S2721Q/QS for now, but do know the following:

          • The monitor's default setting (to save power) has HDR turned off. You need to turn it on for HDR to appear.
          • HDR400 is generally a gimmick, more than proper HDR so you may find some games look better on SDR.
          • Even if Sony later on decided to support VRR, this monitor's HDMI doesn't support VRR properly.

The following additional point apply to Series X:

          • While PS5 doesn't give you that many options on colour depth and HDR, Series X gives you quite a few. By default, Series X (and that includes XBox One X) actually doesn't use the best optimal settings for this monitor. That default setting will make you feel the HDR looks worse than SDR. You do have to tune the settings.

          Looking forward:

          • HDMI 2.1 support on future monitors would be great, but at this price point, it is unrealistic right now. However, that might change a year or two down the track. 4K/60 HDR 4:4:4 requires HDMI 2.1 (and for the moment, strangely, Series X doesn't support that mode - though at 120Hz 4:4:4 is possible - HDMI 2.1 mandatory of course).

Got mine (S2721Q) from the last deal and couldn't be happier with them.

My friends say the mounting may be a little ghetto, but for $7 from Bunnings I'm not complaining.

(if you want to minimize the bezel like this you need to modify the stand slightly because they won't rotate 360 degrees)

    • Duct tape, indispensable!

    • +1

Can i ask why you don't have them side by side?

      • +1

I wanted to minimize desk space usage and I prefer a horizontal black line to a vertical one.
I did try them out side by side in portrait mode (similar desk footprint) but didn't really like it.

    • The one above is going to have a headache.

    • Did they deliver that fast?
I suppose the last deal was only less than 2 weeks ago.

Must not have been the last deal, sorry (I don't have alerts on them anymore). Delivery took 25 days, eBay.

    • What do you think of the white uniformity of your two? Do you notice any patches of magenta/green/blue tints when looking at white or grey backgrounds? Nifty setup btw.

      • +1

They're not identical. The one that is the right way up on the bottom seems very slightly greener than the one which is upside-down on the top on a pure-white screen. There aren't any patches / swatches of colour, the whole lower screen has a very faint green tint when compared to the upper.

They're both running in 'standard' mode, I haven't bothered trying different modes or calibrating; and for me the screen real estate and sharpness is the most important thing… if I'm looking around for something to do one day, I might have a crack at calibrating…

        • Interesting! I received mine and tried fixing the color best I could with Nvidia's control panel (most notably tone down the saturation to 96%). It's a bit off compared to my sRGB phone but passable for hobby work. I noticed there's a bit of a warm/pinkish hue coming from the upper corners of mine that goes away as I move my head towards each corner (but the warm hue becomes larger on the other side), kind of like ips glow but for white/grey backgrounds? Kind of weird but I guess it's a quirk with larger led displays.

  • Do these monitors have recessed or non recessed mounts?

    • +5

if it's too low employ phone book technology to raise it

  • What would be the best way to screen cast from my phone to this monitor?

    • +1

chromecast or something similar depending on the phone

  • Looking at the long delivery times, I'm happy I managed to order the S2721QS from the Dell outlet last week… I got the same for the wife last year and she's very happy with it.

  • Is this S2721Q (4K) $324.84 better deal than the S2721DS (2K) $287.20 ($280.02 ebay plus) - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/600086 ?
but not as good as this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/582646

  • Bought the S2721Q (4K) under this deal on 26th Jan 2021. Just saw that it's on board for delivery to me (Melbourne) on 1st Feb 2021. I'm pretty surprised! It had an estimated delivery date of 16th Feb 2021 when I ordered it.

    • I ordered on 22th Jan and will be delivered to SA on 2nd Feb. Impressed!

    • my order placed on 11/01/21, ETA 21/02/21, nothing change yet
      what a shame.

    • Delivered today (1st Feb) as stated!

  • Ordered one on 27 Jan, order status said "In Production" for days, today I check, it says "Delivered". I look, nowhere to be seen. They say "Delivered at 15:39" - hmm, somebody was home at that time, so who has my monitor?? I logged a support ticket with Dell, will see how that goes…

    • Did you receive a delivery slip in the post box / check the startrack status? I had an attempted delivery and it was taken back to the depot, but the Dell site marked it as delivered.

      • Nope, nothing in the postbox.
And this delivery is through some courier company I've never heard of, dbschenker.com

        • Not sure what's going on then, hope you get your delivery soon!

        • And this delivery is through some courier company I've never heard of, dbschenker.com

dbschenker is the delivery partner for Dell
If you have your Dell order number, put it in Startrack's track and trace
You can also try this ETA tool thing

          • @cwongtech: So the order arrived today just before 5pm. No explanation on why it said Delivered yesterday, or anything, just, here's a delivery.
Anyway, it's here, it's plugged in, and I only have a 1050Ti connected to it, next step, upgrade the GFX card :-D

  • Delivered today.
However the box is old and looks like it was repacked and returned.
Does anyone have the same issue?

    • My one (ordered through employee discount) had the seal broken but the box was intact, but your box looks like it may have gone through delivery abuse.

      How are the contents inside?
