Why do you always say OTT Shopback boosting comments? Irony? Shill?

      • -1

Stick it to 'em Shopback, keep rippin on that other mob

  • +5

At least this offer is clear what qualifies for which tier of cashback. Not 5% for general merchandise and 15% for “other”…. who wrote up that particular vague-as-all-hell offer, the work experience kid?!?

    • My myer purchase didn't even track yet. Did yours?

      • As I said on the thread way to go was 10% giftcard off for the sake of after GST 3.5% more risking it with SB:)

      • Didn’t even try. Would have been like a blind grab not knowing what’s valid for what. Decided wasn’t worth risking and having to return the goods, etc.

  • +5

Thanks OP, does cashback work for items sold by Amazon US?

    • Would also like to know this :)

    • +3

Technically, there should be no reason why it shouldn't.
"Amazon US" is just treated as another seller on Amazon AU.

  • +2

For avoidance of any doubt, can someone confirm that apparel means anything under the "Clothing, Shoes & Accessories" area on Amazon?

  • +4

Big, big warning to any upsized cash back deal with Shopback. Would not recommend.

Look at comments from almost every other deal from Shopback.

    • +1

Dang @ the amount of upvotes and downvotes

      • +3

F ShopBack, they screwed over All your personal information

        • They sure did last year, and owned up really late.

    • +2

Yup - click bait and never happens!

  • +9

Never had a problem with anything on shopback except with Amazon deals, as Amazon always change the qualifying categories before the cashback goes through so it's always rejected.

    • And also they like to put some items under wrong category. headache.

  • +1

I want to believe I will get the cash back…

    • +2

      I want to believe too.

      • Don't worry mate, at least I got your hammer skin :)

  • Probably a stupid question but where would I find discounted amazon gift cards?

    • +1

You could open an account with Macquarie, they have them for 3% off

    • Suncorp

  • +45

I am going to neg this, I just login to my account and found they have rejected all of my purchases made on the single day last year. $110 worth. Same with my partner account. I suggest you guys check transaction made on the 11.11.2020 last year and see if yours was rejected also.

Why neg me? Do I have to show you guys screenshots or something? All 11 transaction was rejected.

    • +7

I haven't negged you. How the hell does this happen?
It seems the main culprit of cashback rejections on this forum is ShopBack.

After reading all the horror stories from other OzBargainers, I now shy away from SB for any serious cashback, even if their rates were 5% - 10% better than CR.

      • +15

Same, I will only use CR from now.

        • I am guessing you have already reached out to SB for an explanation. Please do let us know how that pans out.
From experience, SB customer support do take forever to get back, and sometimes they do need a nudge or two.

Obviously, there were no issues with tracking. So, I can imagine how pissed off you would be if you followed all the rules.

          • +2

@DoctorCalculon: I just emailed them, see what they come back with. I will update when I know

            • +4

              @Aerith-Waifu: I had a rejection too.

Posted about it in a previous deal where gotyourback asked to be PM’ed about it.

I PM’ed him and got no reply.

            • +1

@Aerith-Waifu: Probably you have to wait for another week for them to contact you. :(

      • @DoctorCalculon what is CR please? Just trying out these cashbacks for the first time and don't want to bother with ShopBack if it's no good.

    • +5

Yep, I missed 20% cashback on $240 adidas order made at the start of the year. Never using it again.

    • +3

Checked mine and they were also rejected on the 11/11/20

    • +3

Yep same happened to me. All my 11.11.2020 transactions with Aliexpress got rejected.

      • +1

Same here. Replying so I can neg…

    • I use the SB app exclusively and have excellent success. That success rate drops with a desktop.

Do you have any other extensions that may interfere, such as Honey? Some extensions obviously block correct function of SB and CR, but some are disguised as bargain or savings extensions. They're are really just creating referral links. That's how they make money - less transparency.

      I always buy items individually.

    • +1

Same had a lot of big rejection on the 11.11.2020 as well.
Not worth the time and effort to chase up.

    • I have no issues with my purchases that made on 11.11 and the whole Nov. $180+ transferred to my bank account today. Saying this, I still have roughly $200 rejected for no reason and $500 or so on pending but good to have something back for a few clicks.

