    Currently have Individual membership: ARS 119/mo but it doesn't give me the option to upgrade when I click manage membership???

    • Are you still connected to the VPN? You'll need to be connected to the VPN to make plan changes.

      • Yes, still connected to the vpn. Able to edit payment details and cancel membership but there is no option to upgrade.

  • Does anybody have trouble adding new family members? I was able to join using VPN but when I tried adding another email address, got a popup saying - looks like you are in a different country than your family manager when I tried to add the invitation. Tried accepting invitation using VPN but still getting the same error. Any work around for this?

      Just signed up, surfshark didn't work, so I used the free Hola chrome extension instead. :)

      • When I was using WeVPN it kept saying I was in South Africa. Used Hola and all good! Thanks for the tip.

  • Well that was easy… didn't even bother with the incognito window. Just cancelled existing sub, loaded VPN, refreshed YT and went in and re-subscribed for AR179.

  • Super Deal!! Setup a new profile in Chrome. Installed Hola VPN extension. Then visited "https://www.youtube.com/premium" and set location to Argentina. Logged in and subscribed to Premium. Paid using VISA debit with no forex fee. Needed Argentinian address. Works a Charm. Paid AUD 1.65 on 11 Sep 2021.

    Hi, for folks trying to register family members and see the "looks like you are in a different country than your family manager"

    I had a payment profile linked to the account which had AU payment card added while the family manager profile was setup as India payment.
    Deleted the existing payment profile on Google settings and registration went through
    Didn't even need a VPN to register
    Devices which were already linked to the id automatically updated to Premium profile without needing to logout/login again

    Not sure if the gravy train is over but my indian account no longer accepts billing from my CC. No paypal and errors whenever i try and put in my details (Using indian or local address). Will try Argentina if it can't find a good reason not to.

        Should also add my indian account has been fine for the last several months or so, no issues.

    • I havent been able to update my cc to renew my indian subscription with amex or mastercard. It accepts the cards then reports payment could not be processed?

        I was pretty much the same. I could update or add a card (same card mind you), but it would error saying there had been a problem.

        But right now, im glad to say that it seems to have gone through. My subscription ended today, so i let it expire to see what would happen. I received an email saying it had paused, but 2 mins later i received anther email saying my order had been processed and it had started again. Checked my bank and was charged $3.43 for a family account. Everything seems active and no longer receive the 'update payment' banner on youtube.

  • I just set up this for my mum as I was going mad watching her continually wait through ads on YouTube forgetting to skip them. Did the Argentina VPN thing, used a local address via the method suggested, input her card, switched to a family plan, then added family members and it looks Ok. The first month is free so I am wondering if there will be an issue when the card gets charged for the first time?

    • No issues in terms of payment other than the above. You get charged in the local currency

  • Sick of seeing ads and after numerous attempts with Nord VPN (didn't work), I switched to another VPN and worked flawlessly (Suncorp debit). Now enjoying ad free stuff for $2.44/m family plan. I'm loving it thanks everyone for all comments on failures and success and TA for the post!

    Attempted to sign-up to ARG version, but no dice. Tried 2 different VPN options, but both fail getting an error message - Your request failed. Use a different payment method, or contact us. Learn more [OR-CCSEH-21]

    I was hoping someone could let me know if there is a way of purchasing a prepaid card that has no exchange fees?

    I have CBA master card and Debit master card but not sure if they have exchange fees?

    • Suncorp visa debit had no fees. Mastercard has 3% fees (which is only a few cents in this case)

          You won’t get Geoblocked. I’ve used both commbank mastercard and visa debit (switched because no fees). I didn’t get geoblocked
