      Mine stays on my wrist. (Version 4 - looks pretty similar to 5). Immediate reading of whatsapp messages is great.

      Also made my own background, got the old Commodore 64 logo powering the watch. Was a bit fiddly to do but fun.

      I do use the notify and fitness app (paid) instead of the standard mifit app.

      It's a good size for kids - I bought one for my 6 year old daughter and it fitted her well.
      She lost it a week later though… I don't think it was due to the fit. Most likely due to her personality ;)

        I find that the band comes open very easily with any kind of sideways knock or nudge. Mine has dropped off my wrist several times but luckily I noticed it. That's also how I broke my first unit - it hit the ground hard and the buzzer stopped working. My brother put a third-party band (from eBay) on his that doesn't have that issue - it's more like a regular watch band.

      The actual watchface is about 45mm tall and nearly 20mm wide, so it may look a bit weird, but the band goes quite small. However it might not register their heart rate if it can't go tight enough.

      According to reviews, you need to charge the 5 a lot more often than the 4. On the other hand, charging the 5 is a lot easier.

        Yeap magnetic change cable on the 5 is great. Currently wearing the amazfit band 5 (mi band 5 with spO2 and Alexa) and being able to just snap on the charger aswell is excellent

                  @ozbargainerlife1: ye bruh, been serving me well. I use it mainly for notifications and I dont have to always pickup the phone if theres something thats not too important. the fitness aspects also work well - tracking steps, heart rate monitor etc

                  overall a solid device and great value at this price

      You get a nicer screen and you can customize the display. It's a good upgrade.

      Just give the 3 as a hand-me-down to the missus/kids/neighbor/colleague/postman/checkout chick/doctor/airport security/rubbish bin in that order.

          You need to buy the specific NFC version AFAIK. That model is more pricey.

          I solve that problem using Westpac Paywear. Basically a little chip that sits on my band. Very useful.

      Yes can control music and use the "find device" mode on the watch and it'll make a sound on your iPhone. Very neat feature if you can't find it but sure it's in the house.

    These are very good for the price, however the software is meh and i've already had it lose connection with bluetooth on multiple occasions and only way to fix it is to turn off bluetooth on the phone the back on after which it syncs straight away (no it's not the phone as my galaxy buds etc never have an issue).

    Again really great for the price but there are downsides, if fitbit was even double this price for an equivalent device i would definitely go back to fitbit (moved to this when my Alta died and i didnt want to spend $100+ on the new versions).

      To sync the band with your phone, Bluetooth and GPS have to be on. To ensure that the band stays connected, Bluetooth alone needs to be switched on. If the Mi Fit app is installed and running (in the notification shade), you wouldn't need to manually connect in the event of a disconnection, so long as GPS and BT are on. It's not a pleasant experience especially since I only like to enable GPS when I'm navigating, but for less than $40 and all the features it offers, I can live with the inconveniences.
      Alternatively, you could put the band in pairing mode and manually pair it to your phone. This I imagine will increase battery drain on both devices but may be too negligible to notice.

        Yep got all that, tried the manual pairing too but then it got more confused sometimes hahaha so removed that, i have bluetooth on all the time as i frequently connect my ear buds, unfortunately i can tell its a bug as it wont sync with the Mi App but as soon as i disable bluetooth and enable it .. syncs instantly .. bit annoying but not the end of the world for the price.. just pointing it out for those who are more sensitive to the quality of life stuff … for the price reseting bluetooth one or 2 times a week just to sync isn't a big deal

    Honestly I prefer the miband 4, miband 5 has bigger screen but i wanted a nice watch face with my MiBand Tools app but the catalogue is much more limited than with miband 4. My perception is that the battery life is lower than the Miband 4 too.

      Well if you work for gucci, YSL, Vogue magazine, perhaps it wouldn't quite fit in. I have an office job for a large multinational and wear a Miband 4 and when I'm infrequently in the office, haven't felt any negative perception of wearing one.

    I lost mine in the first month, the band unlocks quite easily. It came off a few times accidentally before I lost it but it was a good product.

    This is just a mi band 4 renamed..

    Still plagued with the same problems.

    During workouts and fitness such as cycling heart rate could be 148 and the watch will detect 68.

    This throws your calories off as the band uses time + heart rate as a calculation for calories lost.

    This in turn makes you lose 30 calories instead of 300 calories.

    Please, have a look at SoundPeats Watch on Amazon. Does pretty much the same thing, but with a bigger watchface for the oldies. It's a barebones smartwatch but has all the fitness tracking capabilities and heart-rate monitor and decent battery life. I'm not the biggest fan of the app though, and still questioning how much juice it uses on my phone. But watch functions for the most part without it.

    Had a Mi Band once, but too small for messages and notifications.

    Got one for my 14-year-old daughter on the last Amazon deal. She loves it. Ticks all the boxes and more when compared to the Garmin VivoSmart 4 or the FitBit Inspire.
    The band will fit small wrists. We also purchased the Monuary extra 15 different colour bands for $16 - she changes them to match her mood/clothing.

    Anyone use this with their Oneplus phones, any issues with it? I had a fitbit charge 4 which stopped working and said that since Oneplus wasn't on their supported list, they can't guarantee it works…
