    Aerospace grade aluminum

    When words mean nothing..

It means such quality that Boeing uses it for the 737 Max.

And for cans of Pepsi Max!

    • Yeah, but it sounds good…aerospace….wow!

      It's probably 6061-T6

I bought this for same price from JB a month ago.

Quite happy with my purchase. Bought it specifically to get to the gym and back during lunch hour. 2km each way takes less than 6 mins now. Maintains 25 km/h easily even at 15% climb through my route. Very easy to store at home and even at the gym.

Only downside is tiny wheels and lack of suspensions. Ride is really bumpy and you have to be really cautious with uneven roads. I hope future versions will have suspensions.

I live in Vic and I have ridden past police a few times. So far so good but if one is having a bad day, then this could get you a fine.

    • Only if you ride on the footpath right? 200w Max if on footpath.. Can you ride it on the road?

      • +3

It’s not street legal in Vic, footpath or road. Apparently government is considering introducing law to make them street legal by May but for now you could get a fine for riding this in public.

        • +1

Where did you obtain this info from??

        • Apparently government is considering introducing law

For the last couple of years…

        • What's the difference between these scooters and the commercial ones rented and used everywhere these days? If people use helmets and follows the road rules, why wouldn't they let them use them legally, while the commercial ones are legal? I am not sure about other states but here in Adelaide those rented ones are everywhere these days.

Can you ride it on the road?

In Melbourne, you can ride it in your house or backyard.

Kids are sick of going around in circles for the last 12 months.

    • @o2saint How do you make sure it doesn't get stolen at the gym? Like how do you lock it?

      • This is small enough to take it inside. I just leave it at the gym locker/ bag shelves area. It’s usually within my line of sight but I suppose if someone took it at least it would be on the camera and one has to be a member to be inside.

      • How do you make sure it doesn't get stolen

You can put a chain through the back wheel.

        • +8

          Correction:

You can put a chain through the back wheel.

    • Invest into good motorcycle helmet that protects your face, esp. nose, teeth and chin.

    • When you ride to the gym, do you ride on footpaths or road?

      • They carry it on their bike.

    • 2km each way takes less than 6 mins now

Whoa - that seems crazy fast, once you account for crossings, etc.

If only they were legal in NSW…

  • Wait, their usual price is $1199?! Thats rediculous, I'd go a v1 at half the price, thanks.

    • +2

      This one is for professionals…

    • Hmm, I paid under $600 back in 2018 for my non-pro version of M365.

    • I know it's almost ridiculous.

  • They had it a week ago with the free pump for this price

      Any deals on time machines?

  • Lmao this reminds me of my scootcity Segway order @@ 2 months ago ….

    • A month and a half ago lol

  • they are illegal in NSW

    • +4

I see so many of them on the streets and paths these days that the government has lost any hope of regulating them.

Ridesharing, Vaping, Personal Mobility Devices … just one more thing to add to the list of government failures. Guess they're too busy doing backroom deals with property developers to do any real work.

Totally fine to do rorting of bushfire funds too..

I guess we should accept that this is federal and just a different chapter of the crime family.

    • I used to ride my one around the CBD area before the pandemic. Had no issues. I was on the lookout for motorcycle cops though.

Sign the petition to have electric modes of transport legal in your state.

    https://electricriders.org.au/petition

  • Are these legal in QLD?

  • Recently have had people going really fast close to me when I go for a walk on the foot path. As it's really quiet, you can hardly hear it approching it from behind.

Wonder whether there has been any major injuries from collisions?

They will bring in legislation once a child gets seriously hurt from colliding with one.

I love these but they should have some noise or some warning so I can get out the way (and hail the king kong) when his/her majesty rides past me.

    • Riders should be slowing down when approaching pedestrians or at least give some audible warning if risk of collision. Most of them have a bell or horn included.

They will bring in legislation once a child gets seriously hurt from colliding with one.

Yes, they should be ringing their bell as they approach, same rules as bikes.

      There have been PLENTY actually.
And it was discussed in QLD at one point, at a few of the public town meetings (if anyone else attends regularly).

It was decided not to push for any more restrictions, because even with the HUGE popularity of them, between LIME and NEURON + privately owned ones; the incidents involving bicycles still far outnumbered scooters in metro areas. (and Scooters, numerically, outnumber bikes, in those very inner-city areas too).
They already have identical rules to bicycles, plus a few others (you can get approved tandem bikes, but not scooters, for example).

Basically, I think they realized that green transport is seen as a good thing (even if you hate them on the roads, lol); so making bikes and scooters harder to ride would be a bad idea; especially around reducing congestion.

      • Interesting. Yes totally agree with Green stuff. I guess we shall see how it evolves.

With the recent incident, Two people who were walking in front of my got tally spooked when they hooned past them!

Other issue is pedestrians and riders wearing ear phones.

        • +1

Yeah but good luck legislating pedestrians can't wear earphones.

There are levels where if you're the vulnerable one, and you take away one of your senses voluntarily, we're not going to legislate against your chosen risk.

The rider wearing earphones won't stop them ringing a bell, nor will it drown out a car horn.
