I will try my best for the $5 gift card.. thanks OP

    • +1

      I will do the same

      • +6

I will try a little better than my best.

  • +2

Got Uber Eats last time, it works for regular Uber thankfully.

    • +4

Yes, their codes are interchangeable and vice versa.

    • +1

      I hope I don’t get Uber.

  • Thanks for the freeby

  • +5

Got lucky last time with Amazon, probably end up with Uber Eats this time. Oh well, I've had my fair share so I'll take one for the team.

  • +2

So ShopBack is now getting into the Lootboxes model

  • +6

    300 a drop = a bot guys battle .
Forget if not set up .

  • -2

Guys this is no joke it should be regulated as GAMBLING. Because that’s what it is. Also how many of those gift cards are for example JBhifi compared to the others? Anyway I find it despicable to take advantage of a grey area of gambling to profit over people

    • +5

it doesn't cost you anything though….

      • +9

        Except wasted time

    • -8

I'm not convinced this is a good marketing offer for Shopback either. I missed out to the bots on every drop last time, which has meant only one transaction through SB in the last month. That compares with 15 transactions through CR.
Before my bad experience with the last SB $5 voucher promo, i was using SB 90% of the time.

      • +5

The good ol' "They must be cheating!" when you're losing at a game.

        • -1

I'm not saying they're cheating, but I was disappointed that I was never fast enough.
My shopping history shows that something has biased me away from SB or towards CR since the last such promo. Maybe its a coincidence, maybe it had a subconscious impact on my choice of cashback provider. Which do you think is more likely?

  • nice, i hope i can get

  • +2

My cashback from last deal is still under investigation this like 1 month ago

    • -1

Send me a DM with the deets so I can look into it for you.

    • I just received an email that my cashback from Myer is not valid and this is the second time it happened!

      • -1

Mind sending me a DM with your details so I can check it out?

  • +2

25.36 million Australians vs 300 cards per drop = borderline contest

    • -1

Wasn't difficult to get the previous one. Must have been 20 million cards on offer

    • +1

Quite a few still stuck overseas so probably odds are better

    • +1

      Shopback has 25.36 million users?!

  • I would let other 1500 people get lucky here.

  • Bloody ubereats again

  • Hey reps is there gonna be a eBay upsized cashback on SB?? Can't wait to spend my $$$ on eBay

    • Hey mate, nothing planned as of yet. But that can change at the last minute ¯_(⊙︿⊙)_/¯
You could grab gift cards from our Super Store and stack it with the regular cashback if it's an urgent order?

      • Na nothing urgent, I was just waiting if SB comes up with eBay upsized CB deal, like a wonderful magic during this ClickFrenzy Mayhem,
If not ofcourse will just buy items with regular gift cards ;)

And no thats not my down vote to your reply

        • hahah all good!

  • +5

Constant ongoing issues with Shopback coupled with the poorly handled data breach that users are still having to deal with. Constant forum posts about them not honouring cash backs and now offering basically a lootbox style gambling system for random gift cards.

This isn’t a deal, it’s advertising for a gambling system. What next, scratch lottery tickets posted as deals?

    • +1

It is a deal last time I bloody ended up with a Ubereatz voucher. but again i never ever use that so it was garbage to me, gave it away for free on Ozbargain.
To be really honest only vouchers that would be useful to me are Kmart, and eBay rest are just garbage to me.

I do get issues with SB time to time, but they usually always decline my claim, and then add like a top up to my account like a few days later maggically saying my claim was accepted. Not sure about others but that is what always happens with me.

  • -5

It goes without saying that Shopback is extremely unreliable, and the reps are aware of issues and don't care unless the crowd speaks up (see pretty much every upsized Shopback deal post on OzBargain)

    • +1

Hmm, I know a lot of folks complain about Shopback being unreliable in terms of cashback processing, but honestly, I've never had an issue with any of my transactions through them (except for one with Amazon, which probably was an item in the wrong category), and I track my cashbacks very closely. Just my experience though.

      • Its people wanting to choose sides, CR or SB, really they are both about the same

        • -1

both take turns in not tracking, CR sucks when it comes to big purchases, never tracks anything in the hundreds and theres no record of the purchase either apparently.

    • -2

Hey, I'm sorry you feel this way.
Sometimes we're unaware of issues until the community or other customers bring them to our attention.
If there's a particular concern you have, would you like to DM me so I can take a look into it for you?

      • Was this your excuse when you had the data breach?

        • I guess EVERY company that’s ever had a data breach is at fault now, too?

          • +2

@Narchos: Yes, they are. Companies need to do everything they can to protect users' personal data, which they make lots of money from and which exposes their customers to diabolical consequences, like identity theft, if not handled with the utmost care.

            • @xyron: That’s sometimes not possible and unavoidable

  • +1

How do I actually do this at 2pm? In ShopBack app click gift cards? And look for some $5 mystery thing then try to buy? And if 300 are gone will it decline or I end up with a $5 gift card and no cash back?

    • wondering the same

    • There'll be a special link for the mystery gift card in the app, if it's out then you won't be able to purchase.
If you click on the Superstore 100% cask back banner, you'll see the link that's not active yet.

    • https://www.shopback.com.au/gift-cards scroll down to 'How it works' and try again at 3pm

Got the eBay $5 Gift Card! 🎉

  • +2

All gone in less than 1 second 😡

  • +1

    Got a $5 Kmart card thanks !

  • +4

That was stressful, was refreshing the page that had greyed out $5 gift card. Then it disappeared from that screen and kind of kicked me out to the main screen. Then clicked back through and found it saying 'coming soon', then clicked back and clicked into it again which worked and used my cashback balance to purchase immediately, sms confirmation, then done. Got eBay :)

  • Nothing again

  • Got Kmart

  • Got Kogan. Better than nothing I guess 🤷🏽‍♂️

    • Got JB, pm me if u want to swap, I prefer Kogan or Amazon

  • +1

I was there right on time at 2pm but as I was wanting to pay, it was sold out 😶

    • Gotta click through to the deal as soon as it becomes available (keep pulling down to refresh) then hit pay now instantly without thinking.
