  • The coupon might not be supported by cashrewards, etc. So it would be better to skip it?

  • How good is its camera?? I'm looking for upgrade from S7 Edge

  • crazy price!

  • Never got onto Ali sales, would that be a lot of stocks to buy or sold in few seconds?

    • If the last global launch Redmi Note 10 Pro is any indication, stock lasted for about an hour before it sold out. The Poco X3 launch lasted for about an hour also. Note the early bird price only lasts for 2 hours, but I'm guessing promo code ALIAN11 which takes a further US$11 off will only last 30 mins maybe less, so get in quick if you want one.

      • Thanks for your reply, heard news the Redmi K40, K40 Pro sold in few seconds in China, worry about same on Ali

        • like everywhere - when gear is really cheap it sells fast….ali generally has a reasonable amount of stock but you should be looking to basket it before the date of sale..

          • @petry: does that price in basket update automatically once sale starts?

            • @SaberX: normally does for me but you need to watch your basket Before its due to change…

      • What time zone would the sales start? saw the poco x3 pro listing and wondering when to logon on April 1st if interested?

        • Poco X3 Pro should start 6:00pm AEDT on April 1st. Make sure to check the deal before then for any further updates.

    • going by the current stock levels, there's only ~100 of each combo. they are going to disappear very very quickly

      • There has to be more than that, they're saying the first 1000 orders get a free gift.

        • well at the moment it says 2444 in total

  • +1

How's the camera on this? Can you flash with less bloated OS? Can you use GCam and see noticeable improvements??

    • YouTube? YouTube/XDA? YouTube?

      • Nothing on XDA. Maybe too new

        • It was announced a day ago, and embargoes for reviews were lifted at the same time. Of course there won't be anything on XDA for like a couple of months.

          • @adrianhughes1998: Then I guess I will wait

            • @neonlight: You could always take a bet on it and get it early and have it sitting around.

I believe so far al lthe poco stuff have had customs roms get made and with the price/hardware on this I wouldn't see why they wouldnt work on this as well.

              • @wackedupwacko: True but by the time something is available then, maybe the price will drop also

    • is the OS default ok to use? Wouldn't flash/root as for the mother.

      • Up to the individual person. People crap on Miui but it is honestly fine. My mother who is not very tech savvy was able to move from her iPhone to it pretty seamlessly, and everyone else in my family, as well as a bunch of my friends all happily use MIUI without complaint.

I used to be in the custom rom world, but i just found there was always something that didn't work. Since my last couple xiaomi's I have just run stock miui with a different launcher, and have been quite happy with it. I find that whenever I use stock android it feels comparatively lacking in features. What I would reccomend is changing the default settings on running apps in background a little, as it can lead to delayed notifications.

  • Does this seller accept Paypal ?

    • Yes

  • whats all this mmWave stuff i keep hearing ?

this the best phone on price ?

  • Will there be F3 Pro with SD888?

  • what xiaomi phones have all the bands needed or most of ?

  • So, for people who don't care at all about mobile gaming, I'm guessing this is completely overkill over, say a Redmi Note 10s or 10 Pro.

You essentially pay significantly more for a better cpu and gpu, but then lose things like a headphone jack, a SD card slot, a radio and a longer lasting battery.

    Any opinions on this?

    • 5G :)

      • Can't say it's a big priority to be honest =)

I guess I'll wait for the 10s, I hope it's also released in Australia, it's also a bit smaller, which might help with one handed use and with better PPI for movies.

Man… they make all phones huge these days…

        • i have a Mi 9 the only reason for me to get a new phone would be 5G for more Cell bands

          no more 3G in 2024/5

  • Will we know at purchase if we are eligible for the watch/earbuds offer?

    • +1

You won't know at the time of purchase. You'll have to wait till you receive the phone.

      • +1

You can email them after placing your order. They reply with 'Yes dear'.

  • Does this phone come with GooglePlay store? If not, how do you download APP?

    • It does

  • Will I be able to use my Kogan sim with this device?

    • +1

Yes, has all the Vodafone bands

  • +2

Am I interpreting this correctly that this has no sd card reader in it?

    • yes, no headphone jack either

  • +1

To OP there has been changes to the listing:
    - Watch is now 50 pieces and TWS is down to 500 pieces
    - Use POCOF3 for a $30 off the early bird price

    • everything is going to be within minutes if more stock doesn't magically appear

    • Thanks updated OP

  • Can we add to the shopping cart before the sale starts? Will this be an issue for cashback?

    • Normally both Cashrewards and Shopback suggest that you don't have it in the cart, so you activate the cashback and then put it in the cart and make the purchase just in case… Either way see my comment below about this probably not being eligible for cashback, so make sure you use the voucher code just in case, otherwise you might not get a discount neither way!

  • Are you sure the voucher code is eligible with cashback? I don't see it (POCOF3) listed on Cashrewards?

    • I put that in description before I knew there was going to be a promo code. If it's not listed on Cashrewards then probably not eligible. Have updated OP, thanks.

      • Awesome! Cashrewards is currently 5% so based on the price in the title that's ~$21 AUD, so the $30 USD coupon is definitely better :)

        • Well they got rid of the US$11 with US$30 off initially :(

  • How's this deal work? Price is going to drop on 29/03 at 6:00pm AEDT, kind of like a flash deal or something?

  • With the color selection, what's the difference between Black vs Black Limited?

    • i could be wrong, but i'm guessing the "limited" ones are the sale items

  • Seems like they've changed it again?

Now dropped the "early bird" terminology now it's $20 off for "sale price" + $30 off for code.

