  • Without cooler. Not a good deal

    • +3

Or they can charge an extra $30 for a cooler people won't use anyway?

      • I doubt they would be able to provide a cooler sufficient for this for $30, which is probably why they didn't include one.

Even people with a Noctua NH-D15, Dark Rock 4 Pro and even AIOs have issues with this hot chip.

Just this chip or 59xx too

    • Pm me :)

    Waiting for 5900x

    • I'm sorry but waiting for what?

  • -1

on aliexpress its $680 plus free delivery

    • +2

      that's before gst

  • Managed to get it yesterday for $707 (including credit card surcharge) but with Tap&Zip got it for 686. I cant believe all of the 500 series have gone up buy a lot

  • Cheaper from shopping express $739+ delivery

  • This or i5 10600KF?

    • That's less than half the price….

    • +2

If only playing games, i5 10600KF is much cheaper and has fairly similar performance.

If for multicore work, Ryzen 7 5800X obliterates the i5 and similar Intel chips

      • Thank you for let me know this.

I have a ryzen 5 2400G on Asus b450m.my PC has compatibility problem with AMD Vega graphic
win10 drivers, only can work on the oldest 2018 version driver.I must disable Windows auto update, or I can't enter Windows after it updated Vega 11 driver for me.I spent 3 days to find out what leads to the problem, i even installed win7 to 10 for testing.

I think getting AMD platform may be risky.

        • Do you have a GPU?

        • AMD destroys Intel, but maybe go for the Ryzen 5 5600X as that is more comparable to the i5 10600KF.

If you are worried about AMD graphics drivers, keep in mind this chip doesn't have an integrated GPU so you can buy an nvidia card and avoid their graphics drivers entirely.

        • +1

AMD have a long history of driver problems with their graphics cards. This has nothing to do with their CPUs which are well supported generally.

In your case wirh an integrated GPU, I would suggest to look for a nvidia 1650 super (ideally around $200). It has the best price/performance in the market.

What? I bought this new for $699 on release, since when have the price of these gone up?

      Capitalism for the win!

      • -5

        Supply and demand doofus.
Capitalism is actually a wonderful thing.
All other systems of organising the economy ultimately rely on brute force as being the only way to accumulate wealth.
However, miraculously, under capitalism you can accumulate wealth by providing value to your fellow human beings.
Under pure capitalism - providing value to fellow human beings is the only way to accumulate wealth. (We do not have pure capitalism, unfortunately)
This is such a miracle because if everybody spends all their time trying to provide value to one another, everyone benefits and everybody's living standards rise - so much more than under other economic systems such as socialism.
Please do not perpetuate the misguided postmodern fad of denigrating capitalism. Capitalism is one of the top 5 forces for good in the world.

        • +1

Under pure capitalism, everyone needs to be an always-truthful, completely rational and communicative human being, that absorbs all presented information identical to other humans. That's a fantasy, and only taught that way so people understand the fundamental concepts.

Pure capitalism is as much a delusion as any other 'pure' ideology, and the brute force approach creeps in there when people are allowed to accumulate enormous amounts of wealth and then change their thought process to defend their empire, i.e. a monopoly. Not everyone does this, of course, but it only takes 1 or 2 to set the dominoes in motion.

Feel free to step out into the world and discover why 10-20 hours of lectures on the subject do not provide adequate space for an understanding of how to structure markets, though I'm assuming you're not regurgitating the works of some dimwit like Jordan Peterson.

          • -1

@jasswolf: Ummm no? Under capitalism everyone doesn’t need to be an always-truthful, completely rational and communicative human being, that absorbs all presented information identical to other humans… that is only necessary under a command economy.
In a capitalist economy, the mechanism of the variable price signal collects and aggregates all information and communicates it rationally and truthfully.

@Gamer Dad Reviews: Mate, they're both dumb and rely on ideal and omnipotent humans to function efficiently in the long run. Stop.

    • Yes, I agree, not a deal. I paid the same on release day.

    • Same here, grabbed one launch night for $699.

I don't like how hot it gets though, I might sell it at some point and get a 5900X

  • Was showing as in stock for $699 on centrecom last night, but now also $749 !
PLE supposedly getting stock today and still priced at $699.

  • Completely negates the Far Cry 6 offer on an already questionably competitive CPU vs the 5900x price/performance.

  • This has been available on pccasegear site for the last two weeks. I guess consumers have drawn a line when it comes to increasing prices on already overpriced CPUs. Personally, I think it's not worth buying this. This CPU will be $600 in 3-4 weeks when more stock comes in.

I've never complaint about people posting RRP for difficult to find items but this is an additional $50 on the price. You have to draw the line somewhere. This is not a bargain.

    • so $50 is the line is that for all goods or just those that are $700ish. What about goods that are $2000, $3000?

  • +4

    lol @ this post

just because its in stock doesnt mean its a deal. it's 10% more expensive too.

  • +1

Slightly cheaper on amazon and free delivery but backorder. Can combine with discounted GCs.

This is $50 over rrp and have to pay for shipping, scalpers

And PCCG customer service lately is shithouse

      • +1

Agreed. Their customer service has definitely gone downhill. Used to purchase from them even at a premium because they were always excellent to deal with. No longer a customer of theirs.

      • Lately?

  • Was in stock on Amazon US like 2 days ago for $600AUD

    • about $665 on Amazon UK like 2 days ago.

  • I really want to upvote you to prove how useless having this become OzInStock is but higher than rrp and other options out there.

  • I placed my order on PLE at 699 for Jan 6th stock and going to by a cooler during boxing day.
