$400 Trade-in and Stackable $200 & $50 Discount on Galaxy S21 Series (Galaxy S21 128GB $449, RRP $999) @ Samsung Store

2790

Looks like Samsung have increased their trade-in bonus on the Galaxy S21 to $400 (it has varied between $200 and $500 in the past two months). The $200 discount code also now appears to be stackable again, and you can also stack the $50 newsletter sign up voucher.

Ask a live chat agent (https://chatbot.samsungcs-au.com/) for a $200 discount voucher.

        • how quickly do they email? i'm in a similar boat with no email from asurion or samsung

          • @bort: No idea. Still haven't receive any email…

    • Still haven't got one either..
Had phone since thursday last week 🤷‍♂️

  • My samsung S8 has some small cracks and it says "based on the evaluation, this device is not eligible for the samsung trade up program" Is there anyway around this I can still get onto this trade up deal for the $400 bonus + stack vouchers, codes etc.

    • In the app say it's fine then don't send it

    • No need to tell them of the crack,no need to return the old device, I got the new device and email them I want to keep the old device.

  • Just been into the Highpoint Samsung store and looks like you can get the same $400 trade in discount In-Store.

    • +2

      But you can't get the extra $200 + $50 code in-store.

  • Hi guys will Asurion be able to do anything if phones are not returned and they now have access to IMEI numbers?

    • They do have your credit card details, and you would legally agree to send them your device..

    • +1

I have sent email to them, they confirmed they would only deduct the offer amount of the old device

  • Anyone know if there is any good tempered glass screen protectors that works with the fingerprint reader?

Also any charger that works that will get Super fast charging?

Samsung 25W chargers are all sold out

    • +1

I use the Spigen Glas.TR tempered glass screen protector. Flat, no cut-out notch, so it looks pretty invisible. The fingerprint scan is not as good as without the protector, but it's reliable enough for me. Works pretty much first time when my fingers are clean and dry, but if they are sweaty or greasy, it can take several goes

  • My S21 arrived today, I'm going to email Asurion when they contact me and inform them I'm going to keep my S8 and not send it in as a trade-in. They can dock me $55 for it as other posters have commented they will. I just did a search on eBay and an S8 in very good condition with no scratches or damage can easily fetch $150+. Pfft… $55 or the $35 they're offering now… tell em they're dreaming.

  • Hello everyone! It's such a amazing thread. I finally worked out the deal and ordered myself the S21 5g 256gb tonight. I stacked all three coupon $50+$200+$400+$15(old phone) and paid only $684. I will keep the old phone as it only fetches me $15 and return them that money. Hopefully the new s21 arrives soon and not sending Back the trade phone doesn't bite back into $400 extra trade in bonus.

  • Has anyone got a $200 spare code, samsung not giving anymore out and no replies from the other thread. Thanks in advance.

  • anyone knows if $200 and $50 codes have expiration date?

    • $50 one has 1 month expiry and $200 is 7 days.

  • Anyone with a 50 dollar code please ?

  • For all those going to try to keep the phone, can you please inform us of your experiences so we can all benefit?

I am pretty sure Samsung will ask us to also pay back the $400 trade bonus. Samsung gad put it there for that reason. I don't think they are that dumb, but I hope they are as my phone was selling for $750 under 2 years ago and I am sure it's worth a lot more than $65 today.

We are all waiting to see what they will say when we tell them we have decided to keep our phones.

One tricky situation would be if the condition of the phone had changed between the time you placed the order and when you are ready to send it back (say you have dropped it and the screen is now cracked) do they have the right to also claim the $400 bonus? That would suck indeed

    • This question have been ask many times @
      (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/612845#comment) or on Whirlpool.

I am not sure if this deal is different to the previous deal or not.

The previous $500 Trade in bonus, got many confirmed from both Samsung and Asurion that won’t be charge. If you not return the trade in device or the device not meet the condition. Any promotion offer will still remain as it is.

  • For Android users whose phones can start the Trade-Up test but end up ineligible, and are unable to retest (goes straight to the ineligible screen, be it clearing app data/cache and reinstalling), try wiping your cache partition to reset the app.

  • Rats, I am totally late to the party. The live agent told me that I was ineligible for the $200 code, since it was only for those that had a damaged sammy phone… Looks like no promo code for me.

A $500 s21 for mothers day would have been a sweet as deal. Thanks for posting.