So if true with GST, USD-> AUD costs it's likely to be around AUD$480 for the 256gb version and ships from China.

Not so sure now may give it a miss.

I don't like this cunning bait and switch marketing.

Phone and screen is good but camera nowhere near as good as Samsung A52. No optical stabilisation.

    • What was it before? $460 AUD including GST?

      • It was the same before, nothing changed.

        • -2

No - it went up around 10%. You now need the code to bring it back to the starting point.
The fact that people can't see this shows how marketers can outsmart.

          • +1

            @trevor99: Early bird prices were known!!!! $299 (~450) and $349 (~525)

The 11th Anniversary voucher was for current products??? was it specific for these new releases???

They threw in the new voucher to prevent other vouchers

          • +1

@trevor99: It was advertised for $299(128GB) and $349(256GB) and the price now is the same, what are you on about? How they want to implement it still doesn't change the initial advertised price.

            • -1

@samehada: They advertised a better deal for couple of days. $349 was the price before the codes, then you had a choice of codes or Cashrewards for 5%.

Firstly the ALAIN11 code was for $11 USD, but the POCOF3 code was for $30 USD, so would have been USD$319.

So now you need the code to get to USD$349 that will also likely invalidate Cashrewards.

              • +1

@trevor99: Well, this is their story
AND THEY ARE STICKING TO IT heh

                https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/H0f26f0ebd0c545709b35743f51678d91…

                • @[Deactivated]: Yes, exactly as I said. That graphic is new and appeared yesterday.
Before that, it was "early bird" $50 off with no code.

              • @trevor99: You know CashRewards is 3rd party and has nothing to do with the seller? Same for Aliexpress, why should the seller give a crap about what you get from CR or Aliexpress coupon?

                • -1

@samehada: Technically, Aliexpress reimburse them for sale just like Amazon and ebay for blackfriday

The AliExpress 11th Anni $11 voucher should have applied

    • -2

Actually the rule of thumb for exchange is 50% more

      So if you want the 8/256GB version = $349 + (349/2) = 349 + 175 = $AU 525

    • +1

the bottom line is that the early bird price is US$50 off the RRP, which seems to be standard for all these early bird sales

  • is this an upgrade from pixel 4a?

  • -6

Does anyone know if these early bird sales are for rejects from the factory???

1% of products are rejects off the production line, so they throw them out???

    • +1

      What an ignorant comment.

      • +2

        agreed >_<

      • -2

        You never know :P

      • More likely 10% rejects, and Woolies and Coles sell them at discounts too heh

    • No they're marketing to say the price is lower and get people talking about it.

  • Anyone know who they use for shipping? If it's Singapore post like some comments are saying, it's not gonna be good.

No tracking, and takes like 2.5 months :O

    • +1

I reckon 2-3 weeks delivery. When they launched they POCO M3 phones were delivered within 3 weeks.

      • other folks saying 45 days. well seems for the most part they deliver within a reasonable timeframe.

bought 8 march, aliexpress standard shipping

          • @c64: from POCO Store or soemone else?

            • -1

@adrianhughes1998: someone else, but using the same aliexpress shipping service

              • +1

@c64: standard shipping can be different between sellers. so yeah not relevant, sorry.

                • @adrianhughes1998: i don't think that is correct. aliexpress standard shipping service is a shipping service level offered by aliexpress to sellers

regardless, the estimated delivery date to australia is 23 april

                  • @c64: nah mate, i've always selected standard shipping.

Soocas store took me three weeks, same with Anker.
                    Baseus took 2.5 months
ZMI took a month and a bit.

some use Singapore Post, others other thing. so its a hodge-podge as to who you get for the standard shipping mate.

    • I purchased the Redmi note 10 pro earlier this month from Ali express it took 2.5 weeks from the day I purchased it.

      • +1

is the 108MP camera any good?

        • Low light shots average.
          Video recording overall just ok.
Daylight shots flagship level of quality. Very impressive.

Overall camera quality for the price. I highly recommend it.

      • same store or different store on AliExpress? if it's a different store/seller, then it's irrelevant.

i've had stuff from Anker Official Store come in three weeks, from Baseus Official Store, 2.5 months.

        • Ok then, anyone have a phone that they purchased from this specific seller?

          • @CheapOjoe: Yes I linked the POCO M3 deal in this comment, they're the same seller. Read the comments in the M3 deal, phones were delivered within 3 weeks.

  • +1

    Hmm… this or the X3 Pro :/

  • -2

When do we know if we get a extra gifts???

Without that $11 Ali Anniversary voucher this is not a great bargain

  • +1

sold out in 1 minute, wth!!!

    • The promo code has been used up !!!

    • I got one! But, I think I got the wrong package - I should've gotten the protector and nilkin case. I just got the glass protector. I think it comes with some transparent "case".

I ordered black. Hope they don't cancel!

  • Blue one sold out in like 10 seconds.

Managed to snag a white one, i'm sure black has plenty.

They didn't have much stock allocated to "Just the Phone"

Needed to add a screen protector and case to get it for an extra $10 USD :(

    • I found colour choice difficult. I typically like to go for coloured phones, but the Blue with its huge POCO branding took it out of the running, the black and white are both boring and just confirmed that it will live in a case 100% of the time.

  • Got a black one, thanks OP

  • thanks OP, got a white one

  • wtf man, they has like 2 in stock or something?

  • -1

Managed to get a 8gb 256 for $591 including tax. Had to order with the Mi SE 2 headphones to get one. First few efforts to order the price went up to over $1000 by the time it reached checkout.
