Also make sure turn on auto brightness

    •

      Any work arounds?

I've bought an old 6s to trade in. Yet to arrive

      •

Make sure it's not an international model. The iPhone 6s I purchased for this trade was MA1688 which after failing the Trade Up test, Samsung livechat informed me was ineligible. Suitable AU models are MA1634, MA1687, MA1699.

        •

Thanks I bought a 1687 so will try again once it arrives on Monday

The S7 I bought second hand originally was an international model so that's going back to the eBay plus seller on Monday

The trade up app said this S7 model wasn't eligible

Just a tip regarding the $50 code. Mine did not arrive after using 3 Gmail addresses but got it within an hour after using a Hotmail address.

Just placed an order for the ultra 128gb, its under review now. Not sure what that means.

  •

My phone is not eligible. Any suggestions on which eligible phone and where to buy it cheapest for trade-in

    • +1 vote

iphone 6 plus gumtree, can probably find one for arround 100-200

      •

I found an iphone x for 200$ and used it for trade up. :D

    •

A nearby CEX store and grab an iPhone 6/6s, only worth doing if you have a $200 and $50 code

  •

Trying to enter the $200 code under Promotion in check out repeatedly fails????
Should it be entered somewhere else?

This is for a S21 Ultra - maybe no longer valid for the S21 Ultra?

    •

      Online store? Promo column

      •

Just checked with chat. Apparently the code given to this afternoon from Samsung chat is invalid!

        •

Confirmed code I got from the chat this afternoon not valid too

    •

when I asked for my $200 voucher, the agent asked which phone I was planning to buy. I guess the code will be generated only for that specific phone?

      •

The code can be used with other model

      •

I used the $200 for S21 Ultra Phantom Navy just an hour ago….

        •

Congrats on getting the Phantom Navy - checked it out on youtube and it looks fabulous!

          •

@pencilman: hopefully it's worth the 4-5 weeks wait

            •

@James030609: Did your ordee is under need approval or its finalised?? I also brought last night bit itnis still need approval stage.

  •

Does this work by trading in a non-Samsung phone? Their T&C suggests they can, but it seems like most people are trading in their old S phones

    • +1 vote

Just type in your phone brand and model to check on the site.

  •

Couldn't resist and pulled the pin on phantom pink.paid 270 aud

    • +4 votes

Yeah got pink too. Gonna look so bad ass when I walk down the street proudly holding it.

      Look out single ladies!

    •

What device did you trade in and for how much?
      What was your final price?

      •

        ipad 80 dollars

        •

iPad worked for you? It wouldn't accept my serial number

          •

@profounddominator: Yup, uninstall the app and try again

            •

@U30004: I have a Samsung tab A. I'm stuck on the exact same issue - will not accept the serial number.
Error - sorry, we are having a problem executing your request. Please try again.

Cleared cache, reinstalled, always get stuck at this screen.

              •

@lordra: That's odd, I managed to get it done first time. Sorry I don't know what else to suggest

                •

@U30004: Yes, quite strange. Managed to get it to work on the s8 but not this.

                  Sigh.

  •

Anyone know what happens if you send in your device and they consider it damaged?

    •

That is something i'm also worried about. Heard nightmares from reddit comments.

      •

I have asked 2 x live chats and they said Asurion will charge a fee. They dont know how much the fee will be but you wont be able to get the device back if they dont accept it.

    •

To my understanding, you agree to pay back the agreed amount , they didn't mention the return or not.
To Samsung, the whole transaction is already finished.
To trade up company, they has the agreement to cover that " agreed amount".
Therefore, if you have concern, Don't send the phone back, let them charge your card is the optimal choice.

      •

As in will the $500 bonus still be included or will they revoke it?

        •

          $500 comes form Samsung.
The contract they signed with you only mention the " agreed amount " of your phone.

          •

@H_J: so, can we return the phone if that is not the case and that we have to pay full amount including bonuses? and how many days within we have to do it, and how?

        •

on receipt they group all discounts into one only, so, much likely you will have to pay the big difference. best way is to get a sscond hand s7 s9 or a51 a71 etc for $150-200, still worth the discount

          •

            @webtherapist: you are confused here.
The receipt comes from Samsung, they have the agreement with the tradeup company to guarantee "tradeup" money.
Therefore, to them the deal is done.

          •

@webtherapist: Yeah that seems like a good idea.
I currently have an S20FE which I wouldn't mind trading in, however it has a tiny dent in the corner.
The value drops from $350 to $25 if they consider it a damage so was just wondering

            •

@Fudely: Same with my S10+…I don't even know if I will be able to send my phone.. Still trying the microphone test with no luck.. Have mailed asurion but no reply yet..

        •

Seem nobody can have a 100% sure answer.

          tiny dent in the corner

Same for my S7 but I said NO because of the edge of S7 hardly see it.

  •

I traded in my old phone, do I need to send the cable and charger to them?

  •

Guys, let me know you are looking for a $200 voucher. I have two from 3 days ago.

    •

      Sorry Guys, all gone now.

    • +1 vote

How to get those voucher ? Pls share your steps please

      •

Just follow the samsung loyalty chat listed in earlier comments and ask them for voucher, they will give you with in a minute.