    • Same, my aliexpress upsized cashback got rejected on that day and yes I did double check that it was from an affiliated seller. It tracked all fine, just got rejected when it came to approval.

  • +13

last time they had a bonus cashback for uniqlo my purchase apparently didn’t track. They send the same generic email about why it doesn’t track. I had purchased through the app. There’s no way it wouldn’t have tracked.
Also a booking.com purchase for $900 didn’t get tracked either. such Bullshit

  • +47

    Total scammers

    1. I made purchases on an offer with Amazon/Shopback featured on OzB
    2. The purchases did not track
    3. I emailed them, and after requested supplied receipts
    4. They told me evertyhing I ordered was ineligible despite most things should be eligible
    5. I asked them why and questioned specific items
    6. They ignored me for a long time (months) including to the point where I just stopped waiting and sent a message every single day for over a month without any reply
    7. I posted on OzB about my experience
    8. A Shopback rep requested I message them with details and they said they would get the team in contact
    9. They messaged me once and said they had approved some of my purchases but only a few dollars and didnt say which ones were approved and which were not
    10. I asked them to provide details of which ones were rejected and accepted
    11. They ignored me, I asked the guy who contacted me on Ozb whats going on and he said they will contact me
    12. They ignored me. This has been going on since October

    Good luck!

    • +3

      Oof, that's bad!

      • +1

They rejected one of mine too… They replied with a vague reasoning. I just couldn't be bothered chasing them further as it will be of no use and it was clear they would say anything to not pay up

    • +1

How much in total cashback are you missing?

  • +7

So much cashback missing as well from Shopback. Will stop using them

  • +3

    Thanks dealbot!
Finally pulled the trigger; bought a Vostok Amphibia.
BTW, no sign of tracking yet.

    • I don't understand why I got negged!
It was only a 'thank you' post.

      • Yeah I don't understand the neg either. I upvoted to bring you back to neutral.

Maybe you can let us know if/when it tracks?

      • +1

I've noticed a lot of negging clowns since last year. Least they could do is give an explanation.

    • Update, seems; it has tracked.
      But, certainly not at 25%.
Surprisingly, Vostok is under clothing and shoes.
Even then it should have been 25%.
$95.45 (excl. Gst and postage), cashback $5.73.
      Apparently 6%.
      Go figure out.

  • +2

So the $25 cap is Nike only, right? The 25% CB makes quite a few watches very attractive on Amazon

    • i would like to know this also… i want to purchase a $189 item

      • gshock to be specific

    • Same, there is no mention of a cap on the shopback website.

  • +10

Either they won't track or reject it.

  • Dumb question but how do you know if an item is eligible for cash back?

  • Never had an issue with Shopback and Amazon. Will see how it goes this time.

  • Is this only on certain brands? 25% cashback on smart watches would be good.

    • +2

Smart watches are Tech. Be careful.

  • I am hoping this 25% will also be applicable for smart watches.

  • +3

Have had either constant non tracking with the app, or later denials for no reason. Given up on Amazon cash back with ShopBack.

  • My biggest problem is, not getting cashback everytime, unless turn off Antivirus or make payment on a unprotected browser!

    • What browser 'protection' are you adding when buying something at Amazon.com.au?

  • +5

Do not get sucked into it. This firm does not pay! Go with Cash Rewards, it may be less but you get something back as oppose to nothing.

    • +1

Same, too many Cashback issues here!

  • +1

I’ve always purchased through ShopBack, basically since they started in Australia and I’ve never had any real issues until recently.

But both mine and my wife’s AliExpress Flash Sale order were rejected. We had 11 orders in total and ALL were rejected. All our other none flash sale orders a week before and a week after tracked fine, but not the Flash Sale.

My first major issue was back in August when a purchase of $199USD somehow didn’t track even though 3 other sale done at the same time did as well as every other AliExpress purchase last year. They flat out refused to claim I put in too.

I’m going to be watching all my Flash Sales as well as every other ShopBack transaction very closely from now on and will stop using ShopBack if this kind of business is going to happen.

  • +8

Never dealing with these people again. They didn't track a big purchase of mine (never responded the case I raised of course) and rejected many others.

  • +9

ALL of my 11.11 AliExpress got rejected. Every single one.

