@superforever: Thanks for those tips. Will definitely do that.

@AussieDaddy: One more thing don't use PC to copy photo to phone . Android gallery use created date to display

              •

@superforever: Oh! Was going to use my PC to do just that, it's like you've read my mind. Lol Thanks for the save.

                • +2 votes

@AussieDaddy: Copy to PC as backup is OK but use smart switch to do the actual switch over from phone to phone for photos. I don't understand why Android use created date with gallery.

I did it and mess my gallery and I have to do it again with smart switch and took me another hour.

The trade up app won't accept any credit cards. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

    • +1 vote

exactly what happened to me.. i ended up clearing cache, clearing date, force stop then unintalling it. After that i reset the phone and re-installed the app and finally credit card details went through

      •

Lol lot of effort. You even reset the phone hah

        •

Lol, I mean restart hahaha.. wouldn't go to the trouble of resetting the whole phone 😬

While putting the year in the CC details make sure you enter the 4-digit year and not just two digits. For example, if your CC expires on September the 20th of this year, on most other platforms you enter it as 20/09/21, but on Samsung website you enter it as 20/09/2021. If you did that and it still doesn't work then it's something else.

Got the ultra for $634 with s10+ trade-in. Received $200 voucher from live chat and bonus $30 off afterpay promo.

Hope 128gb is enough otherwise may use google drive storage!

    • -2 votes

How do you receive the $200 voucher, is it as easy as mentioning it on the live chat?

      •

See earlier comments for the link, chat to the Samsung agent and tell them a friend received a 200 dollar voucher, they give you one immediately

    • +1 vote

How did you get the $30 off from Afterpay?

    •

      What's the Afterpay promo?

    •

You be surprised at how people don't even use close to that amount and they also have higher storage capacity.

  •

Base S21 OOS all colour variants.

  • +1 vote

Just going through some of the comments, it seems just need to use $50 and $200 code, and the bonus trade in using an eligible Samsung phone. Seems like S21 is OOS. I assume stock will get replenished, hopefully throughout the week?

  •

Can we use one or both promo code to buy some accessories? Like a charger?

    •

The accessories are sold RRP or normal prices on the Samsung store. It may be better to buy the accessories from resellers to save money.

the 25 watt fast charger is $49 on Samsung but Harvey Norman and The Good Guys sells it for $29.

      •

Not sure where you're seeing $49 for the 25W fast charger, it's coming up as $29 for me on the Samsung online store. It's just not in stock.

      •

Is it ok to use any random charger that I hv (iphone charger+ usb c)? Would it be bad for phone or just slow? Thank you

        •

Won't hurt the phone but probably slow

        • +1 vote

I'm just using Kmart 18 watt fast charger with PD and quick charge works fine with all of my Galaxy flagship phones, S7, S10e, Note 9 et cetera

USB-PD is an open standard is supported on a lot of modern android phones and tabs now so there's no vendor lock in (i.e you don't need a Samsung charger to fast-charge a Samsung phone). Your phone will do a handshake with the charger and negotiate a suitable charging speed that either the phone or charger will support.

When shopping for a charger look for one that supports PD (Power delivery) version 2.0 or better if you want the fastest charging speed.

Do remember that you need to use a good quality USB-C cable that supports PD and not all cables are built the same. Some support 18w only and some go up to 100 watts.

If anyone is looking for S-Pen and Case combo, the deal I posted has had a further reduction in price, $63.40 (was 67.43 at time of posting)

This accessory normally sells for $99 thru Samsung.

    S21 completely sold out

Saturday and Sunday it may comes back in stock middle of next week like I bought on 23March

      Just my guess

Tried via the online chat, appears they aren’t really giving the $200 codes out any more :(

I guess their surge in sales will plummet back to normal then :-)

What do you think they're doing with them? Eating them?

          •

@wombat81: Where have you seen these phones being sold

            •

@furyou: Asurion is an international company so I'm guessing overseas.

            •

@furyou: Overseas.. developing countries with huge populations.

            •

@furyou: Most likely overseas. The world outside Australia is a big big place with 7 billion people.

  •

Something tells me that the next big deal will be for a top class case for the S21 series…

    •

My go to has always been Spigen cases. Can usually buy from ProGadgets or on ebay for around 20 to 30 depending on type.