    • +2

I just got a code from the live agent, I told them I cracked my screen on my current Samsung Galaxy S8 (not untrue) and needed the code. She didn't ask for any details or proof and generated the code for me

      • Oh nice, I just tried your method and it works like a charm hahaha

        Cheers for the workaround mate.

  • Can someone confirm you can stack $200 discount code with $400 trade-in offer is working today? I have read on whirlpool forum you can only use either trade-in offer OR $200 off

    • I can confirm it still works. Save $600 in total, or $650 if you have the $50 code.

  • Hi everyone,

The process is working fine for me, except that when I added the 50$ coupon, I received ERROR: 500 - INTERNAL SERVER ERROR.
And now I can't access my cart at all, every time I do I get the same error, I have tried different browsers, same error :/
Can anyone confirm if they closed the 50$ loophole?

    • +1

My friend did smoothly today, so can confirm it's still working. Maybe try to clear your cache or use incognito. Good luck!

    • +1

Chrome incognito worked for me. Safari and Firefox threw the same error.

      • Thank you for your reply guys.
I tried chrome incognito, it didn't work.
I even tried firefox focus, also didn't work.
Maybe I got a bad code.

    • I was having a similar issue, completed the purchase on my mobile and it went through.

    • UPDATE: It worked after using brave browser in incognito.
      Cheers guys

Hey buddis , got a super trick. I was trying to check out with all codes since Thursday but no luck.
Last night I manage to check out on first try
    Open chrome incognito
Don't log in to your Samsung account
Add a watch to cart and apply $50 voucher after add the S21 you want put trade up code and 200 code, you will be able to see portion of 50 voucher automatically applied on phone.
Delete the watch from cart then the $50 will be applied to your S21.
Check out as guest, do not log in

If you have afterpay you can take additional 30 as well unfortunately my new afterpay didn't go through and checked out with card
    S21+ 128gb traded up with 435 200 and 50
    Paid 864 in total

    Thanks guys
    All the best

    Mod note: Removed referral solicitation

    • Thanks for the info. Been having trouble using all the codes also. This worked for me.

  • Does anyone know if we can cancel order placed few days back as part of this offer , haven’t got the phone yet.
    Good Optus deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/620678

    • Return accepted in 7 days if not opened, you can use 7 eleven parcel for Return.. they have had a special day. Also try customer service to cancel.. make sure optus has good coverage it's bad in my area

      • Thanks

      • +1

Samsung accept change of mind returns and will provide you a prepaid Australia label.

        • Will they refund the trade-in value of the old phone too? Or we have to go through Asurion?

  • Just placed an order. Thank you OP :)

  • Is anyone else having issues putting in the trade-in code? Every time I try to enter the code, it comes up with an error 'Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment'. I have been trying this the last two days.

    • Did you check the expiry date of code when it's issued

      • Hi Thomas, the codes expires 27 May. Not sure why it is not working?

        • Did you try on cognito and without logging in to your account

  • Yes, I am wondering if I should re-apply for the trade-in code? Has anyone recently experienced the same issue?

    • +1

I had but it's fixed it self.. I would say clear your browser and try on cognito with guest checkout. If not working get a new code

      • Do you have to put in your credit card details for it to work?

  • Yes, but I never put my credit card details in for the trade-in app.

    • Where are you applying the code at checkout

    • Are you using other two codes?

      • I haven't entered the other two codes. Thank you for your help

    • If you didn't put in your credit card, there is a chance you might've selected the instore option instead of the online option.

Same code was generated, but you can only start using the code when you go through the online option properly (Inc putting in your cc details)

      • Hi Victor, Is it secure and safe providing your credit card details? I am still having the same issue with the trade in -" Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment"

        • I'm not sure how secure it is to be honest, and I didn't go ahead with the trade in.

I suggest maybe use a prepaid MasterCard with a couple of $ left to get the trade in code, which is what I did.

        • The cc details into the trade-up app? That's perfectly fine. Your cc info there goes to Asurion (the makers of the app and the ones partnering with Samsung for the trade up program).

It's used to bill you for the trade-up value if you don't send your phone in, or send in a phone that is misgraded/ineligible.

  • Samsung s21 ultra 256GB is reduced to $1364 on education store but $200 voucher does not works over there.

