This is poor value in comparison to to the $4.90 90 day offer Kogan used to offer. May suit some that spend at that level

    • +1

That's a trial offer and you have to port in and out if you want to keep using it. May suit some if you could be bothered with that sort of thing.

      • Do you mean the 90 Days 60GB offer for $14.90? It's still available here.

      • +6

If you could be bothered with that sort of thing

Sim-slutting is definitely worth it if it suits your data needs and (lack of) international call needs, and only costs maybe 10-20 mins of your time every few months.

While others spend $50+ per month on plans, I'm budgeting about $50 per year while still maintaining ~30-60gb a month and ultd calls/texts.

        • How? I'm interested in this. My current plan ends In September. Could pay it out now if it's worth switching. Can I keep number doing this too?

        • Would love to hear how you achieve $50 per year.

I was 'sim slutting' for several years between Kogan and Catch connect achieving $60 per year but the Catch ship has sailed since Westfarmers bought them.

Now I budget $100 per year. $50 is outstanding!
          How do you do that?

          • @ginmi: How do you do 100 mate. I need a new deal

          • +1

@ginmi: $50 or under spend relies on super special or cashback offer as it is even less than Kogan $4.9 | 40GB | 30 Days for one year.

At the moment, combine this with this for $8 or $1 profit. Past example: VF $30 for 43c. Kogan 30 Days for 1c.

This kind of opportunity is certainly not everyday, but may come up one or two times a month. You also have to port around more often.

Too much of a pain with catch out of the picture

I just use catch for the whole year 120gb, under $100 with the deals they've had

    • I mean, yeah. That is a short offer.

  • Someone posted it and requested it taken down yesterday. It seems a postpaid monthly plan, similar to Belong Mobile.

  • +2

So what you're saying is $320 for one year, 540GB

  • +2

The prepaid options are just plain better.

    This deal
    $320 for 540gb over 12 months.

    Prepaid options
    $240 for 300gb over 12 months.
    $300 for 550gb over 12 months.

Ofcourse not everyone can shell out $240 in advance,
but anyone buying mobile plans with this volume of data arent exactly the same audience of those struggling week to week.

    • +1

$300 now vs $320 over 12 months seems pretty fair

  • I remember they used to do this plan for $25/month

  • +1

How can they force you to pay for Early Exit Fee? Especialy if using it as a data SIM.

    • You have to add a card when activate it. Maybe it does not allow removal of it in this plan?

      • Then I can just use a one-time card from Zip, which expires after 24-hour.

        • +1

They can make you enter into an agreement prior to activation. This is a postpaid plan.

          • @0jay: It is not worth the risk of being blacklisted for it, which may affect using prepaid plans with them.

        • Just did this myself. Kogan does $1 pre-auth so the one-time card has expired already.

          • @epicttiimm: Did they black list you? Im stuck in another plan with my actual CC. Thinking of just cancelling it!

            • @Doge420: Guess we have to wait until November to find out. That's when the free 4 months ends.