      •

        I bought from Amazon

  •

I bought S21 Ultra 128GB and it's telling me the total discount was $1,235. How is that possible? The site valued my S10+ for $235, and with the $500 discount and $200 + $50 vouchers, I thought the discount would be $985. Am I missing something here? 🤔

    •

      Plus $250 off RRP

    •

      From their RRP

      •

Oh, I see. The numbers didn't add up so I thought I missed something, and apparently I did. Ta

Everyone furiously trying to get the code with multiple emails is probably what's clogging up their code generating system.

          •

@iatnuy: Nah it's always been terrible. I had issues last year getting a code.

who is planning on not returning their trade in device?

    • +1 vote

If not return the trade in device, you might get charge the $500 that they offer you.

      •

Has anyone already had this experience?

      • +3 votes

I've re read the tac it doesn't make any reference about the bonus trade in amount, only Asurion's.

        •

You can try and let us know what happens after…

    •

      I am planning not to

    •

I think you will be charged the full retail price (including the $500 promo that was applied)
      https://www.samsung.com/us/trade-in/frequently-asked-questio...

"If you decide after you make your purchase that you do not want to trade in your old device, keep it, and we will charge your payment account for the trade-in credit applied to your new phone purchase.

Approximately 15 days after the date you receive your new device, we will charge you for the full retail price of the Galaxy device you purchased. We will charge the same payment method as your initial order. If you do not have sufficient credit available on the account you used when you placed your order, Samsung will contact you. You must provide an alternate payment method."

        That's for the US.

I had chat with samsung and they confirmed $500 trade bonus will be charged either if we do not return the device or device did not qualified.

  •

Got all the discount codes ($200 via chat, $ 50 via marketing email and $ 195 for trading in my Note 9) but S21 Ultra Black's availability is limited to 128GB (256 and 512 are gone), so I went with the Titanium instead (512GB) but it says it'll take 4-5 weeks to get it shipped :(

So far, sitting on "Order Status : Waiting for Approval", whatever the hell that means, because I already got charged the full amount on my bank account.

Anyone picked one of the "custom colors" and if so, have you had your order approved and shipped sooner than the 4 or 5 weeks?

    Thanks!

    •

Both issues have been discussed a number of times. Lots of people have had the "waiting for approval" status and it general gets approved the next day. Don't stress.

The shipping time for the custom colours is pretty accurate.

Has anyone tried to trade in ipad 5th gen 32gb WiFi. After passing all the tests, i provided the serial number, now it's giving me an error, "sorry we are having problem executing your request"

    Waiting for S21 stock update

    • +1 vote

Same. I was almost going to pull the trigger on the pink, but restrained myself.

      Now they're all gone.

      •

Still have a long way before expiry hope the $200 still work as I heard some used it after 7 days

      •

Called up Samsung online store..they can't provide stock updates..asked me to opt for alerts through the "get stock alert" notification.

  •

Can someone suggest a fingering compatible glass or glass like screen protector for ultra..? (Not ones with a hole in the middle)

    •

Amfilm look them up on Amazon.

      •

Thank you..reviews dont look great on that one..have you used it personally..? How easy to install that..?

  •

My Note 8 works perfectly but has a spiderweb crack on the back glass. Mentioning this on the trade-in app tells me that I'm not eligible (because it is an old phone I guess, some of the newer phones just get a reduced value).

So…what happens if I try it anyway and they deem the trade-in phone as damaged?

    1) Do they inform you and you have the option of getting it back? (perhaps repair it and send it back)
    2) Do they just deduct it from the trade in amount? I don't care if they don't give me any of the trade-in amount, as long as they don't deduct the $500.

I'm just wondering if I should get the back glass fixed before I send it back to safeguard myself, or not to.

    •

Yeah Im curious about this as well

    •

I have the same issue, it says by the end of the trade up process that if your phone condition differs from what you mentioned via trade-up app then they will charge the phone cost from your nominated CC. So for instance if you have S8+ and its trade-up price is $85 then it they will deduct only $85.

This is what I got by the end when it asks for the CC details. I don't think they will charge you entire cost i,e $500 or any other voucher you've used since they have your phone.

Just try to go to the last stage where it will ask you your CC details and you'll see.

  •

Did phone price discounts just end?
Could have sworn that it was discounted from the start, or was i looking at the discounts already being applied?

    •

      Yes

    •

and now most out of stock!

  •

Hi, can someone let me know how to get the 200$ discount code

    •

      also, would it be a total discount of 995$ ( 200$ + 50$ + 500$ (trade-in bonus) + 245$ (note 9))

      •

Get on the chat. Tell them you want to buy a S21 and politely ask for a $200 voucher code.

And yes, your maths looks correct.