  • +1

For those who have received the phone, did you get 2 separate shipment for the phone & cable?

    • No it came together

    • Together as separate parcels.
My friend got them separately on different days.

    • What cable?

    • Separated in my case. Got the cable first, then the case and screen protector from progadgets, then the phone.

  • I didnt receive the 50 code after tried so many times.
    Any one got luck?

    • +1

Send an email you will get in a day

      • I did sent trying different times
        still no luck

        • I jumped on a live chat with a Samsung agent, told them about the issue and they sent the code manually on the next business day. They blamed my email provider spam filters (Gmail and Outlook they were).

          • @Crimzic: yep, finally got the 50 voucher manually through online email feedback

  • just received this statement from the chat rep when asking for the $200 voucher:

By the way xxxx, I just need to set expectations that the $200 voucher can only be use in the Samsung Australia Website for regular purchase, not for Employee Purchase or Education Program, not applicable too on a Samsung Physical Store, it's also no longer stackable with Trade-Up Promotion and with the $50 Sign Up Bonus too which was confirmed by Samsung Australia since possible error may happen during the check out. The validity of the Voucher is 7 Days upon the issuance as some of the devices are out of stocks at the moment, but you can also get stock alerts with your email so that you will be notified once the device is available. This voucher code is also applicable for purchasing S20, Note 20 and or S21 Series on the Samsung Australia Website. May I also know if you are still okay to go ahead please?

    • Support says they don't stack but you can still give it a shot.

      • Yep, same for me too.
I put in the order anyway and received a second email to say its under review, so maybe it might not go through.

        • Yep mine got confirmed

          • @fenrer: Confirmed as in, the sale still went through with stacked vouchers?

            • +2

@Dontreadthis: Yep code stacked didnt wait for the 50 voucher. Got a auspost tracking today.

              • @fenrer: i think mine might have gone through. Also received auspost tracking today

        • It says under review and will go through in many other cases.

  • Has anyone ordered the s20 fe? Wondering how s20 fe compares to s21?

  • "Sorry, due to an error, the trade in service is not available right now"
Chrome incognito when entering trade up id

    • I was able to get $200 code from chat because my buttons aren't great. But cannot progress with trade-up ID.

      • They told me the $200 promo is over since end of April

        • Weird, I was given one last night and they said I have 7 days to use it.
Still can't get past the Trade up ID part though.

          • @Awsam: Try a different browser?

            • @RocketFish: I've tried chrome, edge, mozilla and my phone :( I've tried from the product page, and at checkout. Still always says "The trade in service is not available right now"

              :(

              • @Awsam: I had that error too, but once I put in the whole ID, it refreshed in a sec and gave me the trade in value/option to Proceed

              • @Awsam: yup, getting the same problem here too

                • @cheapskateasianchic: Anyone know if it's possible to complete the process, with discounts, using the trade up app alone? Seeing as the trade ID isn't working in the webstore.

                  • +1

@Awsam: you need to enter the credit card details first on the app

                    • @U30004: Mate, thankyou so much. That solved the issue.

  • How long did it take for you guys to receive the $50 sign up voucher? It's been a day for me and still nothing

    • been waited for 3 days, and kept on emailing them..no reply and nothing received.

      • Ok just got mine today. I chat to one of the customer service on their website yesterday so note sure if that's the reason why it worked.

  • How long post-delivery does Asurion contact you for the trade-in?

    • same day

      • Huh. It's been days for me and I've not gotten any emails. Maybe my shitty phone isn't worth bothering with and just billed my card for a dollar.

        • +2

There has been some discussion on this topic if you dig through all the comments. What seems to happen for some people is that Samsung doesn't update the order status in their system after delivery. If you check online looks to see if your order status is Dispatched or Delivered (can't remember if those are the correct terms), you'll probably see it only says Dispatched. When they update to Delivered, you should receive an email that day with the label to print to take to post office for return. For some it's happening on the day of delivery. For others it takes a while.

          • @tbone74: Ah, thanks! It does say dispatched for me still. Guess I'll have to wait it out.

  • I ordered on the last day of the offer which was 29/4 (before they extended it) received the phone on Monday 3/5 but I have not opened the box yet as I want to buy a phone case before I open and give the missus for Mother's day.

Anyone received any info about returning the trade-up phone yet?

I am planning not to return it and will pay for the device if that's all what they will ask me to pay back.