    Shopback go f yourself.

    • +2

I just went back and checked mine, it has been removed. Not under my account history at all. I have the tracking email. Something dodgy there. Obviously wasnt paid for it.

  • +1

I bought two identical items two days apart, part of their spend $10 get 2.50 on the 12th and 14th this month.

One tracked no problem, second didn’t track at all. Bought the same way, same device, on their app. Shows the inconsistency of their tracking. Hopefully my request comes thru.

  • +11

I think it's time shopback were banned from ozb.

    • +2

I think any "cashback" company should be shunned by the community. The effort needed to track yourself on purchases made (keeping screenshots, some even resorted to taking videos) and then going through manual claim process and rejection is just not worth it. Admittedly, I've never had a purchase on SB not track or rejected but has had to go through a few manual claims and rejections by CR. (Using the same PC and browser). Even so, I've paid less attention to all these "cashback" offers as it is just not worth it and if the whole or majority of OzB community follows suit, then retailers will be likely to drop these companies as partners and just provide straight forward deals.

  • Will apple watch consider as a watch…
And will they part of this deal.
    That will be amazing.

  • Took the plunge on a Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. Let's see how this goes.

    • +3

but that's in the Electronics category.

      • -8

I will fight them to the death and argue it's a watch. We'll see what happens. If it doesn't work I'll email Amazon and try get them to give me a voucher cause found it on Dick Smith for $425 when Amazon has it for $469.

        • +7

          Just cancel the order .
Don't you read the comments that SB are non responsive except for the generic email .
Besides that you purchased from the wrong category .

          • @popsiee: Cancelled order. Just went and price beat with Officeworks. Last watch in stock so didn't have to wait.

          • @popsiee: I just got an email from shopback for a return of $17.05. It's a lot less than the 25% but it was something back.

        • In the Terms & Conditions it says: "Smartwatches, Non-Echo Devices with Alexa, Echo Device Accessories & Monitor are included under Electronics Category"

  • +7

My BWS ($30) cashback didn't track either. Didn't bother to send email as I will not be using them anymore. Scu.bags.

  • +11

Don't trust these scumbags. Can OzB please hurry up and ban these sleaze merchants?

  • +7

Not worth the risk - too many failed attempts for me

  • New shopback user here.

Where are you guys seeing 25% caschback written? All I see is "UP TO 25%" and no more information, which is very ominous. I'm needing some apparel but if it's UP TO 25% and might be 0.25% then it's not worth it.

    Thoughts?

    • +1

It clearly lists the different categories and their percentages below that.

  • +12

It's funny how people still use shopback after the hacking incident.

Look at other deals they post and look at all the positives. People still use them. I deleted my account as soon as the hack happened.

    • +7

They also pay fake accounts to leave them good reviews online.

    • +1

Yeah, especially when all people affected (without exception it seems) received the same scam phone calls. Some people had their Paypal account hacked if the same email address was used. In my case, they didn't manage to get in, but they tried often enough for Paypal to apply restrictions to my account.

And they happily claimed that there was no evidence of misuse of details.

I didn't use them much to begin with (only for their occasional promotions), but I cancelled my account after this.

  • +2

Never had any issues with shopback. Just received the $25 bonus cashback into my bank account from December shopping.

    • +3

someone negged you for not having issue with SB, I feel there are bunch of people who are gang up on SB ( I only had issue once and was sorted too)…

      • +3

Maybe they’re being rewarded in some way? Certainly seems to be organised. I have problems with missing cashback from both CR and SB, but really not many.

  • +3

Missing cashback, Not protecting customer data…….
    Still dealing with this mob?

  • Any shopback rep here? I want to buy a suitcase and as per the banner and email it says luggage is included in the 25% (and even includes logos of luggage brands!) however in the rates on the app it's still 6%. Could you please confirm??

  • +2

I haven’t had many problems with ShopBack but some sellers are regular rejectors, I’m looking at you AliExpress and Amazon. I don’t think ShopBack can do much about it with these big players. ShopBack has often paid me out out of their own funds when this has happened. I mostly don’t bother with cashback offers from Amazon, and never for AliExpress. Just my experience.

    • Can’t believe I got negged for this post!
