        Nope. eBay became majority shareholder and they then made it a subsidiary. They’re no longer a subsidiary as of 5 years ago.

              @wekimekigugudan: when you attempt to spend them, the unspent amount is linked to your ebay account (only useable via paypal).

              I spent it all but got a refund and it's just attached to my account.

      what is the benefit of not using paypal?

      paypal got 180 days buyer protection, free return shipping etc.

      ebay only gives you 60 days, and you need ebay plus for other benefits..

        Yep, it might actually be unchecked by default.

        If you're buying from a seller who has already joined eBay managed payments I assume you'll still be covered under buyer protection as well.

        Yep, just apply the coupon and then apply the gift card to cover the full amount and it'll work fine.

      eBay will still sort it out.

      The slow deincentivising of PayPal doesn't mean anything for consumers. eBay still have their guarantee.

      In fact, I'm pretty sure their dispute system has ignored PayPal's for a while now, anyway.

    I really needed the $10 voucher for an item I am watching. I can't find the email for two of my accounts. Tried to add the card and TAKE10OFF voucher, as expected didn't work.

      I think you’re account is not eligible. I used it with the whole balance paid by gift card like suggested above. But my account was targeted targeted.