  •

Still no $50 at my end using 3 emails..

    •

      Same here :-(

      •

Same .. did you email the address in the popup to ask for one?

  •

So anything since yesterday is under review, I reckon there's a good chance they're going to cancel a lot of orders

    •

      Because of the $200 voucher?

    •

Mine is under review too. However i clearly mentioned i am using the 200 voucher for buying ultra with trade in and they are happy to give, so they cannot refuse that.

    • +1 vote

Mine went through straight away this morning with the $200 voucher.

      •

        Yup, same for me

    •

      Order confirmed, I stand corrected!

  •

There is a flood of s21 series phones in FB marketplace..

  •

Ok got the $200 voucher just now, it was fairly easy got it on the first try.

Now the decision… Should I get the Ultra 128GB for $479 or the Plus 128GB for $179, coming from a S20+.

    •

If you want the better camera and/or s-pen support, get the ultra. If neither of those interest you get the plus. Surely you'd get the 256gb version though since there's no SD card slot.

      •

Yea I know but I'm only using half of the 128GB in my S20+, so can't see the need to spend another $100 for 256GB.

    •

      How did you get 479?

I just placed an order for 539 for the same phone, did I miss a voucher?

      1599 - 315 - 500 - 200 - 50?

      •

Trade in must have been worth more

        •

Ahh true maybe he has the higher storage s20+

      •

        S20+ 5G 128GB is $370 trade in.

  •

Just got the $200 code also. As other have mentionee all I said was I was looking to upgrade to one of the new Samsung galaxy s21 phones and a friend was offered a $200 voucher code.
They came back straight away saying if I was interested in getting one they could offer a $200 code which she generated pretty quickly.
Must be used within 7 days fr what they said. I have tested the code and it works on the ultra. Will look to place an order at some stage in the next couple of days

  •

iPhone SE 2016 qualifies but fails the gyroscope test on the upgrade app due to bug - phone actually in perfect condition.

I know this was discussed back somewhere in the early pages.
Did anyone have any success getting past this problem?
Really wanting to trade my iphone SE 2016 for upgrade.

    •

I'm still having no joy with this. Anyone have success trading in an iPhone SE 2016 ?

  • +1 vote

Genuinely ridiculous how hard it is to receive this 50 dollar sign up voucher lol

    •

Yep, 6 different emails and chased it up on chat. Still nothing……

      •

        Same situation
        It's mission impossible

        •

Someone said it’s works for outlook email account in few hours and gmail takes day . Try your luck

          •

@Ozfanmel: The weirdest thing is i signed up this morning with an outlook email -> within an hour i was receiving promotion emails "tell us about your new Galaxy S21", etc etc

Yet no voucher made it across.

          •

@Ozfanmel: Tried outlook and Hotmail.com after weeks only one received

    •

Send an email to [email protected]

  •

Waited for few days for $50 to arrive in my Gmail account, singed up with Yahoo last night and got it in couple of hours……this signup voucher system is absolutely broken af and one would hope better from Samsung

    •

I tried yahoo two days ago. No voucher.

  •

An old yahoo.co.uk account worked after trying gmail, hotmail, work address !!

  •

Just got a voucher first go and placed an order, thanks!

And now that a lot of people will be sending their current mobile phones back to Samsung, what are some of the best ways to backup data, contacts (sync apps) and wipe everything off the phone so that a stranger won't access your accounts? I have S10 Plus and have different Google search results of how to go about it. Just wanna know what methods people are using before I screw things up when the new phone arrives.

    • +1 vote

Contacts and bookmarks should be synced with your Google account. That way you can always access them from any device anywhere. I back up the other stuff eg apps, sms messages and homescreen to my Samsung account. I usually don't restore apps and homescreen from a backup, though, as it doesn't always play well and can cause battery drain.

To wipe your phone, just do a factory reset and be sure to remove your sd card. Nothing else is required.

      •

Bro what if you have 200 apps. You seriously load each one?

        •

I try to keep my stuff minimal so I never have 200 apps, but yes, I load my apps individually.

      •

        Cheers.

I back up the other stuff eg apps, sms messages and homescreen to my Samsung account.

PS: Is there a step by step link somewhere online how to do that part, or is it a simple process?

        • +1 vote

Just do it in the settings menu on your phone. It's easy.

    • +1 vote

I normally just do factory reset but I guess some pervert could find a way to get my special selfies

        is AussieDaddy your daddy?

        • +1 vote

          👀🤐😁

      •

Lol! Yeah, if you have "special" stuff there then you might need to do more than a factory reset, I guess (according to a couple of online links I've just checked). Encryption was one of the things they mentioned, among other methods, to make sure no one else will be able to recover your data.

        •

          Thanks daddy

    • +1 vote

You don't need to send it until you received the new phone.

Also use Samsung smart switch to copy apps and data

      •

Yeah, wasn't gonna send it back until I receive the new one, of course. Just wanna be prepared. :)

        •

You can connected it to PC and copy as backup. WhatsApp do a local backup and copy everything under WhatsApp folder to PC. I found that smart switch won't copy the sent folder.
