELLeted!

  • +1

So people who ordered DGF are getting a complimentary mouse if they message via EBAY. Will that come if we don’t message via EBAY?

    • I (and a few others above) messaged via Ebay and just got a stock standard response, no offer to speak of. Looking on the bright side though, at least they didn't cancel my order. >.>

      • I also go the offer after messaging them to change the delivery address last weekend

    • +1

well I got the offer. I messaged like 2 weeks ago

  • Patiently waiting for the S2721DGF - they said 5th-12th with expectations leaning towards the 12th - has anyone else set-up their monitor yet? Thoughts?

    • Mine shipped yesterday via Startrack Express.

      • Yeah! :D as mentioned earlier in the comments, I was able to use the eBay shipping tracking number “ORDERNOxx” where the Xxs are the numbers - and I googled dell order tracking - put in the numbers and have the StarTrack number - and it’s coming today!

        Super keen :D

  • I got an invoice today from dell for the dgf . No shipping info mentioned. Does it mean it will be shipped soon? Will I receive a separate tracking number when shipped? Thanks.

    • I randomly checked the Dell order status page yesterday and saw that mine had just shipped via Startrack with link to tracking page. I got the invoice email today.

      • Mine hasnt shipped. But my ship date has reduced to Jan 12. So thats something good.
